Charity Runs/Walks/Races etc

Ever since I lost my dad I have been considering doing a charity run for Cancer. I was looking into one, race for life I think it was, though its only for women and Mick wanted to do it with me (well Im forcing him to lol) and so am looking other places. I would love to do the London marathon one day though as I drive everywhere instead of walking I need a lot more excersise and training for that.

There are a few midnight runs near me which I think I might participate in at some point though

Do you know of any? Have you ever particpated in any? Are you considering it?

I like the idea of participating in something like this, but I doubt I would do it. Running is not something I enjoy...

I'd maybe do a charity walk, but I'd rather do some other form of fundraising!

I admire those who do these things though, for example there was a blind man from Birmingham in the news this week who ran seven marathons on seven continents in seven days, and raised lots of money for his charity.

I have done a few charity runs but nothing on the extent of the London marathon and I ended up walking most of the way :D

I've done a walk called Light the Night here where everybody gets a balloon with a light in it (different colors for survivors, those walking in memory of someone, or those just walking to support) and it's a lot of fun because lots of people do it and the balloons look really pretty when they're all lit up.
