Alone

Lolly had arrived at the library once again. She could often be found here. She hoped that someone would come sit with her. But in the meantime she pulled out her books for potions and charms and started to study. Being the first lot of lessons most of the classes had been standard.

She looked in her bag to get some quill and parchment out and wrote down information about some of the charms they had learnd in that lesson. Just in case she needed them later.

Lolly was getting bored of studying and had nearly finished so she decided to go look for a book for a bit of extracurricular work. She walked down the bookshelf and found a book about runes. She pulled it out and carried it back to her desk. Runes had always fascinated her, even before she knew she was a witch. She opened the book and started reading, since no one had arrived yet.

Rose felt like studying on this particular day, which wasn't a surprise to most. If you ever questioned where she was, the first places you would look is the potions classroom, Quidditch pitch, or library. And the library is were she was heading.

It was a calm day at Hogwarts, and there was hardly any activity on the way to the library. Rose had a handful of books of magical history she wanted to check back in. She wasn't quite sure what she would study next, but she would figure that out when she got there.

When Rose arrived at the library, it was practically empty. She sighed and turned her heavy books in, than began searching for something to read. She found a nice book on the uses of magical fish. "How did I miss this before..." she muttered to herself. Grabbing the chunky book, Rose went in search for a ncie, quite, relaxing spot, and noticed a girl reading silently to herself. She sat across from her, placing her own book down lightly on the table. Without a word, she opened to the first page and began to read.

As Lolly scanned a picture of a runic monument she heard soft footsteps drawing near. She looked up and saw a girl who have just joined her on the spot. "Hi," she smiled at her. The Ravenclaw have thought that she could be concentrating to study, but she can't help it. It was like she have been waiting to have company for ages.

Lolly caught a glimpse of a yellow emblem on her robes and thought maybe she's a Hufflepuff. "I'm Lolly," she whispered as an introduction. Lolly felt giggling as she thought she's sounding foolish. "Well, I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you. I'm just starting to get bored and all," she said rolling her eyes.

Rose smiled. "Hi there. Your a Ravenclaw? Lolly....I like that name." Her face flushed red as she extended her hand to be shaken. "I'm Rosalie. Rosalie Vain. You can call me Rose, everyone does." She, too, laughed a little, before the librarian gave her a ghostly look and pressed her finger to her lips, signaling for Rose to stop talking. She huddled down some and bit her lip, mouthing 'sorry' back.
It wasn't often that she met people in the libray. In fact, she was usually the only one that would sit down and read, besides that Granger girl.

Lolly shook hands with Rose. "Well, yes, I'm a Ravenclaw," she answered in low volume. "Your name sounds....vain," she giggled silently. "Sorry. Product of boredom," rolling her eyes with a grin. "I wonder how are we gonna chat quietly," she mumbled while tapping her chin.

"Of course," she remarked. Taking paper and pen she wrote, We write!

"Ha! But not cool, writing can be tiring," she put aside the paper and pen. She cupped her chin and tapped the desk lightly. "I never thought I will be this bored in the Library, ever."

"Do you have anything in mind that might help me kill this boredom?" Lolly asked Rose in wonder.


[I'm might change the title next time I got on, maybe "Killing Boredom"? Or whichever may suit better.]

Rose chewed on her cheek and smiled. "Me? Vain? Of course not!" She whispered happily in a lowered voice. The librarian stood up with a handful of books and walked silently off to put them up.

"Ah a break!" She sighed. Lolly grabbed a pen and paper, thinking that they could write little notes to one another, but gavce up on the idea and leaned closer in.

"Bored already, are you?" Rose purred in a whisper. "Well, there isn't much to do in a library but read..." She looked out the window as a bird flew by.
