Hi,
I know this has nothing to do with HE, but i would really really appreciate it if somebody could just help me out with some answers.

On this other forum that i'm on, a ridiculous amount of spam has recently appeared, with threads to adult sites which is really innapropriate as it is a music appreciation site. Admin cannot be contacted, as the email link to them has been disabled and i was just wondering if anybody knew of a solution.

Is it MSN? If so there should be a little spam button at the top. Click it and it will go into your spam box, then just delete your spam box everyonce in a while... I know there not going away completely but at least you have them re directed away from your inbox.

What's the adult sites?

I doubt it's MSN, since she said it's the other forum she's on. And, just wondering, doesn't it have one of these wonderful "Report" buttons we have here on the HE? Probably not since you might have seen it, but hey sometimes people miss the most obvious things (or at least that's what I do all the time xD). Other than that....well I for one think it's really weird the admin can't be contacted. Maybe just stay off the forum for a while?

MSN ain't a forum, is it? Maybe it's a misunderstanding on my part, but as far as I know MSN is a messenger and not a forum. And on a messenger, there wouldn't be threads with links nor would there be an admin or an email link. Though that's only what I think...

Have you tried mods? Or older members of the site? That could help. Otherwise, I dont know what you could.

If you can not contact the admin in any way then this is a concern to begin with as it does not sound like a very safe site, yet that is mainly my opinion as I am always around (I hear you all moan!!). Obviously it is not for me to say what sites people go on though one without admin around to contact is perhaps a worrying idea.

Is there any options to disable emails from that site, perhaps within your profile?

Also there may be a report button like we have here on HE at the very bottom of the homepage?

Are these emails you are recieving from the same emai address just with links in them? If so, could you block that email addy in your email?

Its not generally emails, its just regular posts on the main forum thats the problem, and unfortunately the 'Report/Contact Us' option has been disabled..

Thanks for your help, we have just moved to a new site to ditch the spammer in the hope that they will eventually leave
