Another language?

I'd love if we could learn languages like that. O.o

I think there should be an international language that everyone must learn at school. Within a few decades we could all speak one language.

... isn't English one of those? xD I mean, I live in Finland, and like HELL do I need that in a country where everyone basically talks Finnish or Swedish (or both, like me xD), but all the teachers always said "It's the only language you need out there!", so...

Not that I'm complaining. I rock at English :D

Update on my Japanese class; I rock at it too xD There's this SUPER cute guy, Miika, who "apparently" was adopted from Japan, and he's so nice and CUTE - did I mention he was cute, btw?

Back to topic; I've come to the conclusion that Finnish and Swedish is useless. And stupid. You seriously have no use of it anywhere in the world... except Swedish, in Sweden - but even then, it's not the same; it's not always sure I understand them, and they understand me xD

One of my mums friends is Finnish and she speaks fluent english. She came to scotland to go to university

Because they force us to learn it at an early age in case we become genius and invent some freakishly awesome technological thingy because Finland is known to have a high level education and technology stuff going on all the time.

Yeah, the whole Spanish being offical in the US is ridiculous in my opinion. It's never gonna happen. xD

English is definitley the international language though...when I went to Europe over the summer people who spoke two different languages would speak English to communicate even though neither of them were native speakers.

My mom always said - when she just had hada fight with dad, of course - that English is a language of idiots, that's why they want the rest of the world to lower themselves on the level of America, and learn English so that America won't feel so stupid xD

Then I pointed out that they speak English in UK too, and she was all "But that's a nicer English!!!!"

I'm kinda proud now that Finland has two official languages, and that I master them both, plus that I'm rather fluent in English, even if I come up with my own words from time to time.

Most people in my school have glaswegian accents.

It's difficult to say what kind of English accent I have, since English is not my first language... I mean, I mostly write in British English (like colour, and neighbour), but I speak more like in American English. And in school, I learned both, since in first all the way to sixth grade our teacher used British English, and seventh to ninth grade, the English teacher used American English.

And then, when I went to the nurse school - that would be college in UK, vocational school in US - the teacher used British English, but "allowed" American English.

Don't get me even started on how the education system is built here, it will only confuse you xD

But American English comes more naturally to me, since I've always talked it with my dad... what with some of the words being Finnish or Swedish, if I get too carried away xD

My accent is mostly northeasten American (NOT NEW YORK ) but I still have a bit of a southern twang with a couple of words. Hehehe
