Towel Day: 25th May

Towel Day is fast approaching!

To quote from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...

For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitch hiker) discovers that a hitch hiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitch hiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitch hiker might accidentally have "lost". What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

So what is towel day? Well, on the 25th May, everyone is encouraged to take their favourite towel with them wherever they go. So if you're a fan of HHGTG and Douglas Adams books, take your towel with you next week!

Hehe well I'm not sure that the founders of towel day meant you *wear* a towel, but each to their own, I guess :D

for me, it sounds crazy enough to do it, but I haven't even read HHGTG so it doesn't really have a "meaning" for me... XD .... plus I'd feel weird XD ... ahh and I have job practise that day and ... well, I'm not sure the serious ladies would like me to .. take my towel around XD

i havent read HHGTG either..... I would love to though but i dont know if thier a series like the HP books and plus i need to go to the bookstore which is a problem for me cause i live out in the middle of nowhere.....lol..... maybe ill participate lol

o i missed towel day well im defo doing it next year
