I know I don’t have much to offer seeing as I am fairly new, but I think I am qualified for this position. I am hardworking and creative, I am always on the site - it’s basically my homepage now. I am graduatint high school in May and plan to pursue teaching as my major and so I hope that by directing this class I can gain some first hand experience. I did post a lesson already in Flying Lessons classroom as a substitute. Part One (10pts)

Answer to the following in your OWN words.

1. What is Evanesco?
2. What can happen if Evanesco is done incorrectly?
3. What is Splinching and how is it tied to the vanishing spell?
4. Tell me of 2 creatures that can disappear at will.
5. Describe the difference between apparition and vanishing

Part Two (40pts)

You have just used Evanesco on your worst enemy. Explain what happened. Must be at least 200 words.

Veela Shifting

*Professor enters classroom*

"Hi there students! We will be learning of the mysterious Veela. Fairly easy lesson. It should not take long to complete.”

Female spirits of Eastern European folklore, veela are shapeshifting creatures believed to dwell in forests, lakes mountains and clouds. In their animal forms they can appear as swans, horses, falcons, snakes, or wolves, but they are at their most alluring and dangerous in human form, as beautiful young girls with long flowing hair who dress in misty robes and dance under the midsummer moon. Young men who fall under their sway lose all reason. They become dazed and forget to eat, drink, or sleep, often for days. Anyone unlucky enough to com upon veela dancing must join them and dance, dance, dance until they die of exhaustion. Although veela can be benevolent toward humans and share their gifts of healing and prophecy, they are quite temperamental. They will not tolerate being lied to or deceived and can inflict terrible punishments, especially on anyone who breaks a promise. In some traditions, veela have been known to marry humans, settle down and raise families, apparently without ill effect for either species.

4. In what form are they most dangerous? How do they look in this form? Why?

Explain the dangers that exist if you where to meet a veela. What can happen if they catch you under their spell. (Please CAREFULLY read how Veela affect the person.) (HNT: Gender)

I would like to apply for this job as well XD. As said in other applications I am now a fifith year and have been a member on the site for a year and almost 4 months. I always enjoy being a part of the action and would love to become a professor. Being a prefect has taught me alot about this site and how much work it is but I am ready to handle a greater responsibility. I am always on at least once a day and love checking for new classes and participating in them. When I first joined it was how I met many of the people I now consider my friends. I will always make sure to have new and exceiting classes up and check them often.

Now I would like you to discuss how you feel about human transfiguration.Think about these questions. You don't have to answer them all but it will give you more housepoints. Would you do it? Would you have a friend do it? Do you think the results out weighs the risk? Why do you think you have to wait until 6th year to be taught. How could you possibly practice this?
