Animagus

Starting off with something easy. We all know what an Animagus- a person who can willing change themself from human to animal and back to human. In this essay, all you have to do is answer the two questions and include a picture.

Give the history of an animagus and name as many people who are animagus and include their animal.

The picture can be a person and their animagus form or just an animal.

This distinguishes an animagus from a wizard who has been transfigured into animal shape, as transfiguration appears to cause the wizard to have an animal brain. When an animagus registers with the Ministry, he or she must provide information about the animal form taken and its markings. Presumably this helps the Ministry track animagi to ensure that they are not engaging in illegal activity.

An Animagis (Plural form of Animagi) is a which or wizard that can willingly change into a certain animal. The proses of becoming the animal, isn't an easy one. It's very difficult and only experienced witches and wizards can do it. When turning into your animagi, things could go wrong.If that might happen,they are required to sigh up with the Ministry of Magic. Whatever the animal that the person turns into, reflects back on their nature.

Known Animagi are Remus Lupin Rita Skeeter, Minerva Magonigal, Peter Pettigrew, James Potter, and Sirrius Black.

An Angimangis is a wizard, usually with geat skill and power, with the ability to transform into a animal at will. Nomaly, the animal that they transform into is one that would compliment them.Known Anamig are menervia mcgonnal a tabby cat, Rita Skitter as a lady bug, Sirius Black as the Grim(padfoot), Peter pettagrew as a Rat(wortail), and James Potter as a stag(progs). Remus Lupin is not considered a anamangis because his transformation is not by will but due to the curse. The only regisered anamigi in that list was mcgonal. Sirius,james and wormtail became anagami to help remus during the transformation. Rita not doubt became one to be able to spy on people with out being spoted.

An Animagus is a witch or wizard who can morph into a certain animal at their will.
This skill is not one that magical folk are born with and the process of becoming and animagus is difficult, time consuming and potentially dangerous; which is why most wizards don't attempt it. However, once the skill is learnt it is with the witch/wizard for life and a wand isn't neccessarily needed to transform.
In a way, animagi are similar to a patronus and the house sorting in that the animal the animagus tranforms into cannot be chosen. It's determined only by their personality, in the same way a patronus takes the form of an animal that cannot be chosen and a student is sorted into whichever house suits them best. However, while patronus' can change with the witch/wizard's personality (proved by Tonks in HBP) the animal that an animagus morphs into cannot be changed.
Also, it seems that the witch/wizard can remain in the form of their animal for a very long time (In Peter Pettigrew's case, 12 years) and not be restricted to the said animal's life span, (as rats do not live nearly that long). However, many physical traits can be seen similarly in the animal and human form of the animagus, e.g. Rita Skita and Minerva Mcgonagall's glasses and Peter Pettigrew's balding head as well as his loss of a finger.
Legally, all animagi have to register themselves with the ministry but in actual fact not all do.
