A Closer Look at Tarot Cards

Tarot cards are usually printed on thick cardboard type cards rather then thin, flimsy playing cards. Each tarot deck has at least two parts to it, the trumps cards (also known as the major acana or atouts). The trump cards consist of 21 cards and a fool card. A few examples of these cards are the hermit, magician, high priestess, hanged man, lovers, tower, exc. The magician card symbolizes sharpness, wit, and creativity. The high priestess is the representation of intuition and wisdom. The lovers card obviously stands for love and romance but also attraction to the opposite personality and being prepared for the worst as well as standing firm to your beliefs. Yet not all violent bad pictures are for the worst. The Hanged Man card actually represents a change in life and inspiration. And one of the worst images on the card is the Tower card. It is an image of a burning tower on a hill with two bodies screaming as they fall out of the window in terror. This card is actually a card that symbolizes sudden change, new insight, release of tension and pain, and breaking down walls for new life.

The court cards (also known as the pip card and the minor acana) are the other part of the deck. These cards are regular playing cards with numbers and images of cups, swords, rods, and coins.

These two cards are the Hermit card and the Fool card. The Hermit card symbolizes the insolation in life. It is a card that shows that you are at a crossroad in your life that needs alot of thought and decisions. It shows growth throughout life and thoughtfulness of your choices. This person needs to get away from the distractions of life and go deep into himself to find the right decision. The Fool card is a card that symbolizes deceit. Either it has been done to you are you are the one being deceitful This card shows that you are not being true to yourself and well as to other people.
