Firstly, before anyone states the obvious, no, I haven't been on. School- blah, blah, blah. No one cares.

However, I have been popping on when I'm free, only to find that this place is DEAD. We used to be a committed group of people who were all friends... now, everyone's gone. Why? Well... there's nothing do. So, I'm demanding a take-over. I suggest that Rai should hand over his leadership to a more active member.

All who approve of this write below. Plus, a mention of the person you think should be our new King/Queen.

I agree i spend a lot of time on this site and i have noticed the same thing. not blame him i think he is doing a great job i just think maybe it's time to let someone else have a try but then again he could be working on stuff i have no clue about so ya i think we just need to come up with something as a site to help the site because it is looking a bit sad.

I agree with Pickles. I believe HE needs a "pick-me-up", someone who is both dedicated and active. What’s needed is someone who has good ideas and can bring the site out from underground. If I do say so myself, Stephy would make a fabulous Queen. She is already staff, like alice_lovegood_13 said, already familiar with how HE is run. Something needs to be done.

I, for one, think you all are being silly. First off, Rai does his best! Why are you guys blaming HIM when HE has been doing stuff to keep the site alive. You all should be ashamed of even thinking this is his fault. He is on everyday or when he can. He didnt tell you guys to leave, we all left on free will. What does Stephy being on all the time have anything to do with the activity of the site? That's right-nothing. I think before you guys start pointing fingers, you should remember, we all left only our own free will. Pickles, you left when Shadow did. Nixy left, Shadow left, Hannah. Chris, Elana, Lucy, and even ME. I admit it. But the fact that you think Rai should hand over a site that first off isnt even his, that's just stupid. Elfie handed Rai the site because she was busy. She wouldnt have done it if she knew he wouldnt be able to. I think Rai should keep the site because he is doing his best. And before you, Pickles, of all people think the site needs to be handed over, maybe you should become active yourself then you may have a say, but until then, I dont think you are required to make that decision.

I know the site has been kind of dead, but i think this is a bit drastic. If you look into the tournament parts there is a debate one, dueling one and even a game one open to participate in, Rai has put up several activities for people. I dont think its a lack of organisation of things to do that is the problem... i think is a lack of participants. Sure everyone gets busy and such and as you have pointed out not many people come online any more. Personally i try to pop in at least once a week or so because thats all the time i have and thats fine, but i think that members who havent been on in months to barge in and demand new leadership, well thats a bit out of line. If you want a more active site, BE MORE ACTIVE. If everyone stopped complaining that its dead and simply started a few chat threads or whatever for people to post it the place wouldnt be dead, so stop complaining and make the effort yourself.

Basically, i think if you dont like how things are being run here (or on any forum), feel free to leave. Dont try and take over.

I'm flatter guys that you're suggesting me to run the site but truth me told I'm just figuring out how to lock threads and move them around. I wouldn't have the capabilities to be able to run a whole site. I'm surprised Rai even left me mod two classes and Ravenclaw Common Room lol

As for Rai being kicked out of position I totally disagree with this. It takes a lot to run a site and Rai does have a life outside of HE. He does get on all of the time and he is coming up with plans for the site. After all look at whats going on now. There's a debate tournament (Etta's running it but it's still something) a Drabbles tournament and a game tournament. Oh and also the HE theme park thing going on. The site isn't active much because members are not posting everywhere. Without active members a site cannot be active. Look at the Great Hall, it's probably the most active formun on the site. Why? Because people are posting in there. It takes more than just an active head but you need an active head to keep an active site.

Instead of throwing Rai out of the picture I would suggest trying to get him more help. Instead of trying to find someone to take his place why not try to find other members who would like to be an Admin and help with Admin stuff. I wouldn't mind helping around the site but I don't want to take over.

Oh the cabinet is for people to store their stories they're working on at the moment. I don't think you need a cabinet if your just going to do challenges. Right now I'm writing a novel on Mass Effect and I'm using my cabinet to store my story in there until it's finished. I'll check out the site and see if you have to have a cabinet. Like I said before I don't think you do if you're just doing challanges.

I don't think Rai is to blame. Come to think of it, this site has generally been less active ever since the last book appeared and it's kinda logic that it happened so because the HP-mania lost some of its intensity at that point. Also, lots of the "oldies" became busy with uni/work/etc at about that time. Back then, there were lots of events open, but it looked (at least to me) like they were too many, so maybe people just gave up on trying to do everything.
Admittedly, ever since this site went quiet, there were periods of time when neither Rai nor any of the other mods were online, but it's understandable that they were busy and anyhow, it's a thing of the past.

But yeah, I wouldn't say a lack of admin interest is what's causing this site to be less active - even though I do agree with Stephy when she says that Rai would probably need some help. Thing is, I don't really see this site ever going back to how active it was in the "good ol' days", simply because the HP phenomenon is less strong. So maybe the thing to do would be to scale our expectations down a bit - at least until we start seeing a flood of new [active] members.

I'm all with Vi, Bella and Teff. I, myself, am also disappointed to see somebody ask for a turn-over whereas he hadn't been as active as well himself. I mean, how could you say that Rai's not doing his job whereas you're not here yourself? Plus, we do not all see what he is really doing whenever he's on. I have tried to run my own RP site, and it didn't work 'cause it demanded too much work from me, but look at Rai here, he even manage to sort new members whenever he had time. I have failed to do that on my site when I have started to have hectic schedules and all. This site is huge, you see, so obviously the site needs a really huge amount of time for everything to be handled well.

What I'm saying is, let him live his life 'cause he has to! Let's say yes, he has the responsibility to run this site and all, but it will not work just like that if we'll not hep him or be with him in doing so, like the three girls have already said. We are members of this site, it is US who completes it not just Rai. So, all the blame shouldn't be just for him. We all have neglected the site in our own little parts and with that it brought it this quietness it is now having. Yes, I also admit, I am also to blame.

And to think, the challenges, homeworks and all were always there, so there is no point where we should complain that nothing is happening at all cause there is. Only thing I could suggest though is to add a rule wherein members would be more into getting back again.

That all said, I am with the three hoping to see you guys active not just on one board but all over the site before you complain.

Firstly, it wasn't Rai who made those of you leave, you stopped taking part due to other commitments, you're not the only ones who have to balance school, work, friends and family and this site, so does many of the staff.

Secondly, if you want to blame Rai for your inability to take part in the opportunities he and others have created here, then fine, send me a pm and i will delete your account and you need not visit H.E anymore.

Thirdly, instead of criticizing and wanting Rai to step down why don't you pull your finger out and make a list of all the things you'd like to see on H.E, but honestly if you're not willing to take part then don't bother.

Fourthly, this is an online community, members need to be ACTIVE for it to have the same buzz as the old days and since the majority of the complainers here are just once-a-weekers popping in for 5 minutes, they don't see how hard we're working to keep H.E alive, you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes.

Look, its hard enough getting the staff together at the same time due to time differences, its mainly a case of catching each other on chats etc, but i can tell you that calling for Rai's removal is just childish, he is great as Headmaster, he knows what needs done, he, just like everyone else has an outside life as well. I can personally tell you how hard it is trying to get members to be active, i dunno about the rest of the Houses but Huffie is DEAD, i spend a good deal of time on H.E's Twitter and Facebook pages trying to drum up enthusiasm for the tournaments and classes and trying to get new members to join the site, its not easy, its far from easy but still i try, what can you say you do? Not a thing thats what.

Like the others have said, since the HP books finished, and the films are coming to a close, the site has gone quiet as members find new interests and have less time, i can't see how any of that can be Rai's fault or the fault of any of the staff.

In the end it simply boils down to you don't like it and won't help fix it, then leave. And to resist any temptation you may have of ever coming back we can ban your IP and delete your account, so if thats what you want then we will sadly do it. At the end of the day it's your call.

First and foremost I'd like to thank all of you who understand I do have a life and try my best, thank you for staying by my side. For those who don't know I work, I on the final year of my Master's Degree and I'm taking my Driver's License so excuse me for being a little to busy. A special thanks to Etta and stephy for watching my back and being watchful when I'm away.

Second, the forum is slowly stirring back into motion. Slowly, why? Because the last time there were too many tournaments open at once people thought they had too much work, I'm easing things, granting more points in tournaments and open the more easy ones first.

There are challenges, classes and exams always open so members have what to do. IF there is no current Main Event is because it'd be ridiculous to do one now with so few active players.

The right people know I'm always nagging them to do stuff and come back. It's always great to mention about how things aren't being done but the background work a forum like HE requires is more than people can understand, that's why we lasted 4 years and other forums just fail, Staff members need to be chosen carefully and not just cuz they are active or not.

Everyone who stays long in HE and actually develop themselves eventually stand out and get promotions but one must go easy on them. Also if you think I enjoy being HeadMaster you are wrong, but I have a sense of responsibility and I do love this forum above most things in my life. Those who know me know how much I love to earn points and how it pains to me to sometimes arrange stuff I can't participate. If I hadn't chose to step in HE would have been closed.

I always try my best to do new stuff and come up with good stuff, when the Quill was closed I had to create a forum and system from scratch to it, though it is still in early stages and probably more changes will arise later on.HE can't go on if the members aren't active, when more active members start doing stuff, more things will happen it's all tied up.

Again I thank the ones who supported me. It was amazing seeing your support and the sense of community that still exists! I believe HE will rise again, things are getting better. I truly believe that and I will only close this place if I'm the last one here standing.

Now excuse I have a big work to deliver Monday, I'll return then I do more "nothing"!

I signed up for the site a couple of days ago and posted to be sorted. I got a PM saying sortings were done on Thursday and Sunday evenings. After not being sorted still tonight (Friday) I looked back on the thread and see no one has been sorted since July 19th. That's almost a month. Would be new members are not going to stick around and wait that long to be put into a house. Would be active members are just gonna walk away and not come back.

If you want the site to be active again (I read this thread and have seen what the members have posted) you really need to pay attention to what people are saying and making sure new members stick around. Perhaps getting a few more people to help out? The site looks fun and I'm hoping it's not dying just when I'm finding it.

And just to make sure you're aware, you can still participate in all events, classes, competitons, ect ect. even if you haven't been sorted so there's still plenty of things to do even if you don't officially have a house! The points you earn will just be added in once you've been sorted. So what house you're in really doesn't affect the majority of the places you can post around the site. Anyway, my point is sorting should be done by Monday and for now you're free to start any events and classes you want. (:

isparkle, please be patient with Rai, he is extremely busy with an important work assignment which takes top priority atm. Come Monday Rai will sort you.

Bringing on more staff isn't the issue, even if we brought a bucket load of new staff in, the site would still be as it is since for example, the sorting is done by admin, that admin is Rai, so more staff not really a solution.

And to think about it, it could be worse, you could have no forum at all. Not that we're going to let that happen, even if it comes down to just me and Stephy having a reunion of pensieve writers in the Pensieve Tower while Rai gate crashes, HE will still be alive.

Okay, seriously? Anyone who has anything to say about the job that Rai is doing and his activity is pretty much just the pot calling the kettle black. If you don't do anything to help the situation, you've earned no right to complain. None at all. Yes, HE isn't as active as it once was but that's due to a number of things, including that we're all growing up. The site has been open for four years, we've all gained things that we have to do during that time. I know that as a seventeen year old about to go into my Senior year of high school, I've got a whole lot more on my plate than a thirteen year old about to be a Freshman. People have jobs and friends and families, we can't all be expected to have the abundance of free time to get to things right away. No one jumps other members because of these things, so why be unreasonable to the people in charge?

Rai has been rocking his job out, despite the fact that he's got a whole lot of stuff going on. If anyone could take over his job and last even a week, I'd like to see them try it. Go ahead, step up if you're so intent on getting a new leader. But I can assure you that things would not go as smoothly as they do now. For instance, I wouldn't have agreed to doing what I am had it not been for Rai who came to me and asked. I agreed because I happen to have a sense of loyalty to him (and cause he's pretty cool when he wants to be). I can tell you straight up, that without him I wouldn't want to stick around. And with the sure to be mess that would occur from getting someone new, I'm sure that I wouldn't be the only one thinking that way.

If you've got a real problem with something that he's doing, how about you talk to him about it instead of posting something for everyone to see? If someone has a problem with what I'm doing, I'd rather they talk to me, not about me. You want to make things better? Make suggestions. Get involved. Be grateful for everything that is done to keep this place alive. Be an active member, not a bystander. Maybe if you do all that and still find things unsatisfactory, someone might actually listen to you.

I think if the complainers really care about H.E they'd step up to the plate and offer suggestions, even if you don't think its good someone could used your idea to make it even better.

The site is always and will be a group thing, so why not include yourself in the group instead of distancing yourself? More than one mind working on a idea can make the site even better.
