| Harry Potter Olympics
Has the whole world gone Olympic mad? Maybe, though I was already mad so you can let me off!
Your challenge is to pick 10 Harry Potter characters and place them in two olympic events each. No event can be shared by more than one character.
You must give a short reason why you think they would be good in that event.
To give you an idea of the events either check the main Olympic sites or look in the event forum here at HE!
Possible Points All participating members : 200 (20 per character)

| HARRY POTTER OLYMPICS
100m sprint -Hannah Abbott would be good for this because it's a short race and she won't have time to psych her self out and have another nervous breakdown.
Shooting-Hannah Abbott isn't too atheltic but she is very accurate with her spells...like her shield charm she used to help out the DA
200m sprint-Hermione Granger isn't very athletic, so her stamina isn't the best...but if she imagined a dementor chasing after her, she could out run anyone.
Archery--Hermione Granger is deadly accurate with everything she does. I have no doubt she would hit a bulls eye each time.
10,000m long distance race-Lily Potter has a heart of gold and can achieve whatever she puts her mind to. This is a long race, but she has lots of determination.
Fencing-Lily Potter is fantastic at whatever she does. She has the self discipline to achieve greatness in this event.
300m Hurdle-James Potter is a fierce competitor and I think once he puts his mind to something he will so whatever it takes, even if it's a tough challenge.
Baseball-James Potter is a wholesome family guy, and that's how baseball is...laid back and just there to have fun.
Marathon-Katie Bell is used to playing long quidditch games so she has really good stamina and is very athletic. She would excel in this event.
Equestrian-Katie Bell is a great seeker, and I think those skills would help her out with this event.
Shot Put-George Weasley would be excellent at this event. It doesn't take much athletisism and not too much skill is involved. I think George would have fun throwing them at people he disliked.
Table Tennis-George Weasley likes to have fun and is very active, so this event is right up his alley.
Javelin-Sirius Black seems really laid back and this is an event that doesn't take too much effort, although he may be inclined to toss the stick at anyone he doesn't like.
Heptathalon-Sirius Black is also a jack of all trades, making him perfect for this event.
Pole Vault-Ginny Weasley is light as a feather and would be able to crush her competition in this event as she easily floated over any height.
Gymnastics -Ginny Weasley is lythe and flexible and her little frame would be able to twist and turn and make it look like a cake walk.
Pentathalon-Ron Weasley is an all around great athlete and has shown he can do great things, this event wouldn't be hard for him.
Tennis-Ron Weasley is very competetive and I think he would do well in a one on one competition.
Decathalon-Harry Potter is good at just about everything he tries...therefore I think he would be the best qualified given his past experiences.
Diving-Harry Potter has obviously had some practice with this one in the Twiziard Tournament...as long as gillyweed is allowed.

| Fleur Events: Ice Skating and Rythmnic gymnastics. Why she is Ideal for the sports: With her beauty and grace she is easily at home on the ice, able to glid across the cool surface like a silken french flower. Rythmnic gymnasts have the long, graceful muscles that Fleur has, and she is as graceful on the floor as she is on the ice.
Draco Malfoy Events: Winter Biathalon and Fencing Why he is Ideal for the sports: The winter biathalon consists of skiing cross country combined with target shooting. No doubt Draco and his father, had they been muggles, would have been expert shots and big game hunters. This is a sport that no doubt Draco could easily sneak in his magic ablilites. Fencing in for Draco another form of dueling, where is rapier is in place of his wand. Again, a few muttered spells, wand hidden in the handle of his sword, and it's gold medals galore for Malfoy.
Oliver Wood Events: Soccer and Baseball Why he is ideal for the sports: Oliver Wood has a competitive team spirit, which in the magical world he uses in Quidditch. In the muggle olympics his dedication to excellance and his ability to run a team would be priceless.
Ginny Weasley Events: Gymnastics and Handball Why she is Ideal for the sports: Tiny Ginny is full of strength and determination, making her the equivilant of gymnast Shaun Johnson. She would also be ideal for the sport of handball, much like Oliver Wood, Ginny enjoys teams sports where she shines just as brightly (if not brighter) than her red headed siblings.
Cho Events: Equestrian and Table Tennis Why she is Ideal for the sports: There are few Ravenclaws that don't enjoy both horses and ping pong, er, table tennis. With her striking looks and fine posture, Cho is a natural seated upon a horse. Likewise, as another Quidditch player turned Muggle olympian, Cho enjoys competitve table tennis, using her wits and quick reflexes to win.
Harry Potter Events: Wrestling and Diving Why He is Ideal for these sports: Harry feels the need to rush in save the day, but he is also set apart from his fellow classmates, therefore he is better suited to individual events. For him wrestling is a way to prove his strength even though he is not as big as his best friend, Ron. As he proved in the TriWizard Tournament, he can handle water, but the danger of diving would attract him to this sport, rather than just swimming. Harry is at times a danger magnet himself, so he is sure to make risky dives.
Ron Weasley Events: High jump and Hurdles Why he is Ideal for these sports: With his long skinny legs, Ron was made for these two events. The high jump in particular is good for him, since he lost his fear of heights as a young boy flying on a broomstick. Hurdling is as easy as walking for him, as Harry will often tell him to imagine being chased by spiders.
Hermione Granger Events: Ski Jumping and Snow Boarding Why she is Idealfor these sports: Hermione Granger may be a bookworm, but she is by no means unathletic. Her parents often took her on ski trips and on these occasions Hermione was able to break out of her studious role and take to the slopes with ease. Ski jumping and snow boarding give a satisfying rush of adrenaline that normally she only gets to feel when she punches Draco Malfoy. Plus it helps keep her physically fit, which of course aids her immense brain power.
Hagrid Events: Weightlifting and Discus Throw Why he is Ideal for the sports: His physical superiority is without question. Hagrid is very attached to his home country and would do just about anything to bring home the gold for his motherland. Weightlifting for his isn't too far off from carrying Fang around, and the discus throw is as easy as tossing meat to the Thestrals.
Neville Longbottom Events: Tennis and 100m Track Event Why he is Ideal for these sports: Under the considerable pressure of his Grandmother, Neville took up tennis as a way to approve his wand hand. What he lacks in coordination he makes up in sheer determination. Once Neville lost the fear of tennis balls and loud noises, ther was no stopping him. The 100m is a short run, which Neville exceeds in. While he is not in perfect shape, he is able to run away fast and quick when the sitituation (read bully) calls for it.

| Harry Potter Archery - his ability as a seeker will help him BMX - i think he would like the speed and the andrenaline
Ginny Weasley gymnmastics - she's lithe and flexible 10m hurdles
Fred Weasley shot put - his aptitude in deknoming would go to good use here judo - i think he would get a kick out of it
Dudley Dursley boxing - he's already had training, therefore he has an advantage swimming - his parents put him through lessons
Sirius Black fencing - his skill as a dueler would help him here javelin - i think his stregnth would be useful
Draco Malfoy 100m sprint - I think his competitive nature would help him here Baseball - his skill in quidditch would help
Dean Thomas Soccer - he likes it from growing up, would like the oppertunity to play diving - I can see him as a diver for some reason - he seems athletic enough to me XD
Lavender Brown Equestrian - she liked the unicorns in CoMC, horses are similar Ice Skating - she seems graceful and well balanced
Lord Voldemort Marathon - being on the run from Aurors have built up his stamina Decathalon - he wants to be the best at everything - here's his shot
George Weasley Steeple chase - I think he would have fun in this event 4 x 100m relay - he's a team player and would do a good job

| Harry Potter Olympics
Fencing – Harry Potter with the amount of fights he’s been in he’s an expert. Not to mention the whole slaying a Snake with a sword thing.
Diving – Harry Potter Triwizard tournament? Yet again such another Harry Potterafied sport. Hes perfect for this with his experience and stamina.
Gymnastics – Fleur shes a very delicate and precise woman and I feel this graceful sport is perfect for her. Also Fleur was in the triwizard tournament so shes got to have some skills.
Ice Skating – Fleur she’s a very graceful person and I think it would be perfect for her. The elegance which she seems to posses. And with her part-vela in her I feel that it would automatically make her a graceful person.
100M sprint – Ron he gets really nervous very quickly and doesn’t like people looking at him but when he does perform its great. So a quick 100M sprint will save him any embarrassment as it will be over quickly.
100M Hurdles – Ron Same as the 100M sprint but I feel he will also be good at this one because of his height Ron is always described as being tall so getting over them hurdles should be no problem.
Tennis – Ginny She’s a very competitive woman and I think the one and one competition would really suit her. She’s got a really good aim and an excellent stamina she’d bounce that ball to victory.
Marathon – Ginny has a brilliant stamina as I said before I also feel like she has the right attitude and determination that could drive her to win this event.
Skiing – Hermione She’s been on skiing holidays with her family so I’m sure she’s great at it. Hermione has a lot of brains and I believe she read all the books on how to ski before she went so knows every little trick there is.
Tobogganing – Hermione I feel this sport would be great for Hermione as she’s not really doing a physical activity and with practise and her love for boffing up on the subject I think its quite achievable for her as I believe though I’m not quite sure that it would be all about issuing the right pressure for certain turns. Equestrian – Neville Remember how well he did with the theastrals I feel Neville would love this sport and it also doesn’t require thought if done a lot it can been seen as easy and his love for the animals will make this sport easy for him.
Football/Soccer – Neville He’s not really the most confident of characters so I feel that with the support of a team he will be able to excel. In addition to that Neville always worked along side people for example helping Harry so I feel a team sport like football would really suit him.
Taekwondo – James Potter To me James seems like the sort of person who would take up a Martial art simply for the reason of showing of. In Taekwondo there’s a lot of ‘flashy’ kicks used so I feel he’d choose this over any other martial art.
Table Tennis – James Potter I’ve never really viewed this as a real sport though it is but I can just imagine James Potter wasting his time in the common room playing Table Tennis.
Archery – Sirius Black Coming from the family which he does he would have been likely to keep family traditions like this up. I also feel that he would have perfected this sport like James to show of. Having a perfect aim.
Baseball – Sirius Black In his younger day he always come across to me as a team player. Having his friends to back him up in everything he does. I think he would excel in Baseball as long as he was captain of the team.
Javelin – Lily Potter Javelin is about being precise at the correct moment. I think this would suit Lily because of her nature. She’s very determined and I think like Hermione her intelligence would help her in this situation as she would be able to put her mind to the concept and achieve.
300M Sprint – Lily Potter Although Lily is intelligent she is also an athletic person I feel that she would do well in this sport again she has to put her mind to it and concentrate on the task in hand.
Wrestling – Hagrid simply who would want to wrestle with Hagrid hes so large and muscular and nothing really hurts him. He’s bound to win in any wrestling match.
Weightlifting – Hagrid Again hes strong and built for a sport like this. He could go on worlds strongest man and still lift more. Hagrid’s half giant blood posses him with this ability and I think he should use it to his strengths.
