Drabble Challenge: Run

The challenge here is simple: write a drabble using the prompt given. A drabble is a short, self-contained fiction, which should ideally be exactly 100 words long.

"run, run!" Harry yelled ta Ron
"please just run let me handle this!"
Ron ran the opposite directiona and fell into a pile of sticks
harry swore under his breath
"stupid!"
the giant blob was getting closer and closer
"run harry run!" Ron yelled out to him,
Harry ran straight ontop of ron
the he woke up
"close on!" he said then he saw a blob of glup on the floor

"Run Lily! It's him!" yelled James, "you take Harry and sneak out the back, I'll hold him off!"

"James, I'm not leaving you!" Lily yelled back, looking hysterical, "what if something were to happen...what if we-"

"Don't say it..." whispered James, looking into Lily's soft, fearful eyes and giving her a shake, "don't even think it...just take Harry, and go!"

"I love you James..." said Lily, biting back tears as she left the room.

The young woman had just entered her son's room, when...

*Bang!*

A shrill laugh

Silence...

Then...

"Avada Kedavra!"

*Thud*

Lily let silent tears flow down her young face. A figure advanced upon doorway of the room...

“Run all you want!” Draco screamed. Hermione’s breathing picked up more as she kept running. “I will find you.” He yelled. Hermione stopped and hid behind a tree. “Aww, you’re going to stop running now? More easier for me.” He sneered as he got closer to Hermione’s hiding spot. “You are so stupid.” He said and ran right pass her. Hermione giggled softly, ran forward, and jumped on his back. He landed with an ‘oomph’ and rolled over, laughing. “You didn’t have to jump on me.” He mumbled and Hermione laughed. “Then what fun would that have been. But now, you better start running.” Hermione said, as he jumped up.

Snape started, “A weaker man, or even a physically stronger and younger man would be considering about running away, but here you are, sitting there.”



Dumbledore just looked Snape in his dark black eyes, and asked him, if he wishes to run, why hasn’t he?



“I can just say, I was about to kill you, but it is possible I’ll don’t run first, because it is tempting, and have it done with” Snape explained



“A coward runs, but a stronger man my realise his peril, and run just the same, but the stronger man looks back to see his killer, where as a coward doesn’t”

"Run? Run where? Why run? Can't I just apparate? Wouldn't that be faster?"

"Then apparate! Just do it now!"

"There's no need to get testy! I'm just pointing out that apparition is a bit faster than muggle running!"

"Would you get out of here now? Before my father bursts in and finds us? Run, apparate, just bloody get out of here!"

"Fine, I will. I didn't realize you lived in such fear of your dad, is all. Don't get your robes twisted in a bind. I'm going."

As Blaise disappeared, Draco broke into a run to greet Lucius. Another close call.

I have no idea where this came from! XD I just started the dialogue and then tried to find two characters to fit it.

A figure stood silently, holding a piece of jewellery in his hands. His thumb ran over its surface reverently, absently.

He was caught by the contrast of it; how it was so stunningly beautiful… and yet so, tainted. Cursed.

A shiver ran down his spine. Death surrounded the thing. He could almost feel the malicious force of its evil seeping into the unprotected skin of his fingers.

Depositing the locket in the display case next to an old Order of Merlin, he turned his back on the life he had always known.

Before he disappeared, Regulus smirked.

“Run, run… as fast as you can. You can’t catch me…”

“Run Harry, Run!”, Hermione yelled out as they
were trying to get away from the werewolf, that used to
be there professor Lupin. Hermione was keen on the idea of
running. But Harry just wouldn’t move.
“Come one Harry Run. He is getting closer”
After Hermione said that Harry started to run. Why he didn’t run before
was a reason he didn’t even know.
“Hermione, he is running how are we supposed to out run him.”
That part she had not thought about.
“Just Run Harry, we will think out a way to out run him.”

They broke into a speedy run and out ran him, “That was close.”

“Oh no! Run!” yelled a battered looking red-head. Behind Charlie, the sick dragon they were helping had broken free of her bonds. They had to get away from her before they could subdue her. As he ran for some kind of cover, Charlie felt intense heat on his back. His shirt had caught fire. Swearing loudly, he turned and fell back, trying to smother the flames. The ten other wizards ran back toward him. On the count of three they sent stunners at the poor beast. Charlie knew the scars from this dragon would be terrible, but at least he’d survived to run another day.

(105 words...not my best work ever, but it was kind of fun. I like Charlie. *sigh*)

The door flew open as Lily darted through the kitchen and into the yard. Her little legs were moving as fast as she could will them to go, but it still wasn’t enough for her.

She shrieked in her signature wind-chime voice as she raced around the garden. As her mother watched from the kitchen window she couldn’t help thinking her baby was growing up. The Hogwarts years were fast approaching and Ginny couldn’t stand to think of that yet.

But for the moment, all she could do was watched as little Lily Luna ran into the sun, not seeing a single tear run down her mother’s cheek.

“On your marks, get set, go!” Hermione pressed button on her watch. “Run, Harry, run!” she encouraged him. Harry and Draco were betting to see who could run the fastest.
“Oh, and no one’s rooting for me?” Draco muttered under his breath as he ran as fast as he could.
“Keep it up!” shouted Hermione. She followed the panting boys as they ran. Harry was in the lead and only a yard away from the finish line. Harry ran as fast as he could and tore the ribbon Hermione set for them.
“Looks like you owe me,” said Harry when Draco sulked by.
“I’ll get you next time,” Draco said.

"He cant be gone, its not fair" she thought, letting the first tears of the day fall down her cheek, as she ran away from the castle, away from where his body lay cold in a pile. Pansy could not believe she was crying over Crabbe. What they had shared had never meant anything to him. It was just a kiss, just a stupid little dare. The fact that she had told him she loved him meant nothing now. Nothing at all. She needed to realize that. Running to clear her mind, shake all thoughts of his lips on hers, running to forget the pain. Just running to forget love.

110 words... it stinks. haha, but it gave me a good fanfic idea! haha

The classic wedding dress threatened to trip her as her feet slapped the pavement in rhythm. She wasn’t running fast enough, why wasn’t she running faster?
Bella could feel the tears starting to pool in her eyes with her frustration and guilt. What had she done? She, Isabella Swan, had left Edward at the altar. Her mind cringed away from the thought, instead focusing all her energies on sprinting down the darkened road.

Just as exhaustion threatened to take over, Bella came to a turn in the road, slowing to a stop. She wiped the tears away, not daring believe them. A great russet wolf was slowly sauntering towards her..

It was late at night, and Alyssianne was playing with her mother when there was a knock on the door. Arella stood up and opened it slightly before the colour drained from her face.
“Run! Alyssianne, run!” She shouted to her daughter, but the five-year-old refused, rounding on the person at the door. It was the demon. Alyssianne stood there, her mother yelling for her to run.
“Run, Shadow, you will never outrun me.” The demon said before he launched his magic at his daughter. Arella stood in front of Alyssianne, sacrificing herself. Alyssianne was stunned.
“Now it’s your turn to run…” She hissed…
