Blasted Ended Skrewts

This is a new creature that has been created by Hagrid, the Hogwarts groundkeeper, to show to his Care of Magical Creatures class in 1994. This animal is believe by many (although this has never been proven) to be a mixture of manicores and fire-crabs. These are two completely opposite creatures. The manicore is an intelligent creature that has a fiery temper and very strong/ dangerous. This creature has the head of a human, body of a lion, and a tail of a scorpion. Its skin is very much like a dragon and very hard to penetrate. The tail itself holds a toxic poison that will kill anyone who is sprayed with it. Although a fire-crab is less dangerous, it is, by no means, safe to handle. A fire-crab is a creature that resembles a turtle with a jeweled shell. The fire-crab’s shell is very strong for its shield protection, usually used for caldrons. Its protection is the flame that shoots out of the back of its shell. It is unknown how Hagrid accomplished this breeding.

As an infant, skrewts are slimy, pale lobsters that had no distant head but many legs. Some already had stingers or blood suckers on their bellies while they all shot off fire. After growing for two months, these skrewts grew a hard, gray armor on its bodies as the flame it shoots off becomes more powerful. They become 3 feet long. After 6 months, these creatures grow as large as 6 feet long. As it reached 10 months, these creatures grow up to 10 feet long with large black, sharp stingers curved over their backs. Their armor has thickened to resemble a dragon’s hide. Spells aimed at its shell will just bounce off of it. The only weakness this creature possesses is the underside of its belly, which is still weak, and defenseless. It still possesses its flame which it uses as an attack to propel itself toward its enemies. This is the only area where spells are allowed to penetrate its body.
