You'll need to use a photo hosting site to begin with.

I use www.photobucket.com - it lets you store a lot of pictures and is easy to use, however others you can try are www.imageshack.us or www.tinypic.com.

Then, when your picture has been uploaded, you'll get a picture URL. This is what you put in between the image tags, so:

[img]URL OF IMAGE HERE[/img]
