Fawkes

How old is fawkes? I mean how long has he been around? if he keeps being reborn from his own ashes then he could be centuries old couldnt he?

A good question, personally i think Fawkes is as old as time itself.

I think he's like ancient, coz he can be reborn maybe like 1000 years?

It doesnt say it is immortal so fawkes can die

He probably did belong to Godric. It wouldn't surprise. I really think that Fawkes will also play a major role in the Seventh role. Most likely to go with Harry on his jounrney, I think!

I argee however if he is as old as time it leaves us with the question of if he was always there where did he come from in the first place.

I doubt Fawkes is a horcruz but it could be a Gryffindor family heirloom... possibly. I'm not so sure though

I like the theory that he belonged to Gryffindor, really good idea. Would give extra support to the reason why he helped Harry back in CS, other than the fact that Harry showed loyality towards DD.
What I also wonder - where did Fawkes go after DD died? Did he just - leave? I hope he will help Harry again, although I think Jo is imaginative enough not to use the same motive twice.

Well one way to find out if he was exclusive just for Dumbledore or all headmaster is by seeing if Minevra well have him or not?

i dont think she will as he left if he was going to stay for minevra then he wouldent have botherd leaving hogwarts

WELL I DOUBT FAWKES WAS THE ONLY PHOENIX IN THE WIZARDING WORLD.

BUT THIS OPENS UP THE QUESTION (4ME) HOW EXACTLY DID DUMBLEDORE GET FAWKES?

Answer- Maybe just the normal lifespan of a bird, It has healing powers for people who touch its tears, but its not immortal itself... Hum i dunno
