| Hey class, I've decided to give an essay class for this homework assignment. I want you to pick a couple of jobs, two or three, magical or muggle, and write about what part Arithmancy can play in it, no matter how big or small. There should be a minimum of 300 words and a maximum of 500. Be sure to put a little work into it and do research, also SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) and QWC (Quality of Written Communication) will come into play in this assignment.
Possible housepoints: 100
Bonus 50 points for best student plus name added to the Hall of Fame at the end of the term. 100 Point to the House with most Students taking Part at the end of the term.

| Arithmancy greatly affects careers in which the outcome of a certain decision will cause ruin or prosper. Decisions can thus be made with the compatible date of a word, and if one completes a series of tasks with the same personality number, these tasks have a greater chance of running more smoothly. Thus, those in a position in which they must make possibly detrimental decisions have great need for Arithmancy.
Any member of the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures under the Ministry of Magic should take Arithmancy into serious consideration. For instance, Buckbeak is a hippogriff. His trial took place on Monday, June 6th, 1994.
HIPPOGRIFF 8+9+7+7+6+7+9+9+6+6= 74 7+4 = 11 1+ 1 = 2
MONDAY 4+6+5+4+1+7 = 27 2+7 = 9
Thus, the execution was poorly planned. A 9 personality number generally represents the negative aspect of arrogance and conceitedness; hippogriffs take great offense to the arrogant and conceited, so picking Buckbeak's execution for a Monday displayed poor planning. Although no day of the week adds up to two and thus finds itself compatible with a hippogriff's loyalty and moodiness, Sunday, being a 3, may work better. 3's negative traits include being easily offended, and hippogriffs themselves may be easily offended. Thus, Walden MacNair may have had the chance to remove Buckbeak's head if he had planned to do so on Sunday, June 5th instead of Monday, June 6th.
Work in the Department of Magical Games also should analyze the dates when planning the Qudditch World Cup. Yet again, we have another occurrence on a Monday, August 25th, 1994.
QUDDITCH 8+3+9+4+4+9+2+3+8=50 5+0 = 5
Quidditch, a very instable and unreliable sport, lacks any compatibility with a 9, reaches for completion. As any quidditch fan knows, Quidditch matches have an undetermined length, and some have lasted several months. Thus, it was no suprise to see the Dark Mark at the Quidditch World Cup. Perhaps they should have held the match the next day on a Tuesday with a personality of a number 5.
The Daily Prophet as well as The Quibbler effectively utilize Arithmancy in their publications. Both newspapers feature an astrology section which includes predictions based upon Arithmancy. Many subscribers to these papers, particularly Luna Lovegood's appreciation for her father's paper, read these predictions for their personality number and attempt to live their lives by such. If either paper incorrectly analyzes an outcome by poor arithmetic, the results for those readers may be severe.
Thus, through these given examples, Arithmancy plays a vital role in the life of a witch or wizard in the working world. Executioners best be careful to plan a date compatible with the animal they wish to execute. Those in charge of setting up Quidditch matches and tournaments best pick a Tuesday for their matches. The clairvoyant utilizing Arithmancy to aid others in predictions best do so under great care as not to hurt the outcome of a person's day. Arithmancy, through its power of prediction, tremendously plays a role in the life of any career-oriented witch or wizard.

P.S. If it looks long, it's 484 words if you don't count me showing the math for Monday, Hippogriff, or Quidditch and if you don't count the works cited. | |
