Year book re-vamp!

OKay, it is my idea that we re-vamp the Year book!
I was just looking at it and saw that it hasn't been updated since the first year. Now i know that Elfie and all the staff don't have enough time to write all these out. So heres my idea of re-vamping the year book.

Everyone will pair up with a friend
(a list of people can be made in each common room, then the ones that are paired will be striked off so that people know who's free to ask)
then each will write a short paragraph about their friend.
Pictures must be included though, its not like a proper year book if you don't have a pic.
So get voting
good idea?

I've been thinking about possibly revamping the yearbook for a while. It's something we can perhaps look into. Any thoughts from anyone?

I think it is a good idea... I remember not long after joining sending in stuff for the yearbook, and then realizing it was not being updated haha. I realize they were busy though, so I forgot about it. This just reminded me, and I think it sounds good!

Yep - good idea. I also think it could actually be a good idea to split the work between the members, maybe the school heads (that would also be me, for the time being) and prefects could oversee it?

About the pics - I don't think it should be compulsory, after all, some people might not feel comfortable with publishing their picture online.

Just a thought - I believe our lat yearbook was on a freewebs site which has a limited number of images and pages allowed.

If we are you redo this we could do it on HE's own HTML page which would allow us more room and would be on our own server so only members could see.
Also another thought, although only myself and Amy can update the HTML pages, what we could do is get heads of house to collect information and images (photos or other) from house members to put onto yearbook and each month send me or amy the details to be added.

What do people think of this way?

I think moving it onto HE is a good idea.

About pictures - people could submit one if they wanted, or if they didn't want an actual photo, then they could make a doll or a graphic that they think represents them.

I like the idea of dolls... we would also have to make it easy for people to have their pictures removed if they felt uncomfortable.

Yes i think moving it to HE would be a good idea, but would taht not make the pages longer to load?

It shouldn't effect the loading of pages.

And i agree with Amy on the pictures thing, not everyone wants to or is allowed to, post their photo online, i can understand why as well. Making dolls for yourself if you cant submit a photo is something we used on the pensieve and it works well, plus its oodles of fun

Also, i dont mind collecting information for Hufflepuff House if eases the workloads of Sharon and Amy

I think it's a very good idea to do this.

I think the best way to do this would be to:
Get every head of house to round everyone up, everyone pairs up and each writes abit about eachother.
(maybe award like 50 housepoints to each that write one just to encourage them xD)
And then when all the information is gathered set up the forums and collect sll the information,
It would be best to sort the forums with houses eg

It would be great to have a year book. So i voted yes. and those are really good suggestions.

I dunno what the last yearbook looked like. And I have just found out that HE has a yearbook. Which was cool! So, I've voted yes, I kinda want to see what everybody looks like.

About the photo thing, I don't find any reason why others would not want to give their real photos. It was a yearbook after all. And as we all know it is an essential memorabilla from schools we've graduated or been in. We love HE, right? So, why not show everybody who we really are and be proud that we're a part of it? And besides we're the ones who'll be submitting it, so we can choose which photo to send. We should not even worry of getting bad feedbacks because of our photos cause 1. I'm sure everyone at HE were as friendly as ever, 2. everyone at HE is not judgmental, 3. everyone at HE is well-educated and 4. everyone here is sensitive enough to not do any reactions so bad!

(Hope we'd really have this yearbook thing. Anyhow, I'd be willing to help.)

I think it'd be great to bring the year book back.
I mostly agree with matt's idea to pair everyone up, since it seems like the way that the most people would be able to participate. Although if someone doesnt follow through and their partner still want an entry in the yearbook I guess somebody could get extra housepoints to write another one. xD

and I think the pictures thing was discussed earlier, but I don't think it should be mandatory to post a picture. There are plenty of reasons somebody might not want their picture online for everyone to see and you cant force somebody to show what they look like just to have an entry in the yearbook.

I still can't get the point. Hahahaha!! XD Sorry.
