New Chat Room & IM

We've added a brand new chat room and IM system to the site.

Features of the new chat room:

-It's browser based
-It works like an IM - ability to add people to a Friends list, so you can see when they're online
-It makes a sound, and the tab blinks every time someone adds a message - no more forgetting to reply
-Different colours, fonts and text sizes
-Multiple chat rooms & private conversation windows in the same browser window

As this is new, we'll consider the next couple of weeks as a beta-test, to see if you all like it and want to make it the official HE chat room.

So, visit the chat, register and post your opinions in this thread. Also, post your chat username here so others can add you to their friends list.

If you have any questions about it, then post them here.

Note: there is not automatically a chat room when you enter. If you click the chat rooms list and find that there are no rooms listed, simply create one yourself called "The Hogwarts Experience".

As always, remember the chat room needs to be kept to a 12+ rating, no unsuitable links should be given out, and all other site rules are in place.

I'm guessing that this one also needs java installed onto your computer to use it... Why does java have to take forever to download!!!???!!?!?!?!? XD

I like it, though the whole grammer correction thing could get on my nerves, I guess it would be easier for others to read it lol.

That's what i thought. Well I'm almost at 70% of installing it and it says that it will be done in an hour and a half. A great way to spend my night New Chat Room & IM! 436937

When I was in there it kept disconnecting me from the chat. I'm thinking it has to deal with the fact I have dial up? Maybe it's my connection. I dunno know but it keeps disconnecting me
