No seriously - i either argue with my mum aaaaaaaaall the time or have dad talking about 'it's for your own good' stuff which is complete you-know-what.

Heh. Only for the people who hardly ever argue with their parents. The worst it's been for me is the time both me and my mum were crying over... er.... something *has forgotten what* and then i spent about 2 hours lying in a sleeping bag in the porch. So really, not that bad... *will never get kicked out*... *she hopes* Lol!

i feel kinda guilty because the're parents, they give you food, money, clothes, a home and by arguing it sometimes sounds like you're ungrateful, so feel guilty. I know most of the time it's the parents who start the arguement, but then they say something that makes you feel guilty.

Well, my mum's never home and when she is she just complains about how messy my room is and how bad i behave and stuff... sooooooo, it's my bro mostly who looks after that i eat and wake up, so he's my only family i dare to admit being related to lol.

I'm not ungrateful, but i'm not grateful either, i just have my reasons...

I'm actually the lucky one I guess... my brother get mostly all the arguing part and I don't need to go through it, and I can swear that it's not because I'm the youngest child, but since this is parents thread and not siblings, I won't start on that lol.

Yes, my parents sometimes gets on my nerves. But most of the time I really love them and to imagine my life without them is hardly possible. I guess I am a little spoiled, even though most of the time I deserve it Okay, just kidding lol. But my parents are okay and I rarely fight with them... well, my dad is sometimes really, really annoying because... he doesn't say anything, he speaks with his eyes... and what I see in his eyes isn't exactly fun and it makes me mad, but anyway.

well, my mom is cool, she lets me go out as long as i want (well now i am 18 but even before) as long as she doesn't have to pick me up from where i am going. i can drink and smoke and get piercings and tattoos as much as i want because she knows i won't do it.

my real dad is a jerk. he refused to help my mom and my stepdad pay for my year in america, even told me i was stupid to do that and i ruined my whole future... he gave me 50 eurose to use for my driving license (it cost 3000) and yeah...

my stepdad, is quite cool. he payed me america, he is now making plans on how to make it possible for me to go to college in america, although my MOM is against it, he was going to give me ac car but now we'll use that money for college, so i can say the parents i live with are cool and layed back and i am happy they are so cool.

Well, I love my parents a lot. Even when I'm being punished (like last week when i was grounded from the computer), i knew it was for my own good.

Mom helps me a lot. Without her i don't know who I'd be. She buys me almost everything that i have, but when Uncle Kev bought me a sterio she was mad. *shrugs* She is also the one who bought me the iPod and cell phone. She introduced me to dance, which is what i do best...and all of the time. *giggles*

Dad is actually my favorite...hehe. I remember growing up and daddy being there. Mom was always at work, since she was Vice President of her company. Dad is the one who helps me the most with basketball. He's the one who actually introduced me to basketball, and bought me a hoop. I don't give dad enough credit on basketball either. The old man beat me the other day...*sighs* Oh well!

Well, for the most part, those are my parents.

Yehh, my daddy rofl... When he was suppose to teach me to ride a bike (when i was little of course) he promised to not let go of the bike, that he would always hold to it so that i didn't fall, but then his cell rings and he answers it and of course he let go of me and i go riiiiiiight into the bushes... only two ppl, and me, found this funny; my bro and Roman! yehh, roman cracked up when i told him... my mum just totally blew off rofl.

It was fun.

i get on quite well with my parents until they ban me from the internet! I cant wait till i have my own house and my own internet lol

well...i loved my father, I still do...but because of his addictivness to alcohol he didn't show that love back and since my mother died it was just me and him. So, naturally all his frustertion was taken out on me!

But all of u are very lucky to have parents that actually care, so you should apprieciate them and cherish them before its too late. But, in general parents can get annoying..LMAO!!! they drive you

Mum's dead. Dad and I don't talk. Well, we see each other, we just don't have anything to say to one another. We can sit for three hours with beers in our hand and the only words passed between us are:

When I get there -
Dad: G'day.
Me: G'day.

During the three hours -
Me: Want another beer?
Dad: Yeah.

When I leave -
Dad: See ya.
Me: Yep.

Dad's not much of a conversationalist and I understand that, but it's the fact he barely looks at me that really drives me up the wall. But nothing is said because that's just the way we are, we don't talk about things like that. I don't hate him, he doesn't hate me, and it was great when I was younger, we just don't talk.

As both a father and a son I can say that parents are annoying a lot of the times, and there will no doubt be times when you want to kill them - even times when they want to kill you - there's bound to be a fight or two. But people who have got folks who love them and treat them right should just take a look at your relationship with them when you're angry at something, you'll know how important they are to you, though until you're a parent yourself you won't understand just how much you mean to them.

It's a beautiful relationship, and like Jilly said, it should be cherished. Every raised voice, every moment of anger will seem like absolutely nothing once they're gone.

ARRRRRRGH!!!!!! Roman makes it sound so easy and normal to fight with your parents but everyone just simply doesn't jump of joy when they see their parents... there are ppl like that too.

Tiff(wytchkitty) is my mom to me. She is the one who I will call my mom cuz she took me in when my biological mom threw me out to live on the streets.

Tiff is a very nice mom and she has two kids that are young but she treats me like her real son and that makes me feel good.

She's the best mom in the world. We have our disagreeing moments at times but she is 'MOM' She is the one who helps me out and I appreciate her and stuff.

Gah!!! My parents are still married...but like never talk to each other anymore!!! GAH..My dad doesn't even live with us...yet they are still married...and having another kid together!! (Well...he can't live here right now because of his job...but still!!!!)[/b]

hmmmm well yeh well my parents they are hardly ever around. they always seem to have something better to do than be with me. my mum is cool when she is in. my dad's ok the gives me money coz he's feels bad that he's not at home. my mum and dad always have parties to go to or work or something I am the one who cooks dinner and cleans up and makes sure my brothers in by 9 and not roaming the streets but yet again he is hardly in either. most days he stays rounds his friends. soo my parents don't brother about me that I am home alone. sometimes I hate being on my own I get lonely and do stupid things to keep myself occupied but sometimes I love it and I don’t do silly things and when my family are here like all together it's great. so yeh I don't have a real relationship with my family and I don't want one. I like my life without them. :|

Both my parents died when i was three, i live with my older brother Tony and his girlfriend Paige.

I feel so terrible for youTrixie, and others who have lost parents through death. I couldnt imagine not having my parents around when growing up, even though I complain loads about them.

i get along pretty well with my parents. there was a time, about the time of the divorce, where things were a bit different, but that was mainly my own fault. i was 16, hormones, identity crisis...not an ideal time for one's family to be split up.

at any rate, things are grand and i'm all the better for having them around. i dread the time in my life when i'll have to bury them...

My parents are not that bad actually - for parents anyway. My mum is stricter than my dad, but even then she isnt too bad. She has been worse recently as I have been doing my exams, but I still manage to get away with going on the internet after i finish my exam each day (we come home between exams) so she is at work and i can play yay! (ok ok i know i should be revising - but what i dont know now, i will never learn in a few days)

so yes, they arn't too bad - and my dad is great - he is the one who hands out the money lol

I have a huuuuuuge feeling that my parents are getting back together, cuz i saw them flirt to each other last week, and mum is going on a date with dad tonight, even if she says that she has to discuss me and my bro with him and that it's not a date... it's a date, i know it, MWAHAHHAAA ^^

Geez, looking at some of these sad stories is making me sad! My parents are really awesome. They and I almost never argue, and when we do, its about little things that we can fix easily. My dad is really funny, but he's a little stricter than my mom. My mom is the one who mostly takes care of us- cooking, cleaning, taking us to school and bringing us back. My dad is a doctor, so he has to work most of the day, but when he's home, he's usually watching television or practicing his golf swing :D

So... yeah

I still say it was silly of you to mistake hot choolate for coffee. Ah well. Long as you're all right. Does anyone sometimes feel that it's easier to get along with other people's parents? Not that I don't get along with mine - I love 'em LOADS, but I just find it easier sometimes...

My dad's off to Hong Kong this afternoon... he was gone for almost half a year once. Given, it's three weeks this time... but anyway, I've gotten used to not having my parents around much. They were always at work when I was little and it was just me, my brother - who's never here anymore coz he's at uni - and grandma, who I hardly talk to... meh.

aw...I love my parents...and all my extended family is really like second, third, fourth, fifth etc parents too...

I call my parents' friends, auntie and uncle coz that is what they are...

Yeah it gets a bit tense when I get mollycoddled and over protected and banned from the computer and stuff but still...they're great!!!

I have a unique relationship with my parents. I love them dearly, of course. I'm close with my mother. My dad and I can joke around for hours or have a conversation about some technology or another. (But he can carry on a better conversation with my best friend cause she's a tech geek.) But there are things about me my parents don't like, and things they don't know that they wouldn't like. But I had my stage of rebelling against my parents in middle school. I respect them, and to a point, they respect me.

Lets see hers my analysis:

Mom- The best ever. She lets me have indpence and wants me to be free, yet at the same time sh wants to watch out for me. She understands me and loves me to death. Her and Dad got divoriced when i was 7.

Dad- I will say one thing and one thing only. The man doesn't even know my birthday.

Listen everyone; I had The Talk with my dad!

Thank you for your time, anyway, it was horrible... this was on tuesday, me think, but is now officially marked as the day when Caree got traumatized and very very very very very scared.

Mom-she's okay, most of the time. But she's a very strict Catholic and anti-internet talk person. She doesn't know about you guys. AT ALL. And she practically is going to have me excorsized to get rid of my like/interest with the world of Wicca.

Dad-meh, we're okay. Typically.

My mum watched her wedding vid last night and was crying... very weird but i stole her chocolate when she fell asleep so mwehh :D

you do not know how hard that word is for me to hear.
My parents died in a car crash when I was a baby so I have never met them. What makes the situation harder is that the only person who has been a true parent to me was my grandma but then she died whn I was 9. Now i'm living with a woman who calls herself a mother but isn't. She has said some things to me that no mother should ever say to their daughter and I feel no guilt when I say that I hate her. She treats me like dirt so I treat her like dirt. I just can't wait untill i'm old enough to move out of the house so I never have to speak to her ever again

oh chloe i am so sorry to hear that. it makes me feel luckier to have my parents. i think i take them for granted but hearing what you have been through i am going to try not to anymore

I lurve my parents. I really do. My mother is awesome. She is in her 50's because she had me late. Her first husband divorced her. *background history* After my Mom got divorced by her first husband she got pregnant with my Dad and they got married. Then they had my brother Mike! Then four years later (they weren't sure if the marriage would work) they had me. My Mom is simply put- amazing. She does like everything right. She is like.. wise. SHe lets me make my own decisions, and has trust in me, because she knows me. FOr my whole life I never have talked back to her, yelled at her, got grounded, or had any real argument with her. I may not always agree with her, but I don't fight with her, because she is probably right. She lets me and Mikey be ourselves. I love my mom is peices. She is like perfect. Although she does get frusterated with my Dad and fights with him... a lot.

Now my Dad.. he's kinda lazy. He works a lot, but he has no common sense! He just doesn't get it. He tells us how he wants to get healthy and sutff, and he complains when my Mom cooks something remotley fattening, but then the next day he'll go to Burger King. How does that make sense? He treats me and Mike totally different. He always gets angry at Mike for not doing chores and stuff and always bothers him, but barely ever gets angry with me. I constantly have to tell him that Mike is doing the best he can, and he barely has any free time anymore. Lcukily for Mike, my mom sticks up for him. Dad has no idea how much more favoritism he puts on me. I hate it too. SOmetimes i just wish he'd leave me alone ya know?

He and my mom get in fights about the stupidest things and my Dad is usually wrong. I love my dad but he just fursterates me. He constantly complains about everything, and he ramble son and on about stuff. If he could I bet he'd give me directions on how to do the dishes in five different languages. I try not to get angry with him, but sometimes I feel like yelling "I KNOW how to do this! You don't have to go OVER AND OVER about it! I'm not slow!" Oh, and he gets insulted very easily. He was insulted, because my very shy friend didn't say bye to him when he dropped us off.

So yeah I don't really look up to my Dad. I can't help it. I can't look up to a guy that complains that he's tired when my mom has been working all day and has to come home and cook, and clean up his mess. I don't mean to rant on him or anything. I know I'm very lucky to have my dad. It's just not only this but I usually only see him in the mronign and very alte at night so I dont get influenced by him too much. My mom talks to us more, and I talk to my brother more. My dad just... makes me frusterated. A lot. He just doesn't get it.

Is it so wrong to refuse to call your mom's bf dad??? I mean, i already have a da, i don't need another, and he's not a dad-material anyway.... still he wants me to call him dad! HELL NO, as long as i'm alive... *nods*

Tacey and Adam are the closest I have for parents and they're awesome! I love them to death! Sometimes, they get on my nerves and we get into arguements, but they're adults. You have to love 'em!

I miss my parents so much. I never knew them and all I have to remember them by is a photo. I heard that they were wonderful people from my grandma. I've heard the story so many times. I was with my grandma, they were on their way home from a concert when some drunk smashed into their car. I'll never stop loving them as long as I live.

I live with my dad and he is pretty cool. i get away with a lot of stuff. I dont really see my mum that often though she is ok i spose

An update for me is when dad got out of prison back in July I was really scared to see him. The past...well I can't talk about it...~shudders~

Anyway, we're okay now except I am still not sure I can live with him even though he is moving. I want to at one minute and then the next I still remember all he did to me and just...~shakes head~

My mom well she still hates me and for something that's not my fault...some of you know my situation so you know...it's not easy to talk about- especially with a lot of you who have families and parents that love you and care for you.~

Chloe, I'm sorry about yours and I can imagine it's really rough. My foster mom is okay at times and others I just want to run away. She's not a bad person but she's not my real mom.

I get bitter and angry when her realatives come around or they all get together cuz she's not my real mom and those people aren't my family they are HERS. And it hurts that ...~sniffles~ they are cuz I'd give anything to have my real parents love me and tell me they are happy that I'm here not calling me a curse and a mistake ove and over...so...yeah...

I lurve my parents.... my mom gets really embarressed easily, so my dad likes to tease her a lot... But they love each other. I have never ever seen them fight.

My dad teases everyone a lot... he calls me and Madd phat (yes, with a PH!) and he always pokes fun at my mom's tennis playing

I live with my mum and step dad though i still get on well with my dad even though i dont see him more than once or twice a month as he lives quite far away with his new wife.

I believe I had wonderful parents frowing up. Unfortunately I never got to really know as I would have liked. My mother died of lung cancer when I was turning thirteen. That was the worst day of my life and I never really mourned over it - I was 2nd oldest and had to younger siblings to help look after. I felt it my duty to be strong for them. The four of us lived with our father who workes in NYFD as a firefighter. Then tragedy struck again when I was fifteen. My father died when I was fifteen at the 9/11 attack. My older brother took care of us, but me and him butted heads alot and now we just have a real bad case of sibling rivalry. I don't see him anymore, but he was a good substitue parent regardless.
