There are a few professor's jobs coming up for advertisement within the next week. To apply for the job specified, simply reply to the designated topic with a short lesson plan and why you think that you would make a great professor.

Professors need to be able to present classes to HE members, keep their classes up to date with creating classes, awarding housepoints, pm'ing elfie with the new housepoints etc etc.

A professor needs a good knowledge of how classes work and a good knowledge of the site itself. You may bring in a new unique way of teaching, yet all classes need to be well presented and there can not be any bias towards your own house.

Your life as a flower

Part 1- Tell me in no less then 200 words about your life as a flower. Including what type of flower you are and why. Also include as many details as you want but the more details you have the more housepoints you'll get. Some things to think about are color, shape, what kind of pollenator you have, and your general uses, etc.

I'd make a great proffessor because I am here almost all the time and I'm an active member. I treat everyone fairly and wouldn't show any favoritism. I have many ideas and I am a generally creative person.

I’d love to be Professor of Herbology. I find herbs, plants and trees amazing and very interesting. I also know that the knowledge of herbs and its properties and uses can saves from death both in the magical and muggle world. Herbology knowledge is also essential in potions making hence why the two subjects are close connected. Knowing the environment, where to find herbs and know to identify one when we see it it’s essential to survive in the magical if you’re trying to escape, fight someone or just looking for an herb that can save your life or of a beloved one from poisoning.
I was looking through the old lessons and I realized that the matter of what’s herbology and what can it does for us was not approached. So for the first lesson I’d suggest a brief look on this subject. Let’s take a look.

Herbology’s not as known and popular as it was in the ancient times. Why? What’s the part modern medicine played in this decline of importance? Is there a future for Herbology? Write an essay on the subject. This will test both your search and deduction abilities and also your opinios which are allowed and welcomed.

PART 4 – Herbology to You (10)

Now, what’s herbology to you? Is it something important? Does it play any role in your life (if yes give an example, if no explain why)? In what ways do you think herbology can help both in the wizard and the muggle world? Or do you think herbology has no use at all and should no longer be studied? Express your opinions whether they’re good or bad, but please be explicit in your opinions and give reason why you think that way.

I'd be a good professor because I'm good at doing lessons in other subjects so I have a good knowlege of what a good lesson and as professor I'd try to give short report to everyone who do my lesson to tell what they did wrong what can they improve and to congrat people who do very good.

I would like to start the lesson with a little well, lesson. I think I will give you information and you can take notes (summerize) and then at the end there will be classwork and a homework. I hope it works out!

Notes: Today's class will focus on Herbology Around The World. Now, I want you all to know that herbology is not just a class to get your fingers dirty in, it is also very useful. In ancient Chinese times it was used for medicine, like Madaam Pomfry uses the Madrakes for. But this is even more remarkable because it was done by Muggles! Now what these muggle healers did was brew a cocktail (or potion) tailored to each indivul patients need. During the brewing period many herbs are mixed together some to cancel out other poisonus herbs in the mixture, some for texture, and others simply for their healing qualities. The Chinese often used all parts of a plant in their potions and sometimes even parts of animals and minerals. I would love to be A professor here at the Hogwart's experience. I am an administrator on another small forum and teach a few lessons there. Herbology is one of my favorite magical subjects. My 1st lesson would be as follows:

Gillyweed
Gillyweed is a wonderful plant with a great use. We learn a lot about this plant in the Goblet of Fire when Harry uses it to help him get through the second task.
In this lesson I would like to know as much as you know about this magnificent aquatic plant.

Part one-Plant description
Please give me a complete description of what Gillyweed looks like. I want details. Color, texture, place of origin and whatever else you can think of. I would like at least 4 sentences (15)

Part two-Effects
Please give me a full description of the effects of Gillyweed. What happens when you eat it? What does it do to the witch/wizard who takes it? How long do the effects last? (25)

Part three-What would you do if you could use Gillyweed?
If Snape handed you gillyweed he got from his private cupboard and told you that you could use it to do anything you wanted, tell me in your own words what would you do under the effects of it. Be creative and descriptive. (20)

I think that I would be a great professor for this subject. I know a lot about herbology and have plenty of time to dedicate to my lessons. My lessons will be creative and fun and I will come up with something new and exciting each week. All Harry Potter related subjects are a hobby of mine and I have spent numerous hours researching as much as I can about them. I can be fair in my grading of all students participating and will not award or dis-award points because they are in a certain house. I will grade on the content and accuracy of their work submitted.
