| I always liked him :D Well, ever since he went on Conan O'Brien - he's funny xD
No, honestly... I automatically liked "the other guy" (whoever it would be), as soon as I heard that McCain was an old warhero - that's the first alarm bell going off right there! The man's a nutter! He'll start World War 3! NO NO NO!!!!!!
*dies a little*
Anyway.
I'm glad Obama won - about time the White House got some colour xD
...and I do mean that in the most un-racist way possible, of course.
There will come the day when the world will see a black, woman, lesbian human being walk into the White House as a president.
That would be cool xD | |

| It's huge for our nation. I think most people believed there would be a woman president before an African American president. It's amazing to know that my children, this new generation being born and raised, are going to see Obama as our Commander in Chief. That it is not something that they will even question. It takes us one step closer to being a colorblind nation. No matter what side of the political spectrum you find yourself, this is huge! XD
McCain actually gave a very nice speech, where he urged those that had supported him to lend their goodwill to Obama, to acknowledge what an important victory this was for our nation. So that was really good to hear a warmhearted speech rather than a bitter "We'll win the White House back in 2012!" speech that it could have been.
How wonderful to have a new president who won with the clear majority!!! Although before he ran Obama had an extremely liberal voting policy, I believe that he will stick to his campaign promises, to be the voice of change, to really reach across the aisle and try to find solutions that the whole nation can accept, liberal, moderate, and conservative. Obama won because he is so good at inspiring hope, something our nation needs so much.
This is all just so awesome, and I hope that he is successful in elevating our country not just in our eyes, but in the eyes of the world. XD

| I BEAT YOU ALL!!!!!
Well not really.
I got into a fight about him today.
I live in Alabama and its the most Racist state there is.
You say you dont like him, they accuse you of that.
Make a long story short, me and my cousin plus the other two chicks got into it over our ideas about each canidate.
We didnt like him, doesnt make us racist. We had our reasons why we didnt like him, and it had nothign to do with him being black.
And he isnt African American is he? I thought his mom was white and his dad was Muslim.....oh well.
Election is done, big whoop, life goes on....and more fights accure.
But maybe it was good he won....I dont know, I'm not old enough to vote. But I'm just afraid that he is to *young* and he isnt ready for this yet.

| His father was raised in the Islamic faith, but is from Kenya...a country in Africa. President Obama is a practicing Christian. Personally, I preferred him over McCain, who I thought would be a crazier Bush. I voted for Hilary Clinton in the primaries. Had Giuliani continued running I may well have voted for him. I'm happy with our current president thus far, though. | |

| Ah...ok
But dont you love people?
Half the color people got sooooo made when all the teachers asked everyone who they would have voted for. But when they found out his supported Gay Marraiges (me too!) but was for abortions (not me but thats his choice) they got soooo mad
But whatever for them. Now that they know some of his issues, maybe next time they will have their parents vote with issues and not skin color. And he is growing on me....I'm beginning to like him more and more.
Hopefully he will be better then Bush and not stupid as he was.

| I like Obama expecially because he's part socialist =]. Anyway I feel that its good that hes president because it symbolises a new way forward for the world. Not long ago black people were slaves and now a black person is running the country. But its also time for people to move on from it. Nowadays people will turn anything you say into racism and in my opinion having Obama should push people forward into dropping it.
Though I feel that if Obama is assainated by a white person or someone who is against blacks then there will be a new war against blacks and whites.

| A snob? I think not. I think he is doing alot better then someone else would have done. Dont know to much on healthcare. But the abortion part, I don't like. We are all entitled to that oppion right there. I'm a Pro Life supporter at heart, but there really isnt much we can do about it. If the mother doesnt want her child, who are we to judge her by that? That's like me judging you because you do not like purple whereas I do. So all in all, you can't hate him for that. So you really shouldnt judge a book by it's cover, it will always come back to you. | |

| But getting pregnant at 16, when you have your school and entire life ahead, and NOT having the choice of abortion can be tough, too. I'm glad Obama gave the opinion to choose - and no offence... no, forget that - MUCH offence, he had a lot to do after Bush screwed things up :D And he's gotten a lot of things done Okay, see, to some limit I support abortion. I don't mean that everyone should do it, but it's always "nice" to have the choice. Abortion isn't always the best choice, because it still means you're going to live those 9 months and get huge and all. It WILL effect your life, and if you're 15-16, how "cool" is that, then? I personally wouldn't like it, and I don't know how my mom lived through it when she expected me, because 1) I wasn't planned, and 2) her parents didn't let her get an abortion, and I wish they had. ...funny I would say that, because I wouldn't exist xD | |
