The rectangular boxes are supposed to be a fence and the leaves at the bottom are meant to be carrots and lettuce...fail. xD
Cows are a very important part of any farm. Using the milk they produce, many other products can be made including cheese, yogurt and all other types of dairy products. Because of this, cows are a very reasonable animal to house on a farm and will contribute greatly to the farms products.
In order to care for the farm, they’ve been given a large space in which they can graze on grass but a fence to keep them on the farm land. They are also milked twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, too keep them from any pain. Hay is also provided during the winter to be sure that all the cows have sufficient nutrients.
Chickens, a very popular animal on farms, also have a very big importance not only to the farm, but to other businesses. The eggs are collected once a day which can later be sold fresh to large companies.
The bedding in the chicken coop is cleaned twice a month and staff ensure that there is always enough water and feed for all the chickens. At night, the chickens are all put back into the chicken coop to avoid any possible predator attacks.
I’ve also selected
pigs for my farm. Pigs are a very important part of human diets providing meats such as pork, ham and bacon. In order to care for the pigs, they’ve been given lots of room to roll around in the mud with and are fed with corn, barley, and oats everyday to keep them healthy. Because pigs use mud in order to cool down, their pen has a section completely devoted to their favorite way to relax on a hot summer day.
My farm also includes
sheep. Sheep are shaved when their wool which is then sold to other companies to be spun into clothes.
To care for the sheep, they are fed twice a day and always have a supply of water. There is also a shelter for them in the barn on hot days when their wool is too long to stay outside. To keep them healthy, sheep need exercise so their roomy pasture provides them with the opportunity to run around to their liking.
Horses are friendly animals and often seen on farms. The horses are used to help herd the animals from one pen to the next to keep them all together. Though they are no longer needed to pull farm equipment, they are still an important animal on a farm.
It’s necessary for horses to have plenty of room to run as well as hay to eat (and an occasional apple as a treat is nice). We make sure there is always enough water for the horses and take them out riding daily to make sure they are healthy and they’re brushed everyday.
The last animal on my farm is a
dog. Dogs often help horses on farms for rounding up animals or moving them between places. Besides their work, they also make great company for the farmers.
To care for the dog, he is fed every day and there is always plenty of water for him. Because dogs need to be run to stay healthy, he is played with at least once a day and taken out with the horses. He stays in the barn or farmhouse at night and knows to bark if anything unusual happens outside, such as a predator stalking one of the animals.
