If you want to perform a simple "magic" trick for your friends, here's an easy one. Stand just far enough away from a wall that your fingertips are just barely touching it. Then bring your arm back, bending at the elbow. Then straighten it- your fingers will now no longer be touching the wall! Your friends will think you have shortened your arm. (I think the trick has to do with how the muscles contract when you bend you arm.)
