10 years later. Shadow and Jamies house.

Jamie ran down the stairs in a hurry, pulling on his sweater.
"hey..." he said to the person sitting on the stool in the kitchen...

"Have you gotten married or anything?" She asked. "I dont keep up with stuff around here, trying to find her," Violet asked.

Shaeman shook his head.
"Not many people want much to do with me."

Violet nodded and looked at Shadow. "Do you want to talk it over with Jamie?" She asked. "You need some sleep to." She said, pulling a cover of her.

Shadow nodded, curling up into a tighter ball and falling asleep.

Violet walked into the kitchen, getting herself something to drink.

Shaeman watched Shadow with a hint of sadness, tucking her violet hair behind her ear before joining Violet in the kitchen.

Violet sat at the kicthen table, drink her water. She saw Shaeman walk in and ignored him.

Shaeman saw this and bowed his head, walking outside. He morphed into a pegasus and touched noses with Merlas.

Violet held her head down and started crying. 'He wouldnt forgive me.' Violet thought. 'I should have never ran out.' She kept thinking.

Shaeman looked up at the stars, seeking answers, like he had done nearly every night.

Violet stood up. "Why am I blaming myself. He told Raven, if she hadnt known, I wouldnt have had to use that mudddy." Violet said threw gritted teeth and threw her cup at the wall.

Shaeman lay down, his horsish limbs curled under him, still gazing at the stars.

Violet walked into the living room, grabbing her jacket. Walking outside, she climbed into the tree house.

Shaeman was concentrating to hard no notice Violet.

Violet walked into the corner and opened her scrap book. Looking at the pictures of Shaeman, she took them out and sat them beside her.

Shaeman hauled himself to his feet, unfurled his wings, and took flight.

Violet looked out the window to see him fly off. Violet turned her head, more tears falling.

Shaeman flew upwards before crying out in a powerful whinny, frustrated by the lack of answers.

Violet looked again, not seeing him. Violet held her head down, tearing up the pictures. "I love you." She said, tears pouring from her eyes. After tearing up the pictures, she pulled her legs up to her chest, crying harder then ever.

Shaeman dived straight down as fast as possible, plowing into the ground. He curled up in the crater he had made, allowing the mud to seep over his coat. He may his head down, tears leaking out his eyes.

Violet stood up, still crying, and walked back inside Chaning into her night clothes, she curled up on the floor and fell asleep

Shadow woke up as Violet came in and padded outside. Seeing Shaeman she sighed. He looked up at his sister, tears still flowing. She called softly to Merlas, and fetched two harnesses for the pegusi. Putting one on Shaeman, and one onMerlas, she tied rope between them and urged Merlas on, pulling him out of the crater.

Once he was out, he just flopped down, not wanting to move. Shadow untied thetwo and watched as Merlas' mother instinct took over and she began to clean the mud off Shaeman. Shadow patted the mare's neck.
"You're carrying a foal, I'm carrying cubs, how do you deal with it?" She asked the mare. Merlas looked at Shadow briefly before turning back to Shaeman, but Shadow knew exactly what she had meant.

Violet woke up after a while and looked to see Shadow gone. Thinking the wosre, she jumped up. Walking to the door she looked for her. "Shadow are you out here?" She asked, covering her arms from the cold.

SHadow had fallen asleep again, curled up next to Merlas, who was sheltering her with one wing. Shaeman was also dozing, but standing upright.

Violet walked out side, after grabbing a coat. Wishing she hd some longer shorts she walked around. "Come on, I know they didnt take you yet." She mumbled, looking around.

Merlas, who had been dozing as well, looked up at Violet. She tucked her wing tighter around Shadow, hiding her from view.

Violet pete Merlas. "You havent seen Shadow have you?" She asked it, knowing she wouldnt get a answer. Violet huffed and saw Sheaman. "You should get inside before you catch something" She mumbled

Merlas put her head on one side and Shaeman woke, stretching his wings.
I've got a thick coat. I'm not cold.

Merlas watched Violet carefully, nickering something to Shaeman. He responded, and Merlas lifted her wing slightly, showing SHadow asleep next to her.

Violet looked at him but said nothing. Noticing Merlas, Violet looked at her and saw Shadow. "Thank God. I thought they took her." She whispered. "I;m not going to be able to pick her up." Violet said, looking at Shaeman.

Merlas is a war horse, you can count on her keeping SHadow safe. Shaeman assured Violet.

"She is pregnant, have you forgotten." Violet hissed.

Shaeman snorted.
And Merlas is already a mother. Some animals can help. SHadow is really close to Merlas. They protect each other.

"I happen to be a mother to, but I dont have my child thanks to you." Violet sneered.

Thanks to me!? Shaeman exclaimed, rearing up, ears pinned back, wings flared in annoyance.

"You had to tell Raven didnt you." Violet said. "Her finding out made me go and get that...that mudblood." Violet said.

Shaeman charged towards Violet before stopping just in front of her. He kept his ears pinned to his neck, his eyes flashing with anger.
I told her NOTHING. She searched my mind, and my barriers were not enough. He snarled through minds. Merlas was on her feet in seconds, rearing next to Violet, hooves flailing at Shaeman. He retaliated, snaking his neck to bite her, but Merlas was too quick, delivering a kick to his side.

Violet closed her eyes after hearing what he said. Opening her eys again, she saw Shaeman on the ground. "Oh my God." She whispered, walking to him. "Are you ok?" She asked.

Shaeman hauled himself to his feet, head bowed in submission. Merlas stood tall before lying down again next to Shadow, protecting her with a wing.

Shaeman twisted his head round, beginning to lick one of the many hoof-shaped bruises and cuts, along with the bites.

"Maybe you should turn into your human form and go inside so I can clean those out." Violet mumbled.

The pegasus looked at her before morphing, turning into a rather battered humanoid.

"Come on." Violet mumbled to him. "Please take care of her." Violet said to Merlas. Violet walked back inside Shadow's house.

Merlas dipped her head to show that she understood and lay her head down.

Shaeman limped towards the house.

Violet took him to the kitchen. "Here sit here." She said, pulling out a chair.

Shaeman sat down gingerly.
"I wish Shadow could have told me that she told Merlas to look after you as well."

"What?" Violet asked, pulling out some wash rags and a bowl.

"She wouldn't have reacted like that to me if Shadow hadn't told her to watch over you." Shaeman explained, putting his head on the table.

"Oh." Violet said, filling the bowl with water. Walking over to him, she started cleaning out his wounds.

Shaeman flinched at Violet touched the cuts, but tried to stay still.

Shadow woke up outside and looked at Merlas. The pegasus nickered gently and nuzzled her. Shadow fell asleep again.

Violet finished up and stood back up, only to step on the glass from ealier. "ow." She mumbled, sitting down on the floor. "I forgot about that." She said, pikcing the glass from her foot.

Shaeman looked at Violet.
"Thank you."
