| This is the thread for yiecjohn vs. x_cookie-monster_x.
You should duel your opponent using your own spells and spells from the HP Universe. You should make a total of six posts each, and should take it in turns to post.
You will be marked on the following:
* Eye for surroundings * Defensive and offensive spells (both what spells are used and how well they are used) * Knowledge of spells * Eye for detail (both your own posts and others posts) * Inventiveness and creativeness as a whole
Please avoid one sentence posts. Try to develop your duelling posts into more than one paragraph. See the howler in the main forum for more information on how to duel successfully.

| Spells are listed at the bottom of my posts, and their function also.
Dorothy - or Dory, as she prefered to be called - was sitting in the library. Because she had sworn to Madame Pince that she wouldn't spill and also because Madame Pince liked Dory, she was aloud to have some hot chocolate whilst wrapped up in her duvet... Ah, Bliss... Just to make sure, she had cast an Impervious Charm on the book, so no harm could be done to the blessed books. Just as she was settling herself comfortably, she realised that there was something she should be doing. So, grumbling, she plunged a hand into the dark depths of her bag, and pulled out her homework planner, with crumpled pages and mould springing up from unexpected places. Not wanting Madame Pince see a book in such a state, she quickly muttered, "Reparo!" And the pages lay flat. She ruffled through it to the presesnt date, 2 of June... Nothing. But Dory was sure she had something to do. She she looked back and came upon 28 May. And there was a duel supposed to be taking place, but she wasn't there!
Jumping up, she Vanished the mug of hot chocolate with an impatient wave of her wand, and stuffed the book in her bag and left the library at a furious pace. She took the stairs two at a time, and finaly arrived at the door. Sure enough, the door had written on it some name she didn't know, vs Dorothy, 600 points. At the sight of her full name she ground her teeth angrily. She shook her head. There were other things to do. Even so, she started to panic. 600 points wasn't too bad, but if she didn't do well this duel, she'd be sent packing. She cleared her mind of thoughts that might disrupt her performance in this duel, then drew her wand from her robes to check if there was anyone in the room. The other person might be even more hair-brained than she was and hadn't realised yet that they had to be here, but she highly doubted it.
She approached the door, and held her wand out in front of her. She muttered a reveiling spell, "Homenum Reveilio", a spell designed to show the sillouette of whoever might be hiding. A Disullusionment Charm or an Invisibility Cloak wouldn't be any help at all agaist this useful spell. Dory saw with relief that there was no-one in there. But still, there could be a trap by the door.
"Alician Reveilio" A spell designed to show any residues of any spells, as if they had been painted fluorescent pinks, greens and yellows. She saw that there were none, but decided to try some of her own. She thought for a moment, and decided that sticking her opponent's hand to the door-knob to his hand could be fun. She slipped inside, but left the door open. Then she pointed the wand-tip very carefully at the knob and said, "Collo manus..." And there was a quiet squelch, like the sound made by the Collo-Portus spell. She carefully closed the door, and backed into a corner to keep her back covered, but made sure that she was able to get out on the open if needed. Light on her toes, she waited, wand raised.
As time passed, doubts started to creep into her mind. Would he even come? Was she standing there for nothing? Was she beeing played a fool? She pushed these thoughts out of her mind once more, and crouched patiently. Oh, what she wouldn't give to be still up in the library, reading Romeo & Juliet. It may have been a muggle play, but it was a very good one. To pass the time, she recited the Chorus' speech at the beginning.
'Two households, both alike in dignity. In air Verona (where we lay our scene) ... What here shal miss, our toil shall strive to mend.'
Still time went on. Would this yiecjohn character ever show?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Impervio - Liquids run off, leaving the surface dry and water-proof. Repairo - Fix something. Homenum Reveilio - Reveil any hiding people. Alician Reveilio - Reveil any invisible or disguised jinxes or curses. Collo manus - Stick hand.
