First Years Story

Frencesca Weasly was testing one of her fathers new Joke Itams for his shop weasly wizard weazes. alot of people didn't know that she was named for her fathers cousin, who died in battle with a Death Eater. she was testing a Fawkes The Phoenix Doll. it was a cute little Stuffed version of Dumbledores Phoenix, that would land on peoples shoulders and Catch flame (The fire wouldn't burn someone but they would think that there cloths where on fire) then the stuffed animal would be left in the bottom of the ashes, where you could pick it up and throw it agian so it will start flying around. she always took the toys to hogwarts, sense children where her fathers main shoppers and she needed to give them more publicity. the Phoenix landed on a girls Shoulder and cought on fire (Ameria, is it ok if the Phoenix lands on your shoulder)

Clafin was sitting in the clock-tower courtyard thinking about the day to come. She didn't know why, but she felt anxious. She pulled out her journal and began jotting down things about Luke. She literally couldn't go a second without thinking about him anymore. He was like an addiction almost. After a while, Clafin put her journal back into her book-bag and leaned her head back so that the warmth of the sun would shine on her face. She heard Ameria's voice and looked towards the tall first year. A girl Clafin had never seen before was standing in front of her introducing herself. She soon got bored with their little chit-chat and began looking around the crowd of people who'd suddenly appeared. There was a girl with flaming red hair. Clafin wasn't sure which one, but she knew the girl was one of Thomas' cousins. She watched as the girl played with a replica plushy of Fawks.

Clafin jumped up as she saw Emmalynn turn the corner into the small, but crowded hallway. She walked up to her and pointed at a small scar on her neck. "It healed pretty well. It's a shame about the scar though." she started. She thought for a moment before saying more. "I guess I can use it as a conversation starter though." she said as she shrugged her shoulders and smiled friendly at the Slytherin prefect. Clafin wasn't sure why, but Emmalynn was the only one in her house that would even talk to her. She glanced over her shoulder towards the small Weasley girl. "Do you think I should get Thomas down here before she starts anything?" she asked as she turned all the way around and cocked her head to the side. She didn't understand how the Weasley's always seemed to get away with the childish pranks they pulled...its not like they are exactly hard to see with their flaming red hair and all.

Emmalynn smiled at Clafin. "Hey, Clafin. You can get something from Pomfrey for the scar, but I think you're right: it would make a good conversation starter," she said. She smirked. "Especially because scars seem to run in the family."

She was, of course referring to Harry Potter's famous scar, and she allowed herself a small chuckle. Then, she too, looked over to the Weasley girl. She shrugged.

"I think I'll watch things play out. If it's harmless, I won't do anything, but if it's obnoxious, I'll... probably dock points or something," she said. She really wasn't mean, but she had a very low tolerence for insolence and stupidity, just like her godfa- father.

Clafin smiled and jokingly nudged Emmalynn with her elbow. "That was actually a really good one!" she said through a loud giggle. She saw a few people jump and turn in shock. Clafin automatically looked to the floor. She could feel her cheeks burning with blood. As soon as she felt her face drain, she looked up to find people still looking at her. "Sorry." she said through a weak smile as she waved. "Yeah, I suppose that's the right thing to do. Although, it's a shame that it would be taken from Gryffindor." she said quietly as her lips turned into a subtle pout.

Emmalynn continued laughing with Clafin, earning suprised looks of her own, but she ignored them. She was glad the other girl hadn't found her joke offensive, but, instead had found it funny. Emmalynn usually only cracked jokes around reaaly close friends, ones she'd known for years, but she was happy that she let this one slip.

"Yeah, I suppose that's the right thing to do. Although, it's a shame that it would be taken from Gryffindor." Clafin said quietly.

Emmalynn thought about that for a bit and shrugged. "You guys are leading right now anyway, so five points won't harm your standing," she said, then she looked at Clafin. "Otherwise I could give her detention with Filch... or McGonagall" she offered, smirking. She knew the Gryffindor would probably choose the point loss.

The bird Flew high in the air then landed on the shoulder of Clafin potter. It began to erupt into flames (without burning Clafin) then the bird grew out of the ashes and was once agian a harless plush doll. Francene Quickly scoped it up and said "Opps, sorry, my father never tells me what this stuff does." as she said this a Piece of paper fell out of her Pocket that said "Weasleys' Wizard Weezes JR. all Manufacturing and Patented Rights go to Francene Weasley. it also said in small letters at the bottom, the secret entrence to the secret store, and in bright red lettering "Come Buy our new Fawlks Plushies, scare your friends into thinking that they are on fire then pick it from the ashes and try it agian." Francene quickly picked up the peice of paper hopeing that the Prefect hadn't gotten a chance to read it.

Clafin smiled up at Emmalynn. "Eh, well...That's what it might take for her to get her head on straight." she said more to herself than to the Prefect she was standing with. She laughed at the image of Francene in detention with McGonagall. She looked to the ground, while she continued talking with Emmalynn. After a minute or to, she felt something land on her shoulder. She looked up to find a flaming the same plushie replica of Fawks that Francene had been playing with earlier. It was on fire, but Clafin didn't feel any burning against her skin. She reached up and grabbed the Pheonix off of her shoulder and glared at the Weasley girl as she strutted over to her. "Is this your idea of a joke?" she asked mockingly. "I would've expected more out of a Weasley..." she said in a bitter tone as she thrust the toy into the girls hands. Angry, Clafin stormed out of the hallway.

Emmalynn laughed and nodded at Clafin's comment about the Weasley girl. Then, she proceded to watch as what looked like a fireball landed on Clafin's shoulder. The Gryffindor looked really peeved as she snatched it up and strode over to speak to Francene. Meanwhile, the girl in question had dropped a piece of paper and Emmalynn was close enough to notice most of what it said. As Clafin stormed away, Emmalynn took her turn to talk to the Weasley. She stepped over to her and shook her head.

"Miss Weasley, that is unmistakably a Wealy Wizard Wheezes peoduct, and that, in and of itself, is a violation of Hogwarts's rules. I am going to have to confinscate it, and any other products you may have in your possession, and also assign you a detention with McGonagall," she said in her most professional prefect voice. She dug a quill and scrap of parchment from her bag and scribbled a note to the professor on it:She held the parchment to the small Gryffindor girl. "Take this to McGonagall. I will know if you do not," she said, then she held out her other hand for the WWW product.

Francene hated getting caght, it was her biggest pet peeve. She handed the bird over to the prefect then she pulled a bag full of love potion, pucking pasties, and cheating quiles her father had wanted her to sell. Its a good thing she was top of her class or she probably wouldn't of thought of a good hiding spot for everything else. she took the note and walked to Miss Mcgonagell office.

She had been told that her detention would be to help Hagrid fix up his hut. "Atleat it's someone you know honey" her father had said using fluu powder to talk to her with-in the commen room.

**I agree with Caitlin. Please be more aware of your spelling and grammer. If it helps, you could type up your posts in Microsoft Word and copy and paste it here. It is also very simple to look up a list of Harry Potter characters and check the spelling of their names.**

** When i am not able to spell something, or am just unsure of it i use google to see. It would also be a great deal of help if you would like to search a teachers name or anything els.**

Ameria had just got back from her very necessary trip from her aunts house. With Ameria barley knowing any spells or magic, her aunt gladly took her in for a few months teaching her wonders of magic.

Ameria came back more confidant then ever. She knew that if she was going to be great, she needed the extra learning. She was so exited about all her new knowledge she had to show off.

It was later that day in potions class that she attempted the Doxycide Potion. Forgetting how long to brew the potion. With much embarrassment Ameria avoided running out blushing by letting out a simple giggle.

"Ah haha. Ooops."

Clafin had been helping the potions professor with a rowdy class mixed of Slytherin and Gryffindor first years. There were a familiar faces but only one stood out. Ameria. I first year she had seen in the courtyard a few days ago. Lists of ingredients flew through her head with the instructions to make the potion correctly. As she set down multiple vials in row for the students, there was a loud noise from the back cauldron and a slam of the classroom door. Clafin looked over at the Professor and with permission followed after the student. She opened the door to hear a small giggle. She looked around a few moments before spotting Ameria. "Hey. You alright?" she asked sympathetically.

Ameria looked up to the person standing infront of her. "ya im oka- hey your that girl i met in the woods or something right?" She said trying to change the subjuct. Her plushed cheeks showed her embarrassment, but her wide opened eyes showed her interest in the girl. Her exitment grew bigger as she became more possitive that was the girl from the courtyard meeting. Ameria stood up re-entroducing herself.
"Clafin right?" She said with high enthusiasm,"Not sure if you remember me but im Ameria. I sort messed up the potion." She laughed a little, and did her small half smile showing only a few of her teeth."I got the times all wrong and well as you can see... it didnt turn out very good."

Clafin's worried expression turned into a warm grin. "Yes ma'am. I am Clafindiffious Potter. Clafin for short. I don't think its nessacery to explain why I don't go by Clafindiffious but.." she said loudly before looking down towards her feet, letting her face turn into a slight frown. "Err. Sorry, I tend to ramble on to people who couldnt care less." she said looking up at Ameria. "Oh, and of course I remember you." she said as her bright grin reappeared on her face. Clafin cleared her throught softly. "Anyway, if you'd like help with Potions I"m free to tutor." she offered kindly. "It's sorta required actualy for me to be a teachers assistant." she added pleaingly. "All you did wrong with that one is wait an extra few minutes. There is a spell I discovered my first year that gives you an automatic timer in your head. Although, it is rather dangerous." she added only half joking.

The girl amused Ameria. She couldnt help but laugh. With the big smile on her face she gave a chuckle and replyed. "I tend to mumbble when I talk to people. Oh and i could defintaly improve on my rambleing. Tutor huh. Funny I just got back from getting lessons from my Aunt. But i Guess a tutor wouldnt hurt. How much you charge?" She looked around the room, making sure no one was listening to what she was about to say."So Claffin Potter. Can you keep a secret?" She sometimes worried of the mouths on some people, and who to trust or not. but what she was about to Clafin didnt worry her to much. But enough that she wouldnt want the hole school to know.

Clafin smiled warmly once again. "Oh, there is no charge at all. Like I said, its a requirement for me to tutor at least 20 first years 15 second years and so on. So it would be a win-win kind of a deal." she said through a perfect grin. Her bright smile quickly distinguished itself as the first year got a shifty look in her eyes. "Um, a secret? Well of course...but I don't see what secret could possibly be told between the two of us." Clafin answered, trying not to sound uncomfortable. A few thoughts ran throough Clafin's head, and a worried expression darkened her face. "Are you in trouble or something?" she asked, sounding much to motherly for Clafin's liking.

A little giggle passed from Ameria. "Its not a big secret. Its just something I though you would want to know." She was a bit happy. But when the thought of what Clafin said, proccessed in her mind she felt a bit insulted. What had she ment by she wasnt sure what secret could be passed between Clfin and herself. She tried shaking off that feeling. "Well do you want to know?" She asked just waiting for a reply.

It was building up in Ameria and she did not care weather or not the girl wanted to know, he was going to tell. But first she thought she should at least give Caflin a chance to reply instead of just asking over and over agia.

"Huh? Do you?"

Clafin frowned at the girl, who was not much smaller than herself. "Now, there is no need to take that tone with me Ameria. I have done unkind, so naturally I would like to be treated the same way." she said, sounding friendly still. She lit her face up with her grin once more. "of course I would like to know, but would it be possible to meet up later. I don't think the professor will look well upon you if you miss anymore of his class." she offered as she dropped her lips on one side. "Perhaps the library later tonight? I suppose we could start with the tutoring then too. Yes?" she asked sounding enthusiastically hopeful.

"Tonight?" Ameria asked with a bit of a fright. She hoped that her scratchy voice was all in her head. She scratched her head and started tapping her fingers on the desk. "Well I suppose that i could. I mean... I dont have plans or anything!" She said unsurely. Trying to hide her unpositivity. But what Ameria wasnt saying along with her going on questions is that tonight she was going to the library. But it was not intended to have a tag along. She simply was trying to sneak into the 'Restricted' aisle.
Well though Ameria's plans where cancled she could only hope the tutoring would help her. And she could always sneak out another day. But her doubt still hung on to her.

Clafin smiled and held the potions classroom door open for the first year. "What did you say about the restric-" she cut herself off. "Oh, nevermind. So how about around 7? I have erm... Well, I've got something else important to do." she said under her breath. She walked through the door to find that the class was nearly over. She whipped out her wand and used a few quick spells to clean up the mess Ameria had made, just as a few Slytherin first years pushed past her cursing vulgar names. Clafin cleared her throat and pointed to the shiny prefects badge that rested upon her robes.

Clafin ran off leaving few spells behind her. Ameria rushed out as well. She quickly ran upstairs o her dorm and began her search. She was looking for her wand. Though she was told not to use it with her last incident on turning one of the weaslys into a toad. But she had been trained more. "No harm no foul." She said to herself.

The wand had been missing! It seemed as if she had been searching for hours. "Where is it!" She said angerly to herself. It was nearly seven o clock. There was nothing els to do but leave with out it.

Ameria sighed, as she grabbed her cloak, book, and her lamp. Then she ran through the doors. "I cant be late" She insisted. "ugh wat shall happen if I where to get cought?" She kept asking herself unreasonable, silly, yet very likely questions. But kept on going. And kept on talking to herself.

Clafin had been in the library ever since her last class gad gotten out. She was going through book after book finishing as many assignments as possible before Ameria came for tutoring. She'd already pulled out the appropriate books, and was waiting for the first year to come. Clafin looked up at the big grandfather clock that rested against a wall on the far side of the library. It was almost 7:30 and still no sign of Ameria. <i> Where could she possibly be?</i> Clafin asked herself silently. She almost couldn't believe that yet another first year didn't show up to something that would help them pass a class.

Ameria walked into the library and sighed heavily. Then looked down at her watch, then her eyes quickly grew with panic. "Oh bloody hell!" She said loudly. Then looked around her aware abouts checking to see if the librarian had heard her. "I hope Clafin, is still here." She had been thirty-five minutes late. She quickly walked around the corner checking for Clafin. "Finaly i found you" She said in a relieved voice. "Sorry im so late. I uh..." She paused trying to think of an exuse why she had been so late! "My room mate! She needed my help and i told her that i woulldnt be much help, but she thought i could compleate the spell she was having difficulties with. But as you could imagine i made a mess and had to help clean it up!" 'Sure thats believable. She thought to herself

Clafin looked up from her book as she heard someone curse a few rows down. She rolled her eyes and loooked back to her book, only to be drawn away from it once more. Ameria was standing before her looking rather frazzled. As the girl began unweaving an excuse Clafin tried to interrupt. "It's fine. Lets just get to work shall we? I'm going to just have to wait a few more days to get the-" she stopped herself. "Oh, nevermind you. What potion would you like to work on?" she asked as she set a book down on the table in front of Ameria. "From the looks of it, you could use this potion here." she said, pointing to a calming draught. She smiled, making it into a joke.

"Oh right ya. haha. Well I was actually wondering if you could try to help me with a spell. The Aparecium spell. You know the one that makes invisible things reappear again. Its suppose to be simple, yet i cant get it down." Ameria said in her low scratchy voice. She stood there for a few more seconds before reaching into her book bag. "Oh before i forget i brought some things to help us study. Things my aunt gave me when i was studying with her." She paused thensat down and began chatting again. "Clafin, i still need to tell you something." This time Amerias voice wasnt so scratchy. More steady and serious. "But it can wait."

Clafin nodded in argeement. "Well typically, that spell is used to reveal invisible ink. I'll help you with it, but I fail to see how this will help you with your potions exams coming up next week." she stated in an unsure tone. Clafin looked back down at her book, and with a sigh eased it shut. So much for tutoring requirements she thought to herself a tad annoyed. She just didn't understand why first years couldn't grasp the severity of the classes. She looked up at Ameria, waiting for her to pull out the object her aunt had given her to help with studies. As the girl continued talking however, Clafin's thoughts went else where. "Oh, I'm sure it shouldn't have to wait. Go ahead and tell me." she said in a friendly manner.

Ameria thought to herself... Should I really tell her? She was confused if she could actually help her or not."Okay, well I have been hearing chatter in the hallways" she said quietly " and honestly its not my exam I need help with. Infact im doing pretty well in that class.I was just side tracked. Because you see what I heard was" she paused wondering if this was the right move. Should Clafin, really know? She went on anyways, "well I heard that since Professor Dumbledore was killed.... I herd they might shut down Hogwarts." She noticed that she had started speeding up her words and hoped clafin could understand her mumbling worried words. She took a deep breath and began talking again, as she pulled out a book. "You see, this is what my aunt gave me. She told me it would help with the secrets behind hogwarts. The only problem is... the Aparecium spell is put on the book." She looked around making sure no one had heard her.

Clafin looked at Ameria for a moment, repeating everything the girl had just said over again in her own head. "Well, it's absolute rubbish that the school is being closed down. Not true at all. Rumors like those have been going on for years. If they were true, trust me, we would know by now." she said in a calming yet professional voice. She looked down at the book in Ameria's hands. It looked fimiliar somehow. Clafin shook her head slightly. If it looks fimiliar, then you've probably never seen it in your entire life you blubbering idiot. she thought to herself. Her eyes began to blur as she continued staring at the leather cover around the old yellow parchment it bound together. She shook her head again. "Wh-Why did you bring this to me though?" she asked as calmly as she could. Her voice was shaking and she was having a hard time speaking clearly. She couldn't understand why though.

"Hey watch where you'r going next time!" Leona said to the fumbling idiot knocking her into Clafin.
"Im so sorry! Ill tel you some of the people here just dont know how to walk a straight line." She said passing a quiet chuckle. She looked at the girls faces, and could tell they where probably having an interesting conversation.
"What might you guys be talking about!? I mean it seams as if you'v seen a Boggart, of some sorce."
