Right then....

I can't be the only one who hated the hideous name, Renesmee?

I thought this monstrosity of a name deserved it's own thread!

Very very ugly name, I cringed when I first read it.

I've got to admit that I agreed much with Jacob when he said that it was a mouthful, because it is. And on top of that, it's doesn't even really suit her, because of all that's said she should have a really pretty name XD

I hated it at first, but it grew on me after a while. I agree, they could have chosen something prettier or better. What about Elizabeth? (sp?) But ah well. haha. Its just like J.K.R. Hugo, Albus Severus, and Scorpius... nothing we can do about it, just accept it.

Renesmee is not even a real name!

I am imploring you all, as future parents, as future baby namers, stop naming your children ridiculus names!! This needs to stop! A name can be unique without being traumatic. Please remember, just because you would have liked to be called Jananayaya Banana Button Hula Squirel does not mean your child will. And if you are going to stick your kid with a lame/stoner name, at least stick to the words that actually exist. Renesmee is not a real name!! The fact that Nessie is the lesser of the two evils says something. And I swear to you, as much of a Twilight fan as I am, if you call any of your children Renesmee after Bella's daughter, than my children WILL make fun of them. My sweet little Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun, and Edward the III.

When Bella first said she was going to call her child Renesmee, I burst into laughter and couldn't stop for a good five minutes, thinking that Bella was just insanely tired from her baby and would come to her senses and tell them all her real choice for a name in the next chapter. I was sadly disappointed when that turned out to be her real name. I do like Nessie better than Renesmee though. But she named her daughter after her mother, wouldn't her mother like to know about it? Did she even ever tell Renee that she had a child/turned-into-a-fawesome-vampire?

I think that Edward would give her anything she wanted even if he hated the name lol

I hated the name at first, though as she grew, it grew with her and seemed to really suit her. She is unique and so was her name.

I agree with Bella about hating the shorten (even though she warmed to it - traitor :D ) - fancy having a nickname after the lock ness monster

I agree muchly with Amy on that one, Nessie actually sounds reasonable XD Besides it does fit her pretty well anyway XD

I do hate the name lol after reading the name I sat there trying to make sense of it. And although I'm not to fond of Nessie either at least it's the lesser of two evils. It's easy to pronounce at least!

Besides Nessie could deal with the name Renesme. It's the only thing keeping her from being totally perfect. After all, in my opinion I think she's got the best deal out of all of them. She's still human, warm, able to sleep well, could go out in the sun yet still strong, fast, indestructible, and inhumanly beautiful. She's got the best of both worlds! Forget being a vampire, I want to be a "half breed" as Alice calls it. lol

I hated the name when I first saw it and actually subsituted another name instead. After reading it a few times, though, it really started to grow on me. Renesmee sounds better than Nessie to me though.

NOTE: When I first read Renesmee, I thought it was pronounced re-nay-smee.

I didn't hate renesmee. I like unique names. Granted, I wouldn't name my kid that but i defintly didn't hate it. And at least her middle name is normal : Carlie. But i hate the name Carlie so I like Renesmee better. And I hated her nickname. I thought they should have called her Mae as a nick name.

When I first read the name Reneesme I think I about keeled over! I was reading in my room at about 1:00 in the morning and one of my friends, who had also gotten the book, wasn't to that point yet so I ran into the bathroom and laughed, thinking that Edward would tell Bella how silly the name was and they'd name her something like Clarissa. But nooooo! Bella's insanity must be contagious because the poor little half breed got named Renesmee. I was so thankful when Jacob came up with the nickname because I was just thinking 'When I get to discuss this book with my friends, I'm going to have to say Renesmee a thousand different times... ugh.' Nessie sounds like a cute cuddly puppy or something adorable, even though it's the name of the Lochness Monster. Well, Nessie the sea creature was always one of my favorite mythical animals!

...I thought I had read wrong, but then I read the name over and over again, and seriously, it was like Deathly Hallows all over again!

But then again, I suppose Stephenie didn't want to give the baby-thing a totally random name, like... I don't know, Kimberly for example, but something original, and that would HOPEFULLY send the Twihards over the moon.

But I like Nessie :D It could seriously be a nickname from... Vanessa, but no. It's the Loch Ness monster xD How adorable! *will name her first daughter Nessie Alice*

Guess it was so funny when Bella pounced on Jake for naming her daughter after the lock ness monster, i chuckled for about 20 minutes on that one XD

I really like the name. I'm someone who likes weird names. I think its really cute....hehe. I do like it though. But it took a few minutes to grow on me.

Wow...I'm shocked that people don't like that name...I think it's *hides* pretty. Yes, I do think it is a nice name...quite a mouthful, no doubt. But there are plenty of nicknames they could have given her...Nessie is a cute on, but like Caro said it suits a Vanessa more.

And maybe I like it because I have a weird name...and I want to name my kid Hazel, which is suppposedly weird...but whatever!
