| 1 - 100m David looked at the door he was facing: Doctor Richard Burton (Psychiatrist) “Great, just great, isn’t it enough that school’s ending, do I have to go through this also?”
Taking a deep breath, David knocked on the door and waited until he was given permission to enter. The office could have looked welcoming and warningly but David could only feel resentment for having to be there.
“Hello David, how are you today?” Doctor Burton asked.
“Fine” David replied sharply.
Doctor Burke smiled “Why don’t’ you take a seat so we can talk”.
“Like I have any choice” David grumbled.
Doctor Burke started to organize some papers. “Here” he muttered. “So, David, we need to talk about… your diary.”
David flushed with anger… his diary... his mum had stolen it and given it to her shrink who then recommend her to show it to the school’s nut cracker, Mr. prefect role model Doctor Richard Burke.
“What about it?”
“Well there are some entries here that concern me”
David rolled his eyes; it was going to be worse than he thought. Doctor Burke started reading:
“January 13th
Change. Good or bad? Destiny or product of our own actions?
I see change as something good. Change! We should always keep moving forward. Change! Yes sometimes you don’t see it coming but what it means? That it was totally out of your hand or it was something that you without realizing caused it?
Even though at times it seems to me I could have done nothing to avoid that change, that it was out of my hands, truth is, I do think that it us that make it happen through our actions. And yes things are never gonna be the same again after. Nor they should, even though as good as it sometimes can be to revive the past or experience it a little bit we shouldn’t be stuck in it. Embrace the future. Change!
Change people! Re-invent yourselves. Things aren’t static but in constant change! Don’t try to hold to a reality which is no longer the present. People change so move on, let them go as hard as it could be.
Looking back now I see how much changes I’ve been through. So many times changing school, home, so many things and people left behind. And somehow I’ve never went back. I think for me changes will keep me busy for a while still. However when I am older. When life is no longer about looking into the future but look into the past to see what we’ve been through and achieved I wish I’ll be able to go back. Go back and revive all of those moments revive the company of all of those people that at some point made part of my life but somehow disappeared in life changes.
I wish you too are able to change stranger."
David wanted to dig a whole and hid forever.
“David, would you like to comment on that?”
David gave him a furious look.
“Do I look like I want to?”
“David we need to talk, clearly you need to talk. Especially now that the school0s year is ending and you’ll be enrolling in a university.
February 14th
That time of year is coming again… Valentine’s day. Don’t you just hate it? Little fluffy hearts everywhere, pink letters and the worst… couples. Annoying couples remembering flaunting themselves in front of single people. Don’t’ get me wrong I’m all for the single people, it’s just that couples should be single too.
Isn’t there any girl you wish to talk to me about?
March 25th
Today I went for a walk to see if I could find an open music store to buy my Blackout. I hadn’t raised my expectations and I was right to do it. Almost everything was closed today as it’s holiday, ‘All saints day’. By the way Happy Halloween everyone I hope you had fun yesterday.
So while I was walking through the streets all I could see were several families going for a walk looking perfectly happy. No trace of whatever problems they might have home could be seen in their faces.
Even though it was only two something in the afternoon, the sun was already going down rearing the tree-tops giving the city an old look. What you have to know it’s that here in Czestochowa there are a lot of small parks between buildings and parks for children to play. Suddenly I wasn’t in 2007 I was one or two centuries ago where time hadn’t passed where families spend their free days walking in the park with their families and greeting other known families and friends. Time had stopped here all I could think of was those old pictures of families posing together.
Do you wish things were better home?
April 17th
As hard as it may be, sometimes we must know when to admit failure even when the thing that failed is something we worked hard for and therefore we have a connection with it. That connection cannot be seen by others which make them judge, in the best hope, impartially.
With some luck we can see what make that thing failed and give reason to others otherwise we will lose our strengths fighting for something which is just not and will never be ‘accepted’. We need to let go.
We need to keep our head high, look into the future and move on to another project, work even harder and try to make sure the mistake that led us to fail the first time does not happens again.
Test and error. Test and error. That’s how we learn as tough and painful as it is.
What was your failure David?
May 29th
I guess sometimes we just need to let it go and forgive. Also we need to learn how to step back. Space, space is the key even when we don’t understand why. Even old friends can get tired at times, they get so close they forget to let the other one breathe….”
“STOP, STOP, STOP! JUST SHUT THE HELL UP! NO I DON’T WANNA TALK ABOUT GIRLS, SORRY BUT IM INTO BOYS, YES I WISH I HAD A BETTER HOME, AND YOU’RE A FAILURE! YOU, IM INTO YOU SINCE DAY ONE AND YOU JUST THINK IM A NUTWRECK…oh… oh no.. oh Go… I didn’t… I mean…”
David ran away, leaving Doctor Burke in shock and thinking “Why are school years’ end such a period for breading crazy people!”

Mindy sighed, walking into the school. This was the last day and she would never step foot into this place again. No more teachers, people teasing her, and no more him. The one who turned her world upside down. She couldn’t believe she loved him. He was everything she had ever wanted, yet he twisted everything she said and done and made her out to but a liar.
“Mindy…hello?” Someone called from her right. How many times had she blocked out everyone’s voices? Everyone’s movements? Allie didn’t get it. She was broken to the last degree of live. But yet, as she looked down at Allie, she felt something she had never felt. Loneliness. Allie was the reason behind everything that had happen to her.
“What?” Mindy replied harshly. She saw Allie’s eyes turn soft from the rudeness of her voice. But she had a reason to act that way, didn’t she? Allie knew how much she loved Jake. How much she wanted him, to be with him. But they, together, made her feel stupid, pathetic, and, over all, worthless.
“I wanted to say sorry…” Allie whispered to her. A sharp laugh came from Mindy’s mouth, pushing Allie onto the floor. “I have nothing to say to the school tramp.” She hissed at her, slamming the locker shut. She didn’t look back at Allie, who sat crying behind her back. Guilt would have settled into her stomach if not for the fact she was no longer caring for others said or did around her.
And the last person she ever wanted to see was in front of her as she walked towards the lab building. His perfect face, black hair, green eyes, and pink lips. No, she wouldn’t think about how she loved kissing Jake. He wasn’t worth a moment of her thought. But yet, he always found a way to sneak into there.
“Mindy….long time no see.” He said as she passed him. She said nothing to him, but an icy glare. She swore she saw him flinch, but she could be wrong. “You still can’t be mad about what I done can you?” he asked her, stopping her. She pulled from his grasp, but he growled, grabbing her again.
“Look, we said sorry over and over. What more do you want?” He yelled at her. Mindy shook her head, a disgusted look on her face. “Just leave me alone. OK? School is almost to an end and I will never have nothing to do with the both of you…ever.” She hissed to him. But that wasn’t enough. He pushed her into the wall, but strangely, she liked it. If only it wasn’t him.
“I miss you.” Jake whispered in her ear. How had he done that so quickly? Had she blacked out again. Her breath caught in her throat as he kissed her neck softly. She wouldn’t let him get to her, yet he was…again. Has much as a no rested on her tongue, she couldn’t get it out. She wanted him more then she knew she did. “I want you back.” He said again, against her neck. She shook her head, but she pulled him closer.
“Please, Mindy, I’m sorry.” Jake whispered again, pulling back to look at her. She swallowed hard against the lump in her throat. What had she gotten herself into? Before she could react to anything, she felt his soft lips on hers and she closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around his neck. Sparks flew, her vision clouded, yet she enjoyed it. She wanted this moment to last. Hands settled on her waist, pulling her closer to him.
“I..need..to …breath..” She said in-between the kiss. He pulled back, leaning her head against hers, looking down. “Please?” he whispered. Mindy bit her lip, breathing heavily. She could play fire with fire, yet she didn’t want to. She wanted to play cat and mouse, and right now, she was the cat.
“Sorry….but you have to try harder.” She told him, bringing her knee up. He growled in agony, falling down to the ground. Mindy stepped over him, picking her things off the ground. “Next time, don’t sleep with my best friend. But who said there was a next time?” She asked him, walking towards the building. Maybe school ending was going to be a good idea after all. She had only a week left to play with his emotions.

| 5 - 400 meters:
The news of Dumbledore’s death quickly spread all over the magic world. From shocked, grieving, happy, sad, outraged people, there was not a single house where Dumbledore was not theme of discussion.
Two drunken guys babbled about it in the Leaky Cauldron:
“Dumbledore’s dead. No way! Way! Shut up! Up! That’s sick! I know! How could have that happened? Happened what? What happened? I don’t know you tell me. No, you tell me!”
Still in the Leaky Cauldron, two old witches gossiped:
“Meg, did you hear the news? Dumbledore’s death? Yes, pretty shocking, right? Yeah, he was such a lovely man. Yes he was. Lovely. Yeah… A bit loony too. Dreadful taste in clothes. Why hasn’t he ever got married anyway? Ohhh a friend of a friends, told a friend who told a friend of mine who told me…”
Oh yes still in the Leaky Cauldron, two hooded wizards whispered:
“So… So… The nut head’s gone. Finally. Finally. Do you think we should join Him? Dumbledore? No, you idiot! The Dark Lord. Oh, Him! You think we should? I don’t know, I’m asking you. Always the helper…”
These conversations multiplied themselves all around the globe, for there wasn’t one who didn’t know, Dumbledore was dead! | |

------------------------------------------
She removed her cap and dusted off the confetti. She looked at it then with a sullen smile. It was the end. It was the end of the school year and off high school. She felt depressed, but accomplished at the same time. She had finally made it, honors and all. But she was sad that everyone would be leaving. Only she and a select few were really staying back instead of heading off to colleges or internships around the world.
As she placed her cap back on her head, she spotted her closest friend, Maeve. “Yo, girl with the hair!” she called and her friend turned around to see her.
She chuckled. “Please don’t tell me you aren’t going to start calling me, or anyone else, that.”
“Naugh,” Sam laughed and linked her arm with Maeve’s. “Just figured I’d give it a try. Had to hear it all through high school and figured I’d give it a try once.”
“I still don’t get it,” Maeve commented. “Everyone has hair, so why shout out ‘Hey you with the hair!’. Seems pretty stupid. Actually it is pretty stupid. No seeming to it.”
“Well,” Sam sighed. “We go to school with a bunch of idiots. Or rather, we did. If there is anything I am glad about graduation is never having to see these daft imbeciles every day.”
“Ah,” She argued. “But you are staying here for a year off. You are very likely to end up working with one.”
“Frak,” Sam swore before pointing a finger at her friend. “If I end up working with one of them now I will hunt you down and kill you for jinxing me.”
Maeve simply chuckled and led her friend towards the small, brick wall at the end of the quad. They sat down and she rested her head of Sam’s shoulder before letting out a sigh. “Can’t believe its all over.”
“Yeah, did go quickly didn’t it?” Sam asked before unlinking their arms and wrapping hers around Maeve’s shoulder. “Felt like forever before we’d all part ways. Heck, I felt like I’d be dealing with James’s mom jokes and Becky’s whining to the end of time. Who’s bright idea was it to make us all grow up anyway?”
“Well we would have been fine if we were guys,” Maeve replied with a smirk.
Sam gave her a confused look and asked, “How so?”
“Cause boys get to go to Neverland,” Maeve chuckled.
Sam pursed her lips in thought before asking, “Why is that anyway? I mean why no lost girls?”
“For girls are far to smart to get lost according to Pan,” she replied in amusement. “It is such a curse to be an intelligent woman.”
“How very true,” Sam chuckled in response.
Both girls then sighed. They knew this was the end. They knew that they would probably never see each other again after Maeve moved to Missouri to live with her grandparents as she attended college. But neither wanted to acknowledge it. It was hard enough dealing with the end of high school. They didn’t want to bring forward any acknowledgement of the fact that their time together was limited. They only met ten months ago, but they were the closest of friends.
“Alright I will just say it,” Maeve said suddenly in defeat.
Sam rose an eyebrow at her. “What you mean?”
“I am going to miss you,” she answered in a pout before wrapping her arms around her friend in a hug. “I say I kidnap you and take you with me to Missouri. You could get a part time job there.”
Sam sighed and moved her hand to brush Maeve’s hair. “The whole point of taking off a year was to spend time with the twins. Been so packed with school I haven’t gotten to know ‘em. Make me feel like a terrible sister. Moving, as much as it would be a blast to go with you, would make it a bit difficult.”
“Would it be terrible to say I am jealous of those little babies?” Maeve gloomily chuckled.
“Not as terrible as me wishing they weren’t around or I didn’t want to be such a good sister so I could go with you.”
Maeve hugged Sam closer as she fought the water building up in her eyes. “Wish we could just fly off the Neverland, never grow up, and feel no obligations or worries.”
“If only,” Sam replied with a sniffle. She looked down at her friend and smiled. “I say we get up and go somewhere.”
“Where?” Maeve asked as she continued to snuggle into Sam’s side.
“Anywhere you want,” Sam answered. “Maybe go to that one underpass you love. The one sure the cherry blossom trees.”
Maeve looked up with a smile. “I do love that spot.”
Sam swept some hair away from Maeve’s face before kissing her forehead and replying, “So we go there then?”
Maeve nodded, “Yeah.”
They both got up and made their way through the crying and laughing of other graduates and their families. Sam was glad that both their parents weren’t able to come. This meant time to spend with her best friend. She was going to lose her soon and she felt it was her right to be selfish. It wouldn’t be long before their lives went different ways. They’d probably lose contact after a while even. Just the thought of that possibility made Sam want to steal every moment she could.
Once they made it to the underpass, Sam watched at Maeve looked at the cherry blossom trees with awe. They eventually sat down, unknown people passing them in cars of various colors and models. They were seated as they were previously that afternoon, with Maeve’s head on Sam’s shoulder and Sam’s arm around her.
“I love you.”
Sam looked at Maeve in shock. “What?”
“I…love you,” she answered and looked towards the traffic.
“But…and…,” Sam tried to speak, but failed.
Maeve leaned up and kissed her gently on the lips before returning to her previous seated position. “No need to talk about it,” Maeve said. “We won’t be hanging out together any time soon after this. No need to worry ourselves. Just wanted to let you know.”
Sam didn’t know what to say. She cared about Maeve, more than anyone in fact, but she didn’t know how to respond. But maybe she shouldn’t even if she did know how. It would just make things complicated and more difficult. Instead she just moved her hand from Maeve’s shoulder to her friends hand and entwined their fingers. Then they just sat. Silent. Just them, in their favorite spot, trying to put off thinking of how it was the end. Of the school year, high school, and their time together.

It was a lie. It could not be true, could it? Minerva felt the walls close around her heart. Dumbledore was the only person she could trust, let alone, believe. Anything someone else said wasn’t as true as his word. Tear blurred her vision as she stared at his body. After all these years, He said to believe him. To believe Severus was good. But why? Why would the only person who would take him under his wing kill Dumbledore?
“Potter, please tell me he isn’t dead?” She whispered. The look, alone, to make her cry. She couldn’t let them see her, not like this. She turned around, dapping her eyes with a handkerchief. She would get back at Severus, even if her life would depended on it. The only person she ever loved was gone. Even if he didn’t love her the way she did. She believed in him.
“How did it happen?” She asked, not sure she wanted to know. He said nothing and she took a deep breath, bending down. She fixed his glasses softly, afraid she would hurt him. One thing was for sure, he was dead. And there was nothing she could do about it. | |

| 10If it's ok, I'll just do this. I hate getting onto HQ and messing with buttons and such- Spoiler:
Chapter One: Unanswer Questions Sometimes she wondered why she was born. She knew she wasn’t like her family. Not smart enough, not pretty enough. Dangly brown hair that hung to her shoulders made others wonder where she got her looks from. But she could already tell you that. She didn’t know. That was what she told everyone and they sneered down at her, taking her mother for a tramp. She would just roll her eyes and walk away, like always. Why was she different anyway? It only seemed her mother loved her. She knew her father didn’t. He would sneer down at her, loving on the other three children around her. No matter how much she tried to do good, he would yell and curse her out while she cried to herself.
“Stella.” Someone said from her doorway. She looked up from her vanity and into the mirror. A smile formed at her lips and her heart fluttered. She had a crush on the servant boy. He was a yeah older then her but she could care less. He was the only one that didn’t hate her, but he had no reason to. He was her only friend growing up. Seth had fluffy black hair, that hung to his shoulders in layers. Sparkling blue eyes that could make you melt. His smile was perfect. He also had a girlfriend, her sister.
“Hey Seth.” She whispered softly, standing up. She played with her dress. Flowing crystal blue. Like water. She loved this dress with every fiber of her being. She prayed her father wouldn’t rip it again. She slipped her shoes on quickly, turning to look in the mirror. She had her hair pinned up on her head and light makeup.
“Your mother is ready for you.” he said, walking into the room. She sighed, looking down. “I hate this.” She mumbled. They were going to a ministry party. Her father was a big shot and had to be there. But she didn’t understand why she had to go. Maybe to let them see they were perfect. Who knows. Seth looked her up and down and heat rose to her face. “Is it to much?” She asked him. He shook his head, offering her his arm. She giggled softly, slipping her arm around his.
“It’s perfect. Now lets go before they think we are doing something.” he said, laughing softly. Stella just smiled again, walking with him. She just wished she was perfect for him. Not her sister. As they walked, she tried to think of anything but this. She didn’t want to go. Maybe it was a form of punishment. She didn’t know. When they made it to the car, she saw her father glare at her. Seth slipped his arm from hers, walking over to Sabrina. “We will be taking this car, get in.” He hissed to Stella. She glared, getting into the car, but not fast enough. He shoved her in and she fell into the floor, messing her once perfect hair up.
“Get up you klutz.” He told her, slamming the door shut. She pulled herself on the seat and the car started rolling down the street carefully. “You are to be on your best behavior. Nothing funny. Magic isn’t allowed here and I want let you do it. If something happens, it’s punishment time. I’ll let the butcher deal with you.” He told her, hate written on his face. Stella just nodded, letting her glaze go out into the window. He told her that every time. She knew by now. She was surrounded by muggles. Maybe that’s why he hated her. She would never know.
- Spoiler:
Chapter 2: No More Lies “Yes and this is Stella.” Someone said from her right. She looked up at the old man. One word to describe him, pathetic. Old clothing, dirty hair, crooked smile, she wondered how he got a job to begin with. Looking back at the pictures that hung on the wall, she cocked her head to the side to find other pictures in them. She found none. If someone said this night would being boring, she would have believed them. If they said evil was lurking, she would have laughed and gave them her ticket to the loony bin. But what happened next, she would never have been prepared for. “OH MY GOD!” was all she heard.
Up in the air, shinning green and brilliantly was the dark mark. A mark she had feared seeing. Screamed where all around her and pushing and shoving from now flowing green light coming from wood. Not wood, wands. There were more here then just here. She ran towards the exist, but it was closed off. Someone shouted and she looked towards the front, her lungs closing. Seth was up there, evil in his eyes. He couldn’t be.
“Lord Voldemort has finally done it. You all shall worship him and treat him like your master. Death will be award to you…dirt.” He yelled into the microphone. Tears stung her eyes. Her Seth. He done this? But he couldn’t have. He was a muggle also. Wasn’t he? He glanced at her, a wicked smile on his face.
“And his daughter.” He yelled at, pointing at her. She froze. She wasn’t Voldemort’s daughter. Sure she was adopted, or so she was sure of, but she wasn’t a half blood at all. She was a muggle-born. Her parents had her birth record, didn’t they? Hadn’t she seen it? She was sure she had, but nothing came to her. She wasn’t aware of the people looking at her until she came from her thoughts. The look of her father’s face held disgust, like this was her fault. But she had done nothing wrong.
“Come on Stella.” Seth hissed towards her. Stella’s body was shaking as she made her way towards him. Was she even moving on her own? She moved her arm slightly and it proved she was walking on her own, but why? Step by step was a never ending agony building in her. She walked up the steps and stood by Seth, not sure what to do. He grabbed her hand softly and she looked up.
“Your father will be happy to see you back.” He hissed at her softly. She nodded, still not sure of what was going on and what was happening. All she could register was that she was Voldemort’s daughter and Seth was a wizard. Nothing else was adding up. What did Voldemort want with muggles anyway? She would soon find out. The air around them changed and she felt the coldness and hate pile around her. She looked up, the block the blinding light that fell before them, from her eyes.
Screams and crying erupted around her. She didn’t want to look up, but she knew if she didn’t, she would never do it. Never in her life did she think she would be face to face with Voldemort himself. The one who caused pain into everyone in the wizarding world. Her heart stopped, her breath got in her throat, and her heart was pounding in her head again.
“My Lord.” Seth whispered, bending down. She looked over at him, wondering why he was going it. She wasn’t going to bow, no matter what. But he didn’t seem to mind. Voldemort walked up the steps to them, smirking. “My daughter…at last…” He whispered in a hiss. She shook her head, taking a step back. He only laughed, pulling his wand out.
“Just like your filthy muggle mother.” He hissed. She shook her head again. Her mother never touched him did she? Just the thought of it made her feel sick. But as she looked out into the crowd, her mother had tears in her eyes. “No! The deal was you leave us alone! You promised my sister you would!” She yelled. Stella started breathing heavily. Her sister? She didn’t have any aunts? But….that would explain everything. Why she didn’t look like her parents, why her father hated her, why her mother kept close watch after her.
She wasn’t their child. Her mother had a sister. She was her mother’s sister’s daughter. And his daughter. Her whole life had been nothing but a lie. And it didn’t help her at all. Tears built in her eyes and she looked down at the woman she had trusted with everything. “You lied to me.” She whispered. Her mother shook her head, looking at her.
“I only wanted you safe.” She whispered. Stella shook her head, looking back at her father. “And you…you didn’t help me any.” she whispered. She didn’t even stay in the room, she took off towards the exist, but she was hit in the back and fell down, blackness surrounding her.
- Spoiler:
Chapter 3: Fears untold
Stella woke up to whispers. They sounded rushed and hurryingly, like they didn’t want her to hear. When she opened her eyes, she groaned, the white hurting her. The whispering stopped and she opened her eyes more slowly this time. She knew where she was before being told. Hogwart’s is not where she wanted to be. Sitting up slowly, she looked around to see who was all there. The only person she wanted to see. Dumbledore. But wait, wouldn’t he know about her? Anger built up in her and she shook her head.
“You knew didn’t you?” She whispered deadly. The pain and understanding in his eyes let her know he did. She pushed the cover back, getting out of the bed. She ignore the spinningness in her head and took a step, only to fall. Tears came to her eyes. She didn’t want to be around him or be here. She wanted to be alone and know the truth, yet she didn’t.
“Stella, listen, there are just things you don’t need to know.” Dumbledore whispered. She ignored him, but not that good. She could hear him and someone else talking softly. That was, until the door was busted open and someone walked in.
“Are you going to do something about her!” they shouted. She looked up and then closed her eyes. Potter, that last person she wanted to see. Of course, everyone would know by now. And her bring His daughter didn’t help anyone nor her.
“It’s not like I had a choice of being his daughter.” She hissed softly. He glared at her, hate wrote all over his face. Dumbledore walked forward, shaking his head. “I can’t do anything about it.” he whispered. “It’s not like she wanted this.”
Stella looked up at him. For once, she wanted to believe Dumbledore, but she couldn’t. She didn’t trust anyone anymore. Everyone did nothing but lied to her. And she wanted nothing to do with them. Harry just glared deadly at her and she stood up, still dizzy.
“How long have I been here.” She whispered. Dumbeldore looked down at the calender and sighed. “About a month. Whatever spell you were hit with knocked you out that bad.” He said. Stella breathed heavily, walking from the wing. But she didn’t realize Potter had followed her to.
“I bet you knew about it, didn’t you.” He asked her harshly, grabbing her arm. She swung around, punching him in the eye. Anger had consumed her and her doing that did nothing to help. Harry glared up at her and she spat on him. Turning around, she walked back to her common room, when she realized, she didn’t even know the password, let alone if she had anything to wear.
She decided to sit outside, hoping someone would come soon and let her in. But everything changed. She saw nothing but black and a small light. Whispered were being exchanged and she tried to touch whoever was coming into the focus. But it didn’t work. She made the words kill, Stella, and death. She knew what was going on and she screamed, falling over from her place on the floor.
“Stella?” She asked from above her. She looked up. Lovegood. All she needed now was a nutcase around her. But Luna didn’t look the same. She looked like she had seen death, but maybe she had. Stella said nothing but stood up. “I need the password.” She said. Luna nodded, saying it and walking in. Stella followed behind her, walking to her dorm so no one would ask her anything. But when she walked into the dorm, her bed had been moved and a spot was left open for trash and such.
Sighed, she walked back down stairs and was about to walk from her common room when she heard it, the sound of screaming and fear in voices. She knew what was happening. Her father had came for her.
- Spoiler:
Chatper 4: Death of Today
Stella ran around, looking for a wand. She couldn’t believe her father and found her. Not yet, she didn’t want to be found. She didn’t want to follow him. But nothing would ever be what she wanted. She heard a scream and looked. Dumbledore was fighting with someone but it didn’t matter, she could care less. All she needed right now was a wand.
“Stella, love.” Someone hissed from her right. She looked over at them and froze. Seth was here, and waiting. “I have looked all over for you.” he hissed, walking towards her. She shook her head, running. A spell zoomed by her and she whimpered softly. She couldn’t die, not yet. She ran around the corner, tripping over something. She screamed as she fell over Luna.
She noticed her wand was still in her hand and she grabbed it, knowing she wouldn’t need it now. She turned around, looking for Seth. “You cant find me!” He said. She looked around, fear consuming her. He wasn’t no where to be found and it scared her. She went to turn around but a hand was forced over her mouth and she screamed, but was muffled.
“I told you to find me.” he hissed, pulling her with him. She felt tears merge in her eyes. She knew this was it, she was going to die. Today. She prayed to herself, hoping she would be at least safe and it would be fast. She prayed for her mother, father, and sisters. But what was the use? They would never care.
“Let her go.” Someone said. She opened her eyes, looking at Potter. Why was he helping her? He hated her, he made it clear. She could hear it in his voice, his stupid smirk. “And if I don’t?” Seth asked. Harry growled, shouted something and Seth dropped to the floor, screaming. Her eyes widen. He was using an unforgivable.
“Stop!” She shouted, pushing Potter to the floor. A spell shot passed them, pushing from the wall and hitting Seth. She watched in horror as the man she once loved fell to the floor, anger on his face. “No..” She whispered. Harry grabbed her by the arms, pulling her back so she couldn’t get in the way.
“It’s to late!” he shouted. Stella pulled away from him, running towards him. But she should have listened. Her father stepped towards her and she shook. She knew it was over now, but she didn’t want it to be. More screams erupted around her and she backed up, tripping over Luna again. She felt tears finally fall and she closed her eyes.
“If you kill me, I hope you rot in hell.” She whispered, hoping he could hear her. He laughed at her, stepping towards her as she opened her eyes again. A smirk was rested on his mouth. “You want die just yet.” he hissed. “I have unfinished bussines.” he said, looking at Potter. Her eyes widen as she realize what was going on. He was killing her, he wanted Potter. And she wouldn’t let it happen.
“NO! You want to kill someone, kill me!” She yelled, standing up. Luna’s wand was pointed out in front of her. Voldemort looked surprised but covered it. “You would help someone who doesn’t deserve it?” he hissed. Stella nodded, tears no longer falling. “If that’s how you want it.” He hissed. He turned towards Potter, shouting out a cursing at him. Harry just screamed, falling down. He wasn’t using the same curse Harry had use, but something more. He was killing something within him.
Stella pushed Harry out of the way, the curse hitting her full force. A scream erupted from her mouth and everything went black. All have more then 600 words

| 5 - 400 meters203 words minus words in bold or italics since I don't think of them as part of the story. It is basically two versions of an article written for the Daily Prophet. The one released wouldn't have much due to Voldemort not wanting people to know much. I figured he had at least that much control by Dumbledore's death. ------------------------------------------ Unreleased Article:Albus Dumbledore Murdered at HogwartsNormally the ending of the school year at Hogwarts is one happiness, but this school year has ended with a tragedy that shocked, frightened and saddened students and many people across the world. No one could have anticipated the horrid event that took place. Earlier this week Death Eaters infiltrated the school that so many of us witches and wizards were once taught at. There were hardly any casualties, though one has led many of us into mourning. That casualty was that of Albus Dumbledore who died that evening. He was killed by none other than Severus Snape. I, and many others, remember him as a kind man who was more than a former Transfiguration teacher and later Headmaster. He was a mentor and helped many of us to become who we are today. His death is a tragic loss to the Wizarding World and he will be dearly missed. If you wish to attend his funeral, it will be held at Hogwarts and be open to the public. Revised Edition: Albus Dumbledore, Dead
We are sad to hear of Albus Dumbledore’s death earlier this week. No details have been released as of yet. His funeral will take place tomorrow at Hogwarts and is open to the public. | |

| 10 - 1500 meters - c h a p t e r - o n e -Warning: This is 15+ I think. Maybe a bit more? Anyways not for the easily offended. I wrote it about angels & demons and anyone who is offended by stuff like it then don't read it. I wrote it because it was the only thing in my head that wanted to be typed up. Has some swearing and a bit of violence. Story Notes Here------------------------------------------ •AMONGST BLIND EYES•"Behold, we are surrounded by demons, yea, we are encircled about by the angels of him who hath sought to destroy our souls" (Helaman 13:37)- T H E - M O R N I N G - S T A R -(1725 words) - Spoiler:
The woman’s lips unwrapped around the end of the cigarette before blowing out a puff of smoke. One hand was wrapped with her rosary beads; the ones that everyone who knew her found strange and ironic. Gina Richards was the daughter of Agaliarept, a demon, and a human toy of his. She was a half-breed; half human and half demon. She was almost considered royalty amongst Halflings. The Nephilim hated her of course, but they still respected her for her standing.
So why would the child of such a powerful demon have rosary beads? It is simple really. Though many like to say otherwise, Lucifer still held a sort of respect of God as creator of everything and so his left- and right-hand men did too. Thus why she holds a respect for him. Not to mention she was raised Catholic by her mother’s side of the family. Of course, most do not know that since she keeps it well under wraps as with most personal things.
“The job is done,” spoke an emotionless voice from the doorway; the person’s body hidden by the darkness.
A smirk made a way on Gina’s lips before replying, “Another job well done, Krista.”
Krista Thomas walked forward and revealed herself in the light. “Just give me the money so I can get on my way.”
“If you ever expect your mother to get better, you should really learn to be nice,” the red-headed half-breed replied as she leaned back in her chair, propped her legs on the desk, and took a drag of her cigarette. “You know, if you hate working for me and the others so much you could always take Barbas’s offer.”
“I’d rather work for you than marry him,” Krista replied, disgusted. “Even if it saves your mother?”
“Money will save her to and it won’t make the rest of my life miserable,” the human girl replied and Gina snickered. “Now give me the money so I can be on my way.”
Gina sighed before opening the drawer of her desk and pulling out an envelope. “Here’s the money,” she said as she handed it over. “There is information on your next job in there too, as usual. Enjoy.”
The girl took the money and began heading out before Gina spoke up again. “Why do you take these jobs anyway? I know you want to pay for your mother’s operation, but why these jobs and not something like dancing. I know you could make just as much working here at the club.”
“Because it is what I know how to do,” Krista answered simply, not turning back, and then walked out the door she had entered earlier.
Gina simply chuckled before taking another drag of her cigarette. After sitting for a while, she checked the digital clock on her desk and watched as it changed to read 5:30 pm. She let out a sigh before sitting up and putting out her cigarette. It was time for work and as hostess of the club she couldn’t be late. Luckily, she enjoyed her job. She ran The Morning Star club in the town of Springfield and it was basically a refuge for demons, half-breeds, followers, and simply naïve humans. She honestly couldn’t think of a better job.
She made her way out of her office and headed down the dark hall leading to the main area of the club. Once there she noted that, as per usual, Veronica Smith was already at her post behind the bar preparing. It still surprised Gina that Veronica was so into her job and that she was even willing to work there. After all, the woman was the Great Duchess of Hell, better known as Vepar. Well, Gina understood the demon took the job due to the club’s closeness to the sea, but still she seemed very dedicated.
“Vepar,” Gina greeted and nodded.
The demon raised an eyebrow as she sorted bottles and replied, “How many times must I say that you should call me Veronica here?”
“There are no humans around,” Gina commented. “So what is the harm?” “Just don’t need you slipping up.”
“As if I would,” she replied with her nose slightly lifted into the air. “Anyways, it isn’t like the humans that come here know of all demon names, if any at all. And if they did they would probably ask for your service.”
“Still don’t want to chance it,” Veronica replied. “Especially since I hear that Detective Aleshire is keeping a close eye and ear on some of our visitors and staff.”
“I thought Anthony got blackmail on him and got him to be quiet.”
“No, that was Detective Haywood he managed to blackmail,” she replied. “Aleshire is, unfortunately, the one who sticks his nose where is needn’t be.”
“Can’t Anthony find anything on him?” Gina asked.
“From what Bethea says, he is trying, but Aleshire seems pretty clean. He even tried picking up on something to do with his sister, the one who works at Hannah-Marie‘s, but nothing on her yet.”
“Hope he finds something soon because I do not need him snoopin’ about bugging my customers. I suppose I could always try and figure it out, but that means I have to actually meet the giggle.”
“Don’t worry. Anthony will figure out something, I am sure.”
“Well, I shall leave you to work now,” Gina said before exchanging nods with Veronica and heading towards the stage.
She walked up the stairs to the side and went behind the curtain to see if anyone had shown up. Her hopes proved false when she saw no one. She always expected David and Angela to be responsible, but maybe they had a bit too much demon in them. Well, she supposed humans weren’t all that much better with responsibility either since her mother could never make it on time to anything to save her life. But still, they needed to learn to show on time or she was going to get royally annoyed off.
“Sorry Gina!” a voice called and she rolled her eyes.
“Where have you been Angela?”
“Class,” the girl answered. “Power went out over there and ended up making class run overtime. Won’t happen again.”
“Maybe that won’t, but you always have an excuse,” Gina replied. “You should move your classes or something so you have plenty of time to make it to work.”
“I can try,” Angela sighed. “Hate dealing with switching classes, but it is better than losing my job.”
“Please share that enthusiasm with David, wherever he is.”
“Oh!” she sounded before continuing. “He is helping, whatever Ose is going by, into his new flat. Should be here soon though.”
“Here,” David said dully as he entered.
“See,” Angela grinned.
Gina let out a small sigh and turned to Angela. “Please calm down on your cheer. We have a certain reputation to uphold here and being all bright and shiny like some angel is not what customers want.”
“Well if no demons or whatever liked angels then she wouldn’t exist,” David mused.
“Please hush David and get to work,” Gina replied with her hand rubbing her forehead as if she had a migraine. “You are already on my nerves. But as I was saying Angela, please tone it down. Try sexy rather than cute. It is what a majority of our customers want at least.”
Angela simply nodded and David chuckled as he checked equipment. Gina continued to rub her forehead as she then left towards the main room again to check up on things.
“Miss Richards,” she heard as she entered.
“Please call me Gina,” She smiled and reached out her hand once she was close.
“Gina,” he nodded before shaking her hand and introducing himself. “I am Detective Zachary Aleshire. I have some questions for you.”
“Questions?” she asked confused. Well, false confusion mostly since she had an idea what it was about.
“May we sit?” he asked and they both sat down at a nearby table after she nodded. “You may have heard around that there have been some murders more recently.”
Gina heard Veronica behind the bar and could tell the demon was trying to pretend not to listen. She felt the urge to narrow her eyes at her, but kept her attention towards the detective. “I have heard, yes. It is hard not to hear anything with how the gossip mill is. Not sure if all details are accurate though since it is gossip after all.”
“Well,” he began. “There have been murders of three politicians and two officers. There was also the murder of one of your client’s mothers. You recognize the name Jezebel Sanders, do you not?”
“I do,” she replied evenly toned. “She is in here most nights. She is very popular.”
“I am sure you have also heard of her mother’s death last month?” “Yes, tragic.”
“I am sure then you also know of her recent marriage,” he continued to ask. “To her step-father?”
“Ex-step-father technically,” Gina corrected. “But yes, I know. I attended the wedding.”
“Well,” he continued. “Do you think that there is any chance that she may have killed her mother to marry him?”
Gina rose an eyebrow and asked, “Why are you asking me? I am pretty sure that is something to discuss with fellow detectives.”
“What I meant to ask is, do you know anything pertaining to her mother’s death?”
“No,” Gina answered. “I keep out of my client’s personal lives and they stay out of mine. And before you ask, no I haven’t overheard anything. For all I know it could have been the king of Egypt, but as I said, I know nothing.”
“Thank you for your time,” he replied though obviously unsatisfied. “I’ll see you around Miss- Gina.”
“Detective,” she nodded.
They both sat up and he made his leave, but was soon distracted by the voice on stage. “Testing 1,2,3,” Angela spoke into the mic. “Sounds good David.”
Gina watched as the detective looked at the singer and she smirked knowingly to herself. She had found that weakness she was looking for. Yes, it wasn’t as good and easy as blackmail, but she could definitely use it. Of course, she’d have to talk to Angela, but that girl would be easily influenced.
“Heh,” Gina’s voice let out before she turned towards the bar.

Three archangels entered the local church, St. Ronan’s, to discuss the recent events going on in the town of Springfield. The first to enter was Zadkiel, who now went by Alexandra Woodrow. She was followed soon by Michael, whom still went by his God given name but with Green as his surname, and then Sariel, who now was referred to as Nathan Sawyer. They all sat down on the front left bench of the church before they began their discussion.
“Do you think it is the demons who are responsible?” Alexandra asked.
“They aren’t all killed by demon hands,” Nathan replied. “Some of them, yes, but many have human trace marks. The deaths are being covered by demons though so I cannot sense their deaths.”
“Do you think the demons are making humans do their dirty work?” Michael asked.
Nathan nodded. “I wouldn’t put it past them.”
“If they aren’t careful they will reveal us all,” Alexandra commented with a sneer.
“And that would cause nothing but trouble,” Michael replied. “The humans are not all ready to know yet.”
“So what are we going to do?” Nathan asked.
“Find the human, or humans, and try to change their minds,” Alexandra replied.
“Why not just turn them into the police? We could act as witnesses,” Nathan suggested.
“No,” Michael replied. “We have no reason why they are working for the demons. They could feel like they have no choice. For all we know the demons could be threatening their families’ lives. We cannot prosecute them for that.”
“Nathan,” Alexandra began, turning towards the fellow angel. “I know you can’t sense the deaths, but try your best to find out whatever you can about them. Maybe Ramiel will know something, or maybe Gabriel. Or if those two know nothing try Gwyn ap Nudd or some other psychopomp for the Underworld.”
“Must I really talk to those hellious beings?” Nathan asked in disgust. “Anyways, they could be part of it all and lead us on a goose chase.” “We need to try all we can,” Michael explained.
“Fine,” Nathan replied reluctantly. “I will talk to Lexis too. She may be able to help. She is always good at roughing up some demons.”
The other two nodded in agreement and Nathan began to head out.
“Nathan,” Alexandra called.
He stopped and turned to look at her. “Yes?”
“She is here,” she said simply as she placed her hands on the back of the bench and rested her head on them.
“Who?”
“Your daughter,” she replied and he tensed up. “She has grown up a bit since your last decent. You should go see her.”
“She wouldn’t want to see me,” he replied with a tone that suggested he didn‘t like that she was mentioned. “She probably doesn‘t want to see me anyway. Her mother always hated me and probably passed that down.”
“You should try anyway,” Michael now spoke up, looking implicitly at Nathan. “The more you avoid her, the more she will grow to hate you. And we most definitely do not need angry and hateful Nephilim running around.”
“So you want me to talk to her so there aren’t more complications?” he asked, growing angry.
“No,” Alexandra answered before giving a stern look to Michael. “You should do it because it is the right thing to do.”
“Alright,” Nathan sighed in defeat, knowing there was no use arguing with her. “I will try. But I am pretty sure it will not end well.” “Thank you,” Alexandra smiled.
Nathan rolled his eyes at her before finally heading out of the church. Michael let out a sigh as he watched the angel leave and commented, “He may be right.”
“Why so?” she asked curiously.
“He isn’t the most social of people,” he answered.
“True,” she nodded since there was no denying it. “But I am sure it will be easier to talk to her than he thinks.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Well,” she began. “She wasn’t raised by her mother. Her mother sadly died a while ago. She has been in an orphanage, but recently she was adopted by a sweet little family though. The Spooners.”
“You wouldn’t mean Ramiel’s son ’s family would you?” he asked with disbelief.
“The very same,” she grinned in amusement. “Surprised you didn’t know. Jeremy told me when I last saw him. He would have been here, but he had work at the hospital.”
“Understandable.”
“I will talk to him later,” she continued. “For now though I think should work on getting tomorrow’s music classes ready.”
“And I have papers to grade,” he replied. “Good eve my lady.” He smiled and jokingly bowed before heading out. She stayed for a bit though and stared up at the cross behind the podium, thinking of what was to come.
~
“Be on your best behavior Baylee,” Marc ordered his newly adopted sister. “Your lucky I even brought you.”
“Aye, aye Captain!” she joked with a smile.
A nurse put her hands on Baylee‘s shoulders and poke up, “Don’t worry Marc. I can watch her while you are working. Can show her around the place too.”
The girl grinned and exclaimed, “Score!”
Laura chuckled and looked to Marc, “Now shoo! You won’t ever become a surgeon if you just lazy about.”
“Alright, alright. I am going now,” he replied before heading down the hall and out of sight.
“So what do you want to see first Baylee?” Laura asked, looking down at the young girl.
Baylee shrugged and replied, “Dunno really. How about we just wander?”
“Alright,” Laura nodded and they began walking aimlessly. “So I hear from Marc you are like him. Am I right?”
“You mean being a Nephi?” she smiled.
“A Nephi?” the woman chuckled. “Never heard Nephilim called anything other than its proper name, but I suppose that works. But yes, a Nephi. I am one too you know.”
“Yeah, Marc told me,” the girl nodded. She entwined her fingers behind her back as she continued curiously, “Do you know your angel parent?”
Laura smiled in amusement. “Yes I have met mine. He works here; Dr. McFadden. You may know him.”
“Dr. Jeremy is your father?” she asked in amazement. “But he looks barely older than you!”
“That is because he left earth not long after my mother got pregnant,” she explained. “He just returned a few years ago. When he returned he chose to look how he does now. I think he was red-headed and named Stan when he and my mother were together.”
“What was it like meeting him?” Baylee asked as she bit her lip in bashfulness. “I haven’t gotten to meet my father yet.”
“It was strange,” she answered, looking straight forward. “Didn’t really know what to expect and it was odd with him looking barely older than me. But we get along. We are more like brother and sister than father and daughter, but that works for me since I already have an earth father.” Her eyes were clouded slightly as she talked, but quickly recovered herself and smiled down at Baylee. “By the way, who is your father? I never got around to asking Marc.”
“Sariel,” she answered simply with a slight saddened expression.
“Sariel?” Laura asked with a chuckle. “I didn’t know he had a daughter.” “You know him?” she asked with renewed brightness.
“Yes,” Laura nodded with a small smile. “He owns Reaper Records. He isn’t the most social of people. Probably why Marc didn’t tell you he is here.”
“What does he go by?”
“Nathan Sawyer,” she answered after a second of thought. After all it was hard to remember when she had only heard of him from Jeremy.
“It may be hard to find him though,” she continued. “He tends to be busy with work, going back and forth between here and heaven, or keeps to the night life. If you go to the store you can always ask the clerk Lexis if she is there. She would know.”
“Should I go see him?” Baylee asked nervously.
“Definitely,” a voice spoke from behind them.
“Fa-Jeremy,” Laura smiled. “How nice to see you.”
“Same,” the doctor smiled. “And nice to see you again Baylee.”
The girl smiled in return. “You too. Dr. Jeremy, do you know my dad too?”
“I know him pretty well,” he nodded. “We are both archangels.”
“You are one too?” she asked before glaring at the air she envisioned as her brother. “Marc really needs to learn how to tell me things.”
Jeremy chuckled. “You may know me better as Raphael.”
“Oh,” she responded after realizing that he had been mentioned. “Is that why you are a doctor? Because you are an angel of healing?”
He nodded and turned to Laura. “Before I forget, I would like to talk to you later.”
“About?” she asked; confused.
“I can’t say at the moment,” he answered and glanced over at Baylee. Laura nodded in understanding.
“Well,” he began. “Work to do. See you girls later.”
“Bye!” the girls said in unison before they all went their separate ways.
~
Laura walked into her father’s office later after Baylee had left for home with Marc. “You wanted to see me?” she asked as she made her way in.
“Yes,” he replied; seated at his desk and shifting through paperwork.
“Please sit Laura.”
She nodded and sat down in a chair. “So what is it you want to talk about?” “Alexandra has recently contacted me. I am sure you have heard about all the deaths?”
She nodded. “I have. I take it this is something demonic?”
“Yes,” replied grimly. “You know I wouldn’t ask you to get involved unless I really needed your help and unfortunately I do. She, Michael, and Nathan are asking around, but I would like you to try and get close to detectives Aleshire and Haywood.”
“You mean seduce them?” she asked bluntly.
“If necessary,” he answered. “It would be helpful to know what they know.”
“Alright,” she nodded and started getting up before she stalled. “After work how about we go to Hannah-Marie’s for dinner?”
“Sounds great,” he replied. “I hear the detectives eat there a lot.” “Yeah,” she replied glumly before heading out.

| “School’s out.”
The lone notice flopped in the wind on the now empty bulletin board. It used to be cramped with promotions, notices, awards, and challenges. But all that had been put away now that the school term had ended. Closed and put away in preparation of the new year to come.
The students all looked at each other in dismay. How could the school year have ended so quickly? It seemed as though the term just started. And now…now what were they supposed to do with their extra time and the time they were supposed to be doing homework? How could their lives go on?
“Maybe we should take up a summer activity.” Violetriddle suggested to the people around her.
“But what could be as good? What?” SilverLady said with a sniffle as she hugged a pillar in the Great Hall.
“She’s right. Where else can we find roleplaying and games and chatting all at the same place?” Pickles asked with a scowl. “Nowhere!”
“I don’t want to leave.” Elana sobbed onto Jenn’s shoulder. “What will we do?”
“She’s right you guys. We can try other sites and places, but nothing else will be as much fun and we all know it!” Jenn said as she slammed a fist into the wall. A shocked look crossed her determined face. “Owww….”
As Elana and Jenn huddled together to fix her injury, the rest of the group continued to murmur ideas.
“Maybe we could all join one site together? So at least it could be familiar.”
“But I don’t like change…”
“Or we could use this time to read and watch TV.”
“Or maybe-”
“Or what if we don’t leave at all?”
Everyone suddenly stopped talking and looked over at Caro. “What do you mean?”
She sat on the stairs banister and kicked her legs back and forth. “I mean, why do we have to leave at all? We have fun here. This is our home and I say we keep it that way! We could just wait around for the new term to start. No matter how long it may be.”
Everyone was quiet for a moment as Cat raised her hand. “I can cook for everyone if you want.”
June also raised her hand. “So can I.”
Katie pointed up the stairs. “Gryffindor has plenty of beds to those who need it.” As everyone started to volunteer various jobs and duties, it was as though a bond was formed. They all stared at each other as broad grins started to cross their faces one by one.
“That’s right! Why should we leave?”
“They can’t make us leave!”
“I’m staying!”
“Me too!”
Although all from different houses and countries, the entire school stood together as one as they waited for Raist to come downstairs. They braced themselves for his anger but they weren’t going to budge from their decision.
Raist came down and stopped short at the crowd that glared at him. He twirled the paper in his hands as he looked around at them. “What is this?”
“We’re not leaving.” Polly said as she linked arms with Stephy. “And you can’t make us.”
“No, you can’t.”
Sashi took a step forward and glared at Raist straight in his face. “We’ve all decided to stay. Just because school ended doesn’t mean you can make us go. We demanded to be allowed to stay here until the school year starts again. And we won’t take no for an answer!”
Everyone held their breath, occasionally fidgeting when Raist turned his gaze on them. Finally he shrugged his shoulder. “Sure, whatever.”
Elana looked at his in confusion. “Really?”
“Yeah.” He walked over and took the school’s out notice off of the bulletin board. Taking out another tack, he fastened another flyer on. “Because school officially starts now.”
“Huh?”
“Now that school’s started again, can everyone please leave the Great Hall?” As everyone just stared at him, Raist cleared his throat again. “Everyone out now before I dock 50 points from you!”
With that said, a gust of wind nearly pushed Raist over as every scrambled to get out of there as quick as they could. Raist let out a sigh and grinned at Kate. “It’s good to have school back.” | |

| It was empty, yet it still seemed full.
Dumbledore’s office was still filled with his knickknacks he collected over the years. The important items such as Godric Gryffindor’s sword to the Sorting Hat. Memorable things that was invaluable at Hogwarts. Rows and rows of cabinets and shelves all filled with information about Hogwarts and how to run it. Schedules neatly stacked on a chair. Students’ files and teacher’s requests were scattered throughout the various tables.
But there were other things in the office too. Things that made this office so clearly Dumbledore’s and nobody else’s. Bowls of muggle lemon drop candies that he was so fond of weighted down papers. Books of every subject lined the walls, from history to quidditch to books muggles liked to call encyclopedias. A strange large instrument with silver curls and curves puffed smoke and steam, something that no one but Dumbledore understood. It was exactly the same as before. The only difference was an empty golden perch that used to have a phoenix was now empty.
And that was because Dumbledore was no longer here. He would never step foot in the headmaster’s office again.
Yes, it was empty alright.

A detective entered Hannah-Marie’s diner and sat across the table from his partner, Zachary Aleshire. They both nodded in greeting, the younger one sitting in front of a hot brew and opening a medicine bottle. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it up, thankful that the diner was one of the few places left who were kind enough to allow smoking. Good ol’ fashioned restaurants, he thought to himself.
“Migraine from hell be, gone,” Zachary groaned before popping a Tylenol into his mouth and taking a swig of his coffee.
“That can cause liver damage, you know?” his sister, Laurissa, commented as she approached the table and pointed to the cup with her pen.
He swallowed liquid before asking with an eyebrow raised, “Coffee causes liver damage? I thought coffee reduces it.”
“Not with Tylenol,” she pointed out before turning to Detective Brendan Haywood. “So what would you like? Cup a’ Joe?”
“Cup a’ Joe?” he asked with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion before turning to Zachary. “Since when do teenagers say Cup a’ Joe?”
“Young adult,” she corrected with a stern look, making her brother chuckle. “And since I began working here and serving old men. Such as yourself.” She smirked and tapped on her order pad with her pen idly.
“Old?” he asked in shock and looked to his fellow detective for backup.
“Sorry man,” he replied with hands in the air. “But to her you might as well be.”
“But I am only thirty-five,” Brendan argued.
“Hmm,” she sounded before joking, “I thought you were thirty.”
The detective put his face in his hands as his partner laughed. “Just get me a cup would ya?” he requested, agony apparent in his voice.
Laurissa wrote it down on her pad before glancing between Brendan and her brother. “Did I hurt his feelings?”
“No,” Zachary shook his head. “Just gave a push towards mid-life crisis.”
Brendan simply flipped him off and the two others simply chuckled.
“Guess I will go get that coffee now,” Laurissa said before going to get it. Zachary leaned an arm on the top of the cushioned seat and looked at his partner with a smile of amusement. “Alright sunshine,” he joked. “We got business to discuss.”
Brendan groaned, but lifted his head anyway. “So what was it you wanted to talk to me about?”
“I went to see Gina Richards earlier,” he began. “She seems to know more than she is saying.”
“Why do you say that?” Brendan asked.
“Well, she says that she went to Sanders’s wedding, but yet keeps out of her clients’ lives,” he answered.
“I went to Officer Murray’s wedding and I have never once talked to him,” the other man replied. “Well except the occasional hello.”
“I suppose you are right about that,” Zachary replied with a frown before taking a sip of his coffee. “But I still get a vibe that she knows something.”
Laurissa approached the table again and set the cup in front of Brendon. She then looked to her brother and asked curiously, “Who knows what?”
“You know I can’t talk about cases with you,” her brother replied and gave her a firm look over the rim of his cup as he took a sip.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” she said and rolled her eyes. “Not like I won’t find out once you make an arrest and gets into the papers. Plus, for all you know I may know something and you won’t since you didn’t talk to me.”
“Do you know anything I should?” he asked with a brow raised.
She shrugged, “I dunno. I may know some small, but important detail that I just can’t know you need to know. Kind of like on CSI and all those shows.”
He sighed and decided to ask her something to make her happy. “What do you know about Jezebel Sanders and Gina Richards?”
She pursed her lips in thought before answering, “Well, I know Gina is the owner of the Morning Star. That’s all I know about her. But I used to go to school with Jezebel. Wouldn’t be surprised if she killed her mom or hired someone to kill her.” She snorted and shook her head at the memory of the girl.
“Why do you say that?” Zachary asked with interest.
“She was always saying how much she hated her mom and adored her step-dad, or should I say husband,” she gave a look of disgust before continuing. “Actually, I am pretty sure she is responsible. Everyone who knows her would probably agree too. Her mom always seemed to happy to commit suicide anyways.”
“Any chance, you think, that she may responsible for any of the other deaths around?” he asked, hopeful.
Laurissa thought for a second before shaking her head. “I don’t think so. Not unless they had royally ticked her off. I don’t even think the murders are connected. I mean the others were all obvious murders, weren’t they?”
He frowned and nodded. “You are right. Mrs. Sanders’s death was too different.” He gritted his teeth and hit the table with his fist in frustration. “Damn it!”
Laurissa jumped back a bit and Brendan sighed. “Calm, Zack,” he ordered. “Calm? How can I be calm when we are getting nowhere?”
“We got somewhere,” he argued coolly. “We are now positive Jezebel had a motive.”
“We still have no evidence,” Zachary replied. “Motives don’t get people convicted.
“But it is a start,” Brendan said.
The frustrated detective took a deep breath before grabbing his coat and saying, “I am going out for a walk.” He then put on his jacket, took his coffee, and made his leave; leaving his partner and sister to look at each other with small frowns.
~
Angela heard the applause and fought off a smile. A smile would be too “angelic” as Gina would say, so instead she gave a sultry smirk before making her way towards David. She ignored all the whistles made towards her, as she usually did, and leaned towards her friend and said, “I’m getting a small headache. Think you can entertain them with a song so I can have a minute of silence to cool it down?”
“Sure thing, Ang,” he replied and began to work his magic on his turntable as she headed out.
Once outside, her hands quickly made her way to her arms due to the cold air. She instantly regretted not grabbing a coat, but she decided against going back in and dealing with the crowd. She enjoyed singing, but she didn’t enjoy many people in the audience; especially the men who would make crude comments about her. She sighed, knowing that it was the only place she could sing. She would prefer to get a record, possibly talking Nathan Sawyer into becoming her manager like he did for some, but she was too intimidated. He was an archangel and even the lowest of Nephilim rejected her for her demon blood.
She stretched her neck in a circular motion before blowing her hair out of her eyes and staring aimlessly across the street. She eventually leaned against the wall and could feel the pulse of the music within. As she leaned on the wall, Angela caught sight of a familiar man in her peripheral vision. She wonders - for some reason unknown to her - what is up to, but keeps to herself and pretends like she didn’t see him. Of course, it soon became hard to do once he approached her.
Zackary Aleshire had debated on whether or not to talk to the singer, but eventually walked up to her and he watches as she quirks an eyebrow. He simply nods, not sure what else to do.
“Hello Detective,” she greats him. “Is there something you want?”
He suddenly realizes he had no real reason to approach her and begins searching his mind for something to say. He quickly revives his typical cool and replies, “I wanted to talk to you about the murders going on around town. Is there anything you know?”
He silently wishes he could have asked her something else; something less serious. But it was too late and he knew that he wouldn’t have been able to think of anything else anyway.
She shrugged before answering, “Nothing much. People died. Shot I think from what I hear. Really, I don’t know much personally.”
“Know anyone that might?” he pressed on.
“Possibly,” she replied before pausing for a second. “This is a dangerous case to be involved in Detective.”
“Why do you say that?” he asked with a quirked brow.
She frowned. “Because you will either end up dead or discover things you couldn’t even fathom. And no, that isn’t a threat. It is just a warning of what I am sure will happen.”
“Is that so?” he asked with a chuckle.
She looks him dead in the eyes and replies, “Yeah.” She looks towards the club and hears a song ending. “Gotta go now. I have a job to get to.”
He nodded before asking, “Could we meet up at the park tomorrow at noon? I would like to talk to you some more.”
“Alright Detective,” she smiled and headed towards the door to the club. Before she entered she stopped and glanced back at the detective; there eyes meeting. She then looked forward and entered the pulsating club.

At around nine in the evening, Laura and Jeremy left the hospital, Cox North, in their mundane clothing and made their way to Hannah-Marie’s. Though they could have taken his car since it was in the hospital parking lot, they chose to walk since it was less than a five minute walk. The first few minutes of the short walk was silent, but Laura quickly decided to interrupt the silence.
“How was work Fa-” she began to ask but couldn’t manage to get out the last word, so instead she finished with, “Jeremy.”
She was thankful for the darkness which hid her blush. She frowned a bit to herself as she waited for an answer, wishing that she wasn’t so embarrassed to call her real father ‘Father’ or ‘Dad‘.
“It was alright,” he replied and went no further into detail. He didn’t even ask she was in return and Laura thought to herself that he really didn’t know how to talk to people, probably as much as Nathan didn’t.
She frowned to herself, feeling defeated. No matter how hard she tried, she never could manage to get any closer to her father than she did. They could talk in groups, but at times like this it was hard to communicate at all. She would talk to him about it, of course, except she was sure that would ruin the relationship she had managed to build. She only hoped that if Baylee met her father she didn’t have as hard of a time.
After a few minutes longer, they two entered the diner and it didn’t take them long to spot Detective Haywood. Laura instantly knew what Jeremy wanted her to do and separated herself from her father who made his way to sit on a bar stool. She walked up to the Detective and offered him a smile before introducing herself.
“Detective Haywood?’ she greeted and offered her hand. “I am Laura Stevens. May I sit with you?”
He looked up in surprise before taking her hand and shaking it. “Hi Laura. You can and please call me Brendan.”
“Brendan,” she nodded and sat down across from him, exactly where Jeremy had sat earlier. “How is work as a detective going?”
“So, so,” he replied after swallowing a bite of his burger. “It is just like usual. Crimes to solve, criminals to catch.”
She smirked in false interest and asked, “Anything interesting that you are working on now?”
“Just those murders going on about town, but the case seems like such a dead end it isn’t very interesting,” he answered before taking the last bite of his burger. Just before Laura managed to say anything, Brendan scooted out of his seat and stood up. “It was nice meeting you, but I have to go.”
She nodded before he walked off to the register and paid for his burger his previous coffee. After he was gone, Laura’s head impacted the table in disappointment. She felt like a failure and her father had seen it. She thought, sarcastically, that it was the perfect impression to leave on someone she wanted to impress. She then silently hoped that the detective was gay as to ease her feeling of failure.

Zachary walked on the man-made path through the park; idly reading the sign reading ‘Highland Point’ as he entered. There weren’t many there since it was a weekday afternoon and most were at school or work. He was one of the latter, though his permitted his visit here since it was to talk to someone about a case. Of course, he wasn’t sure whether he wanted to talk to her for work or pleasure. Work, he told himself, but he wasn’t confident in the answer.
It didn’t take long to spot his reason for being there. The woman sat on the bench, watching the squirrels who were playing tag nearby. Her face was bright and lively and he couldn’t help but stare at her with awe. She soon noticed him and offered him a smile, which he quickly returned.
“Detective Aleshire,” she greeted.
“Zackary, please,” he insisted and she nodded.
“Familiarities?” she asked in amusement. “I thought officers of the law weren’t supposed to be so personal with people being questioned.”
He chuckled and replied, “Well, I have learned that treating people like hardened criminals tends to not get me the answers I want.”
“That is very likely,” she commented before continuing. “Well, my name is Angela.” He thought to himself that her name was as angelic as her, but she spoke up again before he embarrassingly said so out loud. “So, what is it you wanted to talk about?”
“What do you know about the murders?” he asked her for the second time since he met her.
Her brightness seemed to fade as she replied, “I told you last night.”
“Last night you gave me a vague answer,” he said. “I want to know everything.”
“I can’t tell you everything, Zachary.”
“Why not?” he asked, feeling a bit irritated.
“Because then I would die, lose things precious to me, or whatever people like me feel is a proper for my telling you,” she answered with her eyes looking straight into his.
“People like you?” he asked confused.
She nodded. “I can’t tell you who we are, but we are something you probably never thought existed, even if you were a religious man.” Before he could question her words, she interrupted. “If you want to know, then go talk to Krista Thomas and David Reynolds. They should be at Knightley Gallery at the moment. I believe they are helping Zooey Haslett with her big gallery opening next week. They can tell you what you need to know and how to change things.”
“Change things?” he asked, even more confused than before.
She stood up silently and placed a hand on the side of his face. She then smiled softly before kissing him softly on his lips. “You won’t remember that after all is done, but I wanted to know what it would be like. Now go and find them. It was nice meeting Zackary. Hope we don’t have another reason re-meet.”
He was about to ask her what she meant, but he knew that she wouldn’t answer. Instead, he watched her walk away until heading the opposite way to the gallery where he would supposedly look for all the answers he was looking for.
~
He stood in front of the building, looking up at the sign for the gallery. His talk with Angela had left him with even more confused questions and supposedly this was were he was going to get his answers. Of course, the answer as to why she had kissed him wouldn’t likely be told, but at least his other questions would be.
He walked up the steps and into the building. Inside he saw various works of art and one woman adjusting a painting on a wall. He cleared her throat to get her attention and succeeded.
“The gallery is closed,” she said. “The exhibit isn’t until Saturday.”
“Are you Krista?” he asked hopeful.
The woman scoffed. “Am I that museless laze about? No.”
“Can you tell me where to find her?” he asked. “And David Reynolds.”
“They are in the back room,” she replied, irritated from just thinking about them. “May I ask why you came here to came here to see them?”
“It has to do with a case,” he replied and made sure to not mention Angela.
“So the mouse has tracked down the cat catching all his friends?” she commented with a chuckle. “This way.”
He did not dare to ask her about her question, figuring she wasn’t going to answer just as Angela hadn’t, and instead simply followed her. They reached a door in the back and the woman, who by now he had assumed was the Zooey the other two were supposedly helping, opened it. Within, two people, who were making-out on a sofa, stopped and looked at their intruder with shock.
“Can’t you knock?” The girl, likely Krista, asked in annoyance.
“It is my gallery and you are supposed to be helping me, so I really don’t care,” she replied before smirking. “Anyways, you two have a visitor.”
The woman then left and Zackary stood silently at the doorway as the two moved so they were sitting beside each other on the couch. Krista gestured the detective in and he entered and sat down nearby the two.
“You wanted to see us, Detective?” David asked.
“Detective?” Krista nearly squeaked in surprise.
Zackary eyed the girl. “I wanted to talk to you about the murders.”
The man nodded and the girl beside him looked uneasy. “I take it you talked to Angela?”
“Yes,” the detective replied. “I am guessing she told you about our meeting.”
“We are both close friends, so naturally,” David answered.
“She told him everything didn’t she?” Krista asked, suddenly standing up.
“No, love,” David began to explain, motioning for her to sit back down. “I will tell him, but you will not be in trouble. Trust me, everything has been planned out.”
“Well,” Zachary started. “Care to explain?”
“Yes, care to?” the girl looked at him expectantly, just as confused as the detective.
David chuckled slightly. “Where to start? Well, Detective. Zooey, Angela, and I are known as Half-Breeds. We are half demon and half human. Except for Angela. She is one of the rare ones that are have an angel parent rather than human.”
He could tell that the detective was getting annoyed with the seemingly fantasy tale, but continued. “I know this sounds crazy, but listen. There are demons and angels here on earth and children of theirs. The children of angels and men are called Nephilim and they are the counterparts to Half-Breeds.
“It may seem strange to you, but it is the truth. Krista here is human, but she got involved with our kind. Her mother is ill in the hospital and needs surgery. She is poor though and cannot afford it. So, Krista here is doing her best to earn money. The best paying job and the only one she has knowledge to do is basically, without a better term, as an assassin for some demons. She learned all she knows back when she did training for the F.B.I.”
“This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard,” Zachary commented and rolled his eyes.
“I know how it sounds, but it is the truth.”
“I am leaving,” he finally decided and started getting up to leave.
“Wait!” David said, annoyed by ignorance of the human, and shot a ball of fire in the pathway.
Zackary stood with eyes wide and the room was silent for a moment. A voice, stifled by the wall, came from the other room yelling, “David Alec Reynolds, if you burn down my gallery I will kill you!”
This caused an eruption of laughter from Krista and David before they silenced upon seeing Zackary horrified face. David gave a nervous chuckle before talking again. “I am pretty sure you believe me now, huh?”
“I don’t even know what I saw,” Zackary answered.
“Well,” the half-breed began. “That was a fire ball, I guess. I usually don’t use those except for when in fights with other demons, half-breeds, and the like. Figured it would convince you though.”
“Maybe,” the human replied, still recovering.
“Well, would you at least like to know what our solution to everything is? Our way of saving Krista from being convicted and making it as if the murders never happened?”
“You don’t expect me to cover everything up do you?”
“No!” David spoke defensively. “That is what Armstrong is trying to do.”
“You don’t mean to tell me that he is one of your kind too?” the detective asked in disbelief.
“Not exactly,” he explained. “He is a demon. As is his wife. Both of whom are dangerous and you should avoid. Anyways, we want to change what happened. Make it so Krista did not ever need to ask for demon help and thus never killed anyone.”
“How do we do that exactly?”
“There is a demon. They can grant a wish to their summoner and can change the past if requested.”
Zackary took it all in for a second before asking, “Why don’t one of you summon them?”
David sighed. “The summoner must be human. And before you ask, Krista cannot do it because she is not pure. She has killed and, well, not a virgin. Demons kind of like that whole innocence thing.”
“So what does the demon get in exchange?” he asked, confused. “There innocence?”
“In a way,” David explained. “The demon gets their innocence in form of their complete submission to him.”
“Well, I’d love to help, but I am not exactly all pure either,” Zackary commented.
“Figured not,” the man said. “But you can help us find someone who can do it.”
“Ask someone to submit to a demon?”
“Actually,” David began again. “There is a loophole. Since they would request for a change of the past then, in a way, they never wished for anything. Thus the demon has no control over them. It pisses them off, but the human gets a free clearing.”
“So why can’t you find a pure human yourself?” Zackary asked.
“Not exactly the easiest thing to find out about a person if you aren’t one of the types of demons who look for that. That is why we need you. Unlike us half-breeds you can talk to Nephilim or an angel to find out since they can since that whole innocent crap. You could talk to demon who is after innocence if you wanted, but they would likely try to get them or simply reject you for the principle of the matter.”
Zackary sighed, knowing he was going to end up helping them despite the fact he didn’t even know what he was getting into. “Where do I find one of these Nephilim or angels?”
“There are a few places,” David smirked in victory before telling Zackary of all the ones he knew the locations of. To the detective’s amazement, there were quote a few of those previously mythical creatures.
