Comeback and Apologies 2.0 - Updates/Annoucements

After a long, long, long, long break, HE is finally stirring and waking up. I'd like to truly thank the few who remained here even in these times of abandonment. Now it's only about, updating, implementing and gathering members.

First, the new term will begin Feb 21s, 2010th and instead of being just 6 months, HE terms will now be a truly full year. That means the term will end August 20th, 2011. The reason for this is because people don't have as much time as they did to dedicate themselves to HE on a daily basis, this will allow tournament,s rounds and challenges to be run longer.

A lot of staff is being casted and these changes will soon be announced.

Regarding Tournaments, here's how it's going to be. Every single tournament will be back but relax they won't be as demanding as before in the sense that sign-ups will no longer be needed and you won't have to do every round. How so? Let's take graphics tournament for example, 4 rounds will be opened and they will last a month or more, you can decide to do just one or all of the rounds. The next month those rounds entries will be put up to vote and new ones will be posted. This will be repeated until two months before the end of the HE year. By that time the two persons from each house with most points (whether have they done every round or not) will be allowed in the final rounds, remember two persons from each house even if two persons from one house have less points than the 3rd and 4th placed person of another house. This is to ensure that all houses have a chance to the final 4 spots. This new way of running the tournaments will allow you to escape from HE a couple of months now and then when your life is too chaotic with exams and whatnot but still when you comeback you'll be able to still participate. The exception to this will be main event and possibly one or two other tournaments but in the realm of the 13 tournaments we have they're a minority.

You may also be thinking, 4 final spots? Yes, from now on it's all about 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. If we have 4 houses it's only natural to have 4 final spots. This is to allow the possibility of at least one person per house in the final bonus points although it doesn't necessarily mean there'll be one from each house in the final, just that the possibility is there.

Tournaments will begin Feb 21st, but until then you may be thinking, then what can I do now until then? A new forum to celebrate the upcoming opening of the HP themed park was opened here in HE in the main event forum, go check all the challenges HERE!

All classes, exams and challenges are still open and all the points won so far will go on to the next term as well as the points you win until Feb21st.
