Katie ran into the giant, leafy maze. It was almost impossible to hear anything besides her own breathing. She had the slightly eerie feeling that she was being watched. However, she couldn't let that bother her, she wanted to get to the end, more for her own pride than anything else. As she moved further in she started to notice that her claustrophobia was setting in. And that was saying something because it didn't happen often. As she continued running she hoped her first obstacle wouldn't be so bad.

Katie was running along when suddenly she tripped. She stood up with caution, she knew that she hadn't just tripped over her own two feet, like she often did. Instead she saw a little black cylinder standing where once nothing was. Katie gaped at, unsure at what it was. She was sure that she had seen one before. And then it hit her. It was a sprakling! Duh! She had learned that in muggle studies. As she continued walking she realized there were more and more of them. Not worried, but a little amused Katie walked on, not sure of what to do about it.

Then, liquid started squirting out from them. Thinking it was just water as spraklings usually spray she ran right through. Then Katie's skin began to ache. This was no ordinary water. She had to stop it. It felt like her skin was being set on fire. She drew her wand and said, "congelo" which was the freezing charm. She silently prayed it would work.
