Save the Quill! We Need Your Donations!

Hi everyone.

As you know, in the three years that HE has been open, we the staff have never asked for anything other than that all members obey the rules.

However it is with a heavy heart that I inform you all that unless we can raise some money within 2 days ($55/£39 to be exact) we will lose The Hogwarts-Quill Fanfiction archive.

I know its a lot of money and its more than any of us staff members can pay on our own, the money is required to pay the efiction host, now, this used to cost $7 per year but the host has raised prices so high that it is impossible for us to keep the Quill alive without help from all of you.

If we do not pay the $55/£39 by the 12th March, the host will delete the site, all of your fiction has been backed up by Amy, however should the site be deleted there is NO WAY for us to put them up on another site.

We all love the quill, think of all the house points you have earned from submitting work to the quill as part of the challenge, without the quill these points and challenges will not be able to take place in the amount that they have.

Do you honestly want to lose the quill? I know I don't. That is why, I am asking each and everyone of you to donate at least $1 or whatever you can spare. That's all, I myself will donate once this post is complete.

If each of us donates $1, we'll be able to save the quill. So come on guys show your love for HE and the Quill .... AND everyone who donates will not only get the deep satisfaction that they helped saved our beloved site, but will also get house points .... 100 house points for $1? Wow, you would spend more on Facebook.

I have money saved up so I may be able to help. I'll have to talk to my mom about it.

I donated. I get paid Saturday, otherwise I would have sent the entire 55 bucks. So if you have to chip in more of your own money, please let me know and I will be sure to cover it on Saturday! Or I can send an extra small payment if we are really close to the goal, just let me know!

Call me an idiot, but how do I switch the amount to U.S. Dollars? I'd certainly be willing to fund the rest of it.

Justin, go to this website: http://www.xe.com/ and it will tell you how many dollars you're pound are. A pound is basically $1.38 in US currency. So if you donated 1 pd that would be 1.38, 2 pds would be 2. 76, and so on.

Wow, you guys are so close! I get paid on Sunday, but I can gather enough money around the house to do the rest! I <3 the Quill to much ;A; I'll ask my mom first thing tomorrow.

I renewed the hosting this morning, so no fear, HQ is not going anywhere (for another year, at least XD)

If you still wish to donate to the site, you may do so, and the money will be used for other things to improve the site for you.

I'll be adding the housepoints of those who donated shortly, and giving you some award points as well.

I'm going to keep the housepoints/award points for donations rule as well, and I'll make an official post on that soon.
