Fandom Drabble Challenges

Welcome to the challenge!

Your challenge is this:

Write a drabble for each of the fandoms in the list below (or as many as you want - you dont have to do them all!). A drabble is a short, self-contained fiction, which should ideally be exactly 100 words long.

Please put all your drabbles into one post (editing as you make them) clearly titling each drabble with the fandom name.

*Doctor Who

"Rose..." The Doctor began, but his sentence faltered. Rose raised an eyebrow towards him. It wasn't like him to be at a loss for words.
"Yes? Did you want to ask me a question?"
Clearing his throat, he shook his head. Shrugging her shoulders, Rose turned headed back towards the Tardis..
The Doctor took out the small, simply wrapped box from his pocket.
"She wouldn't have liked you anyways." He said to the box before chucking in into a rubbish bin. Perhaps he would take Rose somewhere speacial for her birthday. Somewhere she'd love.

*Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Angel smiled at Willow, who eyed him nervously. Actually, she was eyeing his teeth nervously, but so far no sign of fangs.
"Buffy should be back soon. I don't what's taking her so long" she said. Angel's smile just got wider.
"She's probably off killing vampires." he said nonchantly.
Willow gulped audiably, this time causing Angel to laugh. Her throat was suddenly dry, so she stood up and to get a water bottle from her bookbag.
"Can I get you something to drink?" As soon as the words were said Willow paled.
"No thanks, you're not my blood type." Angel joked.

*Charmed
The storm outside shook the attic with it's thunderous power. Paige flipped through the book of spells, reading by the flickering candle light. She was in a strange mood, part boredom, part restlessness. Maybe something in the book would perk her up.
Suddenly a demon appeared in the attic. She immediatly used her magic to banish him, but this demon was particularly strong. She jumped and rolled away as it came forward to attack her, and hit him again with her magic. This time it worked. The demon was gone, and suddenly Paige wasn't so bored.

*Friends
The One Where The Friends Win Big

Gathered in Chandler and Monica's house, the gang were still snacking and drinking wine. For once all the kids were crashed out..
"Okay, it's time!" cried Monica, turning the tv on. Everyone stopped talking and watched the numbers for the lottery being drawn, which Monica faithfully recorded in her notebook.
"Okay, who's got the tickets?"
Ross handed them over to his sister. Conversation picked up while Monica checked numbers, no one expecting anything.
"Oh my God, you guys! We won!" she cried.
"How much?"asked Joey.
"Big, We won the whole thing!" Silence reigned for several moments, but soon everyone was screaming in excitement.

Disclaimer: I have never, ever watched a single episode of Skins, so this is based on only what I could pick up from Wikipedia!

Bella looked up as Edward and Alice raced into the house.
"Bella!" Edward shouted, frantic at seeing her on the floor covered in gore.
Alice's eyes stared wide at the bloody scene.
"Wow, I never saw this happening!"
"What happened? Bella, please, talk to me!" Edward implored.
"Jane came, said she wanted to see what I was like as a vampire, but she really came to fight me. I didn't mean to kill her, I was trying to get away. But I tripped, and somehow, well, I beheaded her when I went to grab her for support."
Alice snorted,
"That's your super power Bella! You klutziness is deadly!" Alice continued to laugh as Bella glared at her.

His Dark Materials

Lyra lay in bed, listening to the distant sound of thunder draw ever nearer. Pan, in ferret form, had burrowed under her arm, hiding from the approaching storm. Lyra was not. She welcomed the storm, welcomed the adventure it would bring with it. In the morning she and Billy and some other local children would be able to earn a little money for cleaning up if the storm was particularly bad. Then they could take it to buy some sweets.

Lyra drifted off, just as the storm broke over her roof, the taste of memories lingering in her mouth.

Hichhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

Arthur raced to the guide, hands trembling as he searched for information on Wrentas.

::::: Wrentas are unpleasant creatures from Star 9, although their origins are a little fuzzy. They are quite deadly, and you should avoid contact at all cost. :::::

Arthur gave a frustrated cry, as a Wrenta was, this very moment, breaking down the door. He hit the guide hard.

:::: Wrentas can only be defeated by clapping hands. One should be careful to continue clapping,if stopped it will break the trance and anger the Wrentas. ::::

Arthur dropped the book and began to clap madly.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Dear Friend,

I must ask that you do not continue reading this drabble, as you very life may be at risk. This drabble, about the lives of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, had been known to cause severe depression, skin rash, fear of dark places, fear of light places, fear of all places, hair chewing, nail biting, and rabies. Instead of reading this drabble, why not pick up a nice drabble full of romantic vampires and sisterly witches?

No? Very well then. In was a rainy day on the beach, and the Baudelaires were once again on the sandy shores...

Pirates of the Caribbean

Jack woke up, not knowing where he was. Not a completely new experience to him, so he knew that rum was most likely the culprit. He groped around, hoping to find a bottle not fully drained.

The door to the small bedroom slammed open, a big angry man filled the doorway.

"You're not her brother! She's an only child!" he shouted.

"I can see you're a bright fellow, master of the house and all that. But I am her brother. We have matching birthmarks. See?" Jack suddenly thrust his hand forward, breaking the brute's nose and crawled under the howling man's legs, escaping.

The TARDIS whirred into action landing softly onto an unknown planet. The doctor stepped forth from the TARDIS onto the ground of this new planet.
“O this is brilliant” he said breaking into a smile.
“I don’t see what’s so brilliant about some dumb deserted planet” Donna said coming side by side with the doctor.
“Ah Donna…donna…donna”
“Don’t you donna me in that tone, why can’t we just get back on the TARDIS and go some place interesting work on my tan a bit.” She replied with a grin.
“So much new life, new stuff to explore o this is fun”

Twilight

Bella looked up into Edwards eyes feeling the usual warmth spread through her body. She would never get tired of looking at his perfectly structured faced. Moving her hands towards his face she stroked it gently still marvelling in this surreal beauty of his. Bringing both hands to his cheeks Bella pushed herself forwards and her lips came in contact with his. He was so fragile with her so perfect. She waited for him to pull away as usual but he continued, the kiss slowly becoming more and more passionate, this time it was Bella who pulled away.

“Lyra where are you going, wait up!” Pan cried as he scrambled after her his feet smacking hard against the ground.
“Look pan look, look at the sky” she said coming to a stop and pointing upwards. Pan scrambled atop of her and gazed in awe at the sky.
“What you all looking at” Billy costa asked
“No of your business Billy” Lyra said curtly turning around to see Billy and his usual friends terrorising Rodger.
“What were you looking at the sky for there aint nothing there.” Everyone looked up and sure enough the shapes had disappeared.

“Klaus, Klaus hurry up!” Violet cried holding onto sunny tightly she began to run. Count Olaf at her heals. Far behind her she could hear Klaus scrambling down from a building. Her heart thumped wildly as she heart the evil count Olaf’s breath on her neck. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a ribbon and hurriedly tied her hair back of her face.
Far away in the distance Klaus saw this act being done and with a knowing smile watched as his older sisters devised a plan to help them escape the clutches of Count Olaf.

Jack walked along the beach the water splashing up against his legs singing merry sea shanty’s as he walked, he was drunk. “Well, well, well what do we have here, I think it old Jack don’t you.” He said turning towards his friends. They laughed in mock and scorn as Jack stumbled dropping his rum bottle on the ground. This mysterious stranger produced a sword and held it out in front of him.
“Its Captain Jack to you” he replied drawing his own sword out Jack began to run in the opposite direction grabbing his rum bottle as he went.

Doctor Who (I never saw this show so I hope I didn’t do too bad XD)

The doctor walked out of the Tardis and looked around at his surroundings. There wasn’t much to see and it looked like a desert.

“I wonder what all is here?” the doctor said looking around but he failed to find anything. Then all of a sudden the ground under his feet gave way and he tumbled down deep into the Earth. Once he stopped falling he sat up and looked around. There in front of him appeared to be a small city that was underneath the surface of the planet.

“Strange” the doctor said as he jumped to his feet.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

“’Ello Buffy” Spike said popping out of nowhere and walking behind Buffy.

“What is it this time Spike?” Buffy asked him as she continued to walk acting as though she didn’t even seen him.

“Shouldn’t you be running away seeing as to how I’m a vamp.” Spike said joggin up til he was in front of Buffy.

“I might if you were a threat to me” Buffy replied

“Me?” Spike said “Not a threat. I could suck out all of your blood right now you know?”

“Not before I stabbed this stake into your heart” Buffy said giving him a smile.

Charmed

“We must kill the charmed ones” said one of the evil demons plotting to kill the charmed ones. All of a sudden the charmed ones orbed in behind the demons

“Haven’t you guys learned yet” said Paige “Every times you guys try to kill us we end up defeating you.”

The second demon turned to the first and said “She does have a point”

“Shut up fools” called out the first one. “Kill them”

“I’d rather live” said the third one and he ran out of the room. The charmed sisters tried to hold back their laughter as the second did the same.

Friends

“Lollipop, lollipop, I love lollipops” sang Phoebe as she sat outside in the park. As many people walked by the would stop and watch her for a few minutes before continuing on with their way talking about how she was singing to herself. Phoebe wasn’t not only sitting there by herself but she also had a lollipop in her hand and was singing between licks. “I love lollipops they are so yummy. Yummy, yummy, yummy lollipop. I wish that I was a lollipop, then I would be loved by all.” She continued to sing not noticing others who were laughing.

Skins(I never seen this one either so I made this up too… it’s dumb but it’s done XD)

Maxxie walked into a restaurant and many girls were coming up to him and giving him huge smiles. He returned them not wanting to be rude and quickly found a table for himself. He picked up the menu and soon as of those smiling girls disappeared and all he had to look at was what to get. After looking at his list for awhile a waiter came by and said “May I take your order?”

“Naw” Maxxie said. “I think Ill just leave” and with that he got up and left but the girls were still eyeing him making him feel uncomfortable.

Twilight

“Bella I’m throwing you a batcher let party!” Alice squealed as took out a piece of paper and started to write down everything that she was going to need.

“No please don’t” Bella said as she tried to take the paper from her but couldn’t. “I wish that I was a vampire already” she added

“That will happen after the wedding but first we need to focus on your party” Alice exclaimed as she quickly wrote down everything and the placed the paper in her pocket. “I got it planned now to go shopping”

“Already?” Bella asked amazed.

His Dark Materials (I don’t know anything about this either XD)

“Follow me I found something” Lyra said as she ran down the hill. All of the sudden she stopped running and turned around. “Where did everyone go?” she asked getting scared.

“Im here” said as voice and turning towards that direction she couldn’t see anything.

“I don’t see you” she called back turning around in circles trying to find someone.

“I’m behind you” said the voice fading

“Don’t go” Lyra called out but she couldn’t find the voice. She sat down on the ground and after a few minutes her friends appeared.

“That’s strange” she said looking at them

“I’m so miserable” said Marvin as he walked around the ship.

“So sould you” said Eddie in his cheerful voice “Today is such a wonderful day.”

“Don’t give me wonderful day.” Marvin replied. “It’s been horrible. Stuck with others who don’t even have one, one thousandth of the IQ I have.”

“Well then go solve a Sudoku” said Author.

“That’s just an insult to me” Marvin said. “Ill just come stand here and be useless like usual and think about hoe pathetic life is” he added as he stood beside Eddie.

“Hello” said Eddie and Marvin groaned “Oh no not you”

A Series of Unfortunate Events

“Sunny can bit this” Violet said as she pulled out a piece of string for her to bit into smaller pieces. “We need then to be all equal lengths or it will not work at all”

Sunny nodded and started to munch away.

“I think I found something” Claus said holding up a piece of paper. “It says where are parents are at”

“Let me see” Violet said while she jumped to her feet and looking at the paper. “Where is this?” she asked him

“In Brazil” Claus said

“Brazil here we come” said Violet looking out to sea

Pirates of the Caribbean

“Do you know the story of the Flaberstan” Jack asked Will

“No” Will replied

“Well if you kill this-“ Jack stopped

“Flaberstan” shouted one of his crew mates

“Yea that thing then you will get Elizabeth back” Jack said

“I think your lying” Will replied and then the ship stopped moving and a giant sea bird appeared.

“There’s the Flaberstan now” Jack said smiling. “Why don’t anyone ever believe me?”

“Maybe it’s just your character Jack” Will said as he drew out his sword.

“Must be” Jack said “Some of the time I don’t even believe me”

Because the food was gone and my friends blamed me.
I got my cart and went down an aisle

Phoebe strummed her guitar and a melancholy minor chord hung in the air of Central Perk for a moment before the small group on the couches applauded. She beamed at them, cleared her throat and said into the mic, “Thanks! This next song I like to call ‘The Dairy Section.’” She shifted the guitar on her lap, strummed it and sang, “Oh why, oh why is it so cold?...”

“Put him out of his misery, it’s painful to watch.”

I laughed. Between Emmett and me our hands were clasped in an epic struggle – an arm wrestling match. Toying with him like this was cruel, I know, making him think that he had a chance. With a thud our hands landed on the table, his beneath mine. Nothing usually bothered Emmett, but when his ego was played with…

He stormed off; I saw an exchange of bills out of the corner of my eye. On my other side I saw the corners of Rosalie’s mouth turn up. If that doesn’t make this a victory, I don’t know what would.

HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE

Looking out at the expanse before him, Arthur sighed. Looking out his window hadn’t made space seem huge. Being up in it gave a different perspective, but he couldn’t help but feel insignificant, though Zaphod, Ford, and Trillian never seemed to. Would he have been better off left on Earth to die in the explosion? He didn’t think so. Maybe living in space just took time to get used to. As Marvin trudged by with a sigh that mirrored his own, he realized that maybe some weren’t made for this – and hoped to whatever gods there were that he was, for if not then what was he to do now?

UNFORTUNATE EVENTS

Another uncomfortable bench to sit on at yet another train station. Sunny swung her feet back and forth, feet not touching the ground beneath them. Above her head her older siblings were quietly discussing this turn in events. They were off to another home once again. The station was suddenly filled with a booming rumble, and Violet and Klaus stood.

“Come on, Sunny,” said Violet softly, holding her hand out to her. On her other side Klaus was doing the same thing. She reached up and took the small, capable hands that had led her from distant relative to distant relative as safely as they could, smiling her toothy smile.

Waking up in mid-nineteenth century Australia, eating breakfast in 1950s Venice, lunch with Mum back at home, dinner in early twentieth century America, and sleeping in late twenty-first China…

What had she done in a day before the Tardis?

Gotten up in the apartment, snagged a granola bar for breakfast, gone to work, eat lunch in the food court, back to work and home by seven to order out for Chinese before falling into a fitful sleep.

Rose smiled, turning over in the bed, and wondered what the Doctor had in store for tomorrow. These were days she could get used to.

DARK MATERIALS

Growing up. They were growing up so fast, and it was harder now, for some reason. Lyra was distracted, just starting on her dinner. Now was as good a time as any to try…

Ermine, butterfly, turtle.

Labrador, robin, rattlesnake.

Spider, pelican, rabbit.

Catching sight of the movement, she turned in her seat. “You all right, Pan?” Lyra asked, mouth full, raising her eyebrows. Quickly transforming back into an ermine, their most comfortable form recently, Pan slinked back into her lap.

“Just checking,” he replied softly, nuzzling his head against her hand.

The reflection in the mirror was primped to perfection from the tips of her shoes to the curls of her hair. The only thing missing in was a smile to light up the face, but with the air being shoved from her lungs by a criminally tight corset, a smile was a little much to ask.

Elizabeth hadn’t been near a mirror in months. Every inch of exposed skin had been tanned, covered in grime, hands calloused; her hair was sun bleached and thick with sea salt; her mismatched clothing would not be found in any store. Beside her stood the man she loved, his smile mirroring hers.

Charmed

Phoebe stared at the small crystal she held hanging by its chain as it swayed around and around over the map.

It didn’t stop.

She intensified her glare, willing it to stop. To tell her what she wanted to know.

It didn’t listen to her thoughts. She cursed and glared yet more fiercely. She swore it was mocking her by doing it all on purpose. Maybe it was some kind of conspiracy. Yes! Conspiracy. That made sense. The demons were casting a spell so that it didn’t work.

But damn if she didn’t want to know whether or not Santa were coming that year.

There was a clunking sound emitting from the truck. Bella frowned, staring at the hood of the truck. It didn’t sound good at all.

Suddenly there was a loud thunk! and the vehicle started to slow down, before rolling to a stop. Sweat beaded Bella’s brow as she walked around to the front of the truck.

She stared at the dark smoke that wafted upwards from the engine, and winced. It didn’t look good, not at all.

Bella pondered her options. She refused to say that her truck had passed on. But as she stood there, she noticed an oddly-shaped bump on the engine.

It was shaped like… a handprint.

The Kraken whimpered as the shards of metal bit into its flesh. The pain spread as more iron entered its body.

Flailing one of its tentacles, the Kraken knocked a human to the sea, bellowing its cry of anger as the tip of another tentacle was severed.

Bright blood had blossomed over its body, and the Kraken cried out as it was overwhelmed by the humans and the clawing metal.

Blood washed over its eyes, and strength left its body as more and more metal burnt into its flesh with ferocity and merciless intent.

The Kraken finally closed its eyes, and felt the ocean sweep its dying body away.

Chandler smiled and winked into the mirror. Quickly, he put his new glasses on and took them off several times. "With...without...with...without..." He muttered to himself.

"Chandler, what are you doing?" Monica asked as she gave him a strange look.

"I'm trying to decide if I'm more handsome with or without my glasses. Would you have slept with me if I was wearing glasses ?"

"Honey, I was drunk. I would have slept with Rachel if she was there." Monica laughingly said.

Joey quickly shoved a bottle of beer in Monica's hand. "You look thirsty. Drink this, Monica. Where's Rachel?!?"

Pirates of the Carribbean

Captain Jack Sparrow twirled a braid around his dusty finger. "Ah, yet if the person that calls parley negotiated with the person parleyed on that the parley person would accept a payment if the person parleyed on would concur, then the parley could be revoked as long as the challenge of parley would never be revealed to the person who created parley. That'd be the French. Savvy?"

Will stared at him in confusion for a few minutes before shaking his head. "Jack, that doesn't make sense."

Jack shook his head. "You know, I liked you better before you died."

"I used to just agree with everything you said."

"Exactly."
