Welcome to the maze, Selene!

You find yourself at the beginning of a huge maze composed of gigantic green hedges. Using your knowledge of spells, especially Charms, you must find a way out of this maze. Numerous obstacles will be presented to you and they need to be passed in order for you to move on through the maze. Tall leafy walls rise up on both sides of you. The sun shines brightly and there's nothing in sight... at the moment. Step into the maze and begin this adventure. Remember to role-play your actions, show your knowledge of spells and charms, and to be creative. Your first obstacle will follow your first post. There will be ten total challenges for you to complete before you're done.

Why am I here again?

Selene stepped into the maze. She jumped as a hedge rose up behind her. Her hands shook as she grabbed her wand. What was she going to use it for anyway? Thankfully she had read that huge book of spells in the Library, maybe that'll help. Or maybe she'll remember the tiny bit of Latin she knew.

"Ok, let's do this," Selene muttered and moved forward.

As Selene walks through the maze, she begins to hear a scuttling in the hedges. Before long, a spindly blue creature flits out of the leaves and latches onto her shoelace. Pretty soon, more and more pixies have come, scratching and biting at Selene's clothing and pulling at her hair. She needs to protect herself from them and get rid of them to move on.

"Cornish Pixies!" Selene exclaimed, then hurriedly turned away as one of the blue creatures threatened to fly into her mouth. The child shook her head and clumsily remembered some spells she had learnt and made up a few more from the latin she had learnt.

"Impedimenta," Selene shouted the first spell that came to mind and the pixies slowed down enough for her to use a binding spell. The girl winced as the pixies stuck together like glue when she said, "Necto." ((Bind))

The pixies currently unable to move, Selene conjured up a box big enough to fit them all inside, "Creo arca archa." ((Make box)) She lifted the bunch of pixies using Wingardium Leviosa and deposited them in the box.

The first-year got up to leave, but then paused and moved back to the box. "Creo cavus." ((Make holes)) That spell turned the top of the box into a fine mesh. WIth a last spell, "Scindo" ((separate)) the pixies flew apart.

Selene hurried down the path, awaiting her next task.

(I'll trust you with the Latin, don't speak it myself XD)

The pixies contained, Selene can freely move on. As she continues, the ground gets steadily wetter. It turns from grass to mud to water standing atop. The path continues without any offshoots, so she continues on as the water rises up to her ankles. All of a sudden, her foot drops down. The path has turned into a slim river, the bottom deep. Selene needs to figure out how to get out or make it go away in order to move on.

Selene thought quickly, trying to get out of the water. What can I do? Um... I can freeze the water! A bridge would have been to much, plus it was over the path.

"Gelo aqua."(((freeze water))) Selene tested her weight carefully, then cast the spell again to be safe. Every time she saw a patch of water as she walked, she'd perform the spell again. This happened several times.

The frozen path seemed to never end, but after some time Selene spied earth. "Thank you!" she exclaimed as she alighted on the ground. She soon recovered and went on her merry way.

You've passed your second challenge! Nicely done!

Selene continues on, and turns onto a corridor. As she walks down it, it shrinks, until the path has reached a point at the end. When she turns to go down the other way, the same thing happens. She will be stuck in this shrinking corridor unless she figures out a way to get out!
