Subject: The Letter Sat Sep 08 2007, 13:43

Ok, does anyone else wish that they could have learned what Dumbledore wrote in the letter that he gave to the Dursleys? It seemed that during the 5th book, it was going to play a huge part. Or thats what I thought, but when I read the 6th book it didn't have anything in about it. I really wish we could learn about it more. Did anyone else feel this way???

Yeah, I really wanted to know what it said. The big deal with the "Remember my last" to Petunia really caught me off-guard.

Yes, I agree. I would love to know what it said. It was probably something that made the Dursley's hate Harry more, something that told them they were stuck with him every summer until he came of age.

Was it not the fact that Patunia wanted to go to Hogwarts as well? The last letter Dumbledore sent her refusing her attempts to go. Maybe Dumbledore was threatening her, maybe he would have told Vernon and Dudley that Patunia wanted to go to Hogwarts once.

i think that the letter they were talking about was the one left with harry when he was a baby. i imagine it was a fairly long letter talking about the wizarding world in accordance to harry and voldemort. i think that the whole remember my last meant "remember my last request", like maybe Lily's last request was to keep harry safe. maybe it was like how snape watched over harry, but was cruel to him...i think thats how it was with petunia....just my thoughts though...XD

I agree with Kim, I'm pretty sure it says somewhere that he was referring to whatever was written in the letter left with Harry. BUt now that I think about it, I'd like to know what that one said too...

Kim does have an excellent point. As for it being a threat I don't see Dumbledore sending her a threat. However I would love to find out what the letter said The Letter 436937

Yeah, I don't think Dumbledore would have threatened the Dursley's in this letter...I would love to find out what the letter said though. I think it'd be so interesting!
