Sashi

Standing at the school grounds, Sashi waited for the maze to pop up and begin her Maze Challenge.

She's shaking, her hands and feet were sweating cold. "Great job Sashi! Signing up for something to face your fears," she sighed, "anywhere but in a MAZE!" She never liked being alone. As for mazes, she only like them if they're on papers. "Pffft!" blowing her bangs off of her face, "Great! I forgot my clip!" she exclaimed.

Suddenly, greened walls began to rise up, reaching the sky as high as they could. Sashi put out her wand, getting ready to step into the maze...all by herself.

As the walls stopped growing, though she could hardly tell, thinking she should then start going, she stepped her right foot in and with her arms extended, ready to cast a spell if ever, she marched slowly into the maze, as alert as she could.

Trembling, she walked straight and reached her first intersection. "Now where?North? East? Or west?" she asked herself.

"Okay, how about left?" she asked herself as she looked westward.

Fisssss! Sashi was on her turning when she heard something unadorable. And as she looked on her right, she's been surprised by hot flowing lava coming to her.

Panicking she turned around to run for her life, but the other passages have started closing behind her. The lava is getting near to her so fast, she have to think of ways to get out of this nightmare, quick!

"Stupid! Use your wand!" she pointed her wand to the lava that is now about eight feet away from her and shouted, "Aguamenti!" Drops of water came out from her wand, and they weren't enough to stop the lava.

Irritated, panicking and worried she swished her wand harshly saying, "Oh, please! Not now!" tapping her forehead she chanted Focus! Focus! Focus! with her eyes tightly shut.

When the lava was just about a feet away from her, that's the only time she managed to shout louder, "Aguamenti!" This time, streams of water fountained from her wand, then a few minutes as she swished it in the middle of the wand's performance the current get stronger, making her feel that she is seemingly holding a firetruck's hose. With this much force she's obligated to hold her wand with both hands. Because of the droplets raining on her together with her fright she closed her eyes with her back leaning against the closed wall behind her.

Few minutes later, the charm began to fade. She looked and assured that the fire's all out (or the lava to be exact). They have turned into rocks, though still hot, anybod can say so for the rocks were still in smoke. Sashi stepped forward trying the magma if she can now go on. As her shoe touched the magma it created a faint fissing sound. "Whew! Okay, so it is somehow out," she said to herself. "But I have to be sure," she pointed out to herself. "...and be safe," she added.

"Accio rocks!" and rocks floated on the air and started to pile up in front of her. With another swish of her wand she made the rocks form into a solid bridge five inches above the ground and made her way all the way to the end of the path, there she found a left turn where the lavaprints (a term she made up) seemed to have vanished. She hopped from her self-made bridge and marched back into the maze reaching another fork.

Sashi continued walking through the maze reaching a fork, but before she could've even get far, something blocked her way. She looked at it carefully and saw that there were jewels stuck on it. She went near to it.

Taking a few more careful steps, she noticed that the seemingly quiet piece of thing resting in front of her is a Fire Crab. Though honestly she didn't noticed it at once, not until it turned around and confronted her face to face!

She have read lots of articles about them though, and she have remembered that Fire Crabs won't attack you if you'll not do harm on them. Hence, they'll not shoot flames at you if you'll not be the first to attack one.

Thinking of ways on how to get through as she can't just avoid it, for the it's blocking her way, she stepped back carefully in thought that she should just take a different route.

Stupid! You're on the right track! This creature won't be in here if you're not! she argued with herself.

Trying not to make it think that she's here to mess with him, she assured that her movement weren't harsh and are slow. But the Fire Crab seems to be misleading her moving away as he raised his head and stretched his feet to elevate. The Fire Crab is now looking angrily at her with it's head stuck out reaching the height of hers. This Fire Crab sure is from a specie of the huge Fire Crabs.

With knees shaking as the Fire Crab seemed to be suspicious, she held her wand tightly on her side. She's not risking herself to pose for a battle, though getting a nice grip on her wand made her ready for any attack from the Fire crab for the next seconds.

Sashi made another careful step backward, but as she did the fire got angrier. It stood on it's hind legs raising the other four and took a deep breath maybe to collect enough fire to shoot at her. And as she saw the Fire Crab stood up for breathing in, she grabbed the chance to cast a spell against him. She stretched out her wand and used the tickling spell against him as she shouted "Rictusempra!".

How random! she thought.

But apparently, she shot inaccurately. The spell was supposed to hit the creature's body, but it hit it's legs instead making the Fire Crab just get out of balance, though it managed not to fall off.

I always knew that my randomness also has it's own useful gifts. If only I have aimed it more accurate, he might've had fallen.

Having six legs....it is somehow impossible to make it fall. But before it could've get all it's legs back onto the ground, Sashi cast a spell against him again, "Flipendo!". The spell hit the Fire Crab's right front leg, it hit the ground with it's front and again she cast a spell against the defenseless creature at that moment, "Immobulus!!"

At last! She now have all her chances to get away past the Fire Crab. But before she have rushed past through it, she cast a spell onto herself. The Flame-Freezing Charm. A charm that changes the effects of a fire, so that instead of burning, it feels like a warm summer breeze and some gentle tickling sensation.

"Now fire will no longer bother me. Not at all! Nah-ah!" she chanted onto the Fire Crab as she shook her head sideways.

"I can't believe I haven't thought of this earlier," she told herself as she skipped past the frozen Fire Crab onto the next corridor.

As Sashi turned into the next passageway she begun to hear muffled crying. She wondered what it is, and by the sound of it, it seemed like whoever is crying is need of help. She thought there might be other people in the maze, must have been stuck on something or what. So, she hurried down the corridor towards to where the crying is coming from. Seconds later she have finally reached the site where the crying is coming from. A plant-like thing is getting it's way out of the ground. And before she could've even realized what the wriggling thing is it started to wail. "Mandr--ahhhhh!!" she exclaimed as she held both of her hands against her ears. The mandrake wailed at the top of its puny lungs. Despite the palms hindering a direct hit of notes from the mandrake to her ears, it's wail still made Sashi knelt on the ground. Obviously her palms aren't enough to survive it's wailing.

But this isn't enough, I should get out of here. She thought to herself as she ran away the baby mandrake. Oh, wait, what if this is the right way? Shoot! I have to do something. She again argued with herself.

She continued running though, and by the time that the wail of the baby mandrake seemed to be too far away, she then removed her hands off of her ears and cast a Silencing Charm to the sky. "Silencio!" she chanted making the wail of the baby mandrake silenced. Now she can barely hear any wail anymore.

Now, to get back to that corridor. She told herself. She pointed her wand in front of her raised and shouted, "浮法Mandrake的！" It is a floating charm and so it did make the mandrake floated into the air. Then she went to the place where the mandrake is now floating over with. She dash as she ran towards each corridors and as she reached the place again, she looked up at the muted wailing baby mandrake. "你仍然是一个孩子！你认为你可以智取我就这样？啊！猜了！" she shouted to the baby mandrake and gave it a raspberry before she went off to the next corridor. She meant "You're still a baby! Do you think you can outsmart me just like that? Hah! Guess again!" in English.
