Epilogue

Use this thread to discuss the events in the Epilogue of Deathly Hallows.

I loved the epilogue. It was exactly what I wanted to see happen: Harry happy with a family. I'm so glad he got his happy ending!

One small gripe is that he gave his third son's middle name as Severus...but meh, one tiny thing!

I just loved it.

Sorry, i'm just jumping here and comment on the other chapters later. I was reading the epilogue over and over again, it's just... brilliant. Sad but... yeah.

But yeah, it was so good - the book i mean - but also sad. It's over now BUT SOME OF YOU GUYS MADE ME A PROMISE, REMEMBER!?!?!? xD

I hope the fandom keeps going long after this ^^

lol XD I still promise!!!!!! *huggles* I adored the epilogue and just cried through the whole thing... it was really hard not to get tears on my pages lol. I liked how Harry's son (or one of them anyway) was named Albus Severus, because it's a tribute to both of them and I also like how Harry comforted Albus about the whole 'I don't care if you get into Slytherin' thing... I just bawled when Neville was mentioned as the Herbology professor... no idea why Overall, I thought it quite a fitting ending for a WONDERFUL series!!!

...i wanted Harry to die... *grumbles* Not that i complain about DH, it was excellent, and i loved the ending, just-- die, Harry :D

The epilouge had to be my most favorite part of the whole book. I'm so happy for Harry; he got what he wanted, a wonderful wife and family.

I probably read the chapter a million times over! It's just how I imaged everything to end.

hehe, I liked the epilogue. It tied things up nicely, even though it was beyond explitory... is that the right word? I'm not sure. My writing teacher at camp told us to show what's happening through our work, not flat-out tell the reader everything. And the epilogue was too... tell for me. It needed more show

But other than that, I liked it. I liked the last line, even if it didn't end with "scar"

It was wonderful I loved it the whole Happy ever after thing. That chapter is sure to make loads of fan fictions on the childrens parts lol! But I loved Albus Serverus and the way he said something like he is named after to of the bravest men or something or something.

I liked the ending, and although Albus Severus is a bit of a clunky name for a kid to carry I thought it was really sweet. It shows that despite all of Harry and Snape's discord that Harry could be the one to break it, that old hates don't have to be kept up....

My only problem with the epilogue is I really want to know about everyone else too!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, I guess she left a lot for the fanfic crowd to work with. *g*

i really didn't like the epilogue lol. it seemed.....disappointing to me for some reason. I loved the fact that Neville was the Professor instead of Hermione, and that one son had severus in his name, but other than that, the epilogue just wasn't what i thought was somewhere good to leave us *shrug* although now i just want to know more....grrr XD

I like the Albus Severus thing too....I was just hoping for more in the Epilogue i guess....but it was still awesome Harry finally got a happy and peaceful life...well as peaceful as it can be with three rugrats around the house

I still love this chapter, but on reflection I wish we'd had one more chapter, after "The Flaw in the Plan", just showing us the aftermath of the battle and the start of rebuilding the wizarding world.

yep yep yep I agree, Amy. And I also wanted to see who Draco's wife was!!! lol XD and like what Rigby said, I really wanted to find out what happened to everyone else... and there were some loose ends that I didn't see tied up.. or maybe I'm just oblivious XD

Is it just me that thought this chapter was incredibly funny? I laughed all the way through.

Albus Severus is the funniest name ever!!

And Scorpius!! LMAO.

I liked it and thought it was a pretty good ending, but it was a bit...much. I mean, why did EVERYONE have to go and get married and have kids? I don't imagine Draco being the 'married' type somehow...

I do love how Harry is telling his son that if he's sorted into Slytherin that's okay. In my opinion though there were a couple loose ends left and JK promised that there'd be no questions once we were done.

it was a bit rushed...i mean 2 pages plus the character were weird..just randomly sprout out names (OC if you know what i mean) that's suppose to be the kids..

esp. the last 2 sentence..in my opinion its unnessary

JKR's actually said in an interview what their jobs are:

Harry and Ron are aurors, Harry's the head of department and they have revolutionised it. Hermione is head of the MLES, but she didn't say anything about Ginny

I loved the Epilogue I liked that it showed him happy with a family and Ron's children. I loved it.

I didn't really like the epilogue either. I really wanted to know more about the rest of the charectors, their jobs, their kids, their houses, things like that. I didn't like the name Albus Severus either, I hoped Ginny would get to name a kid after someone from her family. I could kind of guess about the Lily and James thing though. That was a little obviuos. Still not horrible

D'you think they named James as 'James Sirius'? I think I had this convo with Muffie aka GinGin aka Ginny, and we both agreed... didn't we? But then again, we agree on LOADS of things without even knowing it - we're just cool like that...

And by the way, how many fanfics will be rewritten thanks to that amazing epilogue!? :D Loooovely!

I was thinking if it was James Sirius I was going to write a fanfic with him named like that.

I knid of thought that Harry was going to die. But I said that he wasn't in my head.

At first I didnt like it much.. but the more I reread the book the more I like it

The eplioge was soooo good. I liked the part where they said Nevill was herbolgy professer, and the names chosen for harrys kids. But what was JKR thinkking when she named Hugh, and SCORPIUS!!! i mean, come on......

I don't think he was oging to Hogwarts, I think he was just seeing his girlfriend Victoire off. I think that he had graduated the previous year and Victoier was a year behind so still in school.

I also think he was just seeeing Victoire off.

While I was on JKR's official site, I found out that Harry's kids are named James Sirius, Albus Severus (but you knew that), and Lily Luna.

Draco married a woman named Asteria Greengrass, and his son's name is Scorpius Hyperion (lmao).

Luna married a guy named Rolf and they had Lorcan and Lysander.

Bill and Fleur had Victoire, Dominique, and Louis.

George married Angelina and had two kids; Fred and Roxanne.

Percy married a woman named Audrey and also had two kids; Molly and Lucy.

And Charlie never married.

I think that he was too busy of chasing dragons.. and If he's off doing that and he's happy then i think it's okay.

Anyhow, I'm surprised at how many people liked the epilogue, eh. I personally felt like slapping JK after reading it - why, oh, WHY, did she feel like writing that sugar-coated few pages that read like they were some bad fan fiction? (nothing against fan fiction - in fact, I've read fan fiction that was much better than this XD) Honestly, I enjoyed the whole book, but the epilogue was just disappointing. It was way too happy-ever-after-fairytale. >_<"
