Christmas RPG Party

(Lake)

Out by the lake, Elladora was kneeling down making a wall of snow in front of her. She hadn't prepared for the snow to be quite this cold. She had dressed in slightly heavier clothes, with boots, a scarf, her favourite midnight blue traveling cloak, and a Christmas hat. She knew that Father Christmas was a Muggle thing, but she loved the feeling it gave her. Also, it kept her ears warm. Thankful, she had put on mittens this morning, she began making a bunch of snowballs. After nearly thirty minutes, her hands began getting a little numb, so she decided to walk to the Great Hall where she could warm up.

She began walking to the Great Hall, hoping that no one would try to steal her pre-made snowballs.

(on the staircases)

Mel gripped onto the railing as the staircase began to move. She would never get used to that, no matter how many times she walked them. They were, in fact, her least favourite way to travel through the castle, but there was little she could do when she had to ascend the levels.

The staircase shuddered to a halt, and Mel found herself leaning over the railing, precariously close to falling off completely. She stared down at the entrance hall, six floors below, with wide eyes.

"Oh my!" she exclaimed, and immediately flopped backwards. She crashed onto the floor with a thud. "Ow."

Rubbing at her new bruise, Mel contiuned her way up the staircase. She could feel the corner of her letter digging into her chest from where it was stowed away in her robes. She was on her way to the Owlery to send a letter home. It was early yet, and the message was one intended for Christmas day, but with the distance the owl would need to go, it would get there just on time.

She smiled and patted the letter through her clothes. She liked knowing everything was organised, especially when she was so rarely organised.

Mel skipped up the next stair.

(Slytherin Common Room)

Violet hummed softly, twirling around the Slytherin common room. It was Christmas time, one of the best times of the year, depending on the person. “La…dada te da!” she sang, putting her wand into her pocket before twirling around once more before opening the common room door. “Oh…Christmas time…it’s so fine…lalalala!” she sang once more, skipping down the hall. It was different this year. Before, she never cared about Christmas, but now, she felt like singing and dancing, which was exactly what she was doing. Violet pulled at the strap on her shoulder, making sure her bag still felt heavy. She had a few presents she wanted to exchange and decided if anything, everyone would be in the Great Hall.

“OH!!! It’s Christmas! Grab a lover and do a dance….!” she sang, giggling as she did. She got some odd stares, but she smiled at them, letting her skipping stop, only to be replaced by ballet moves. “Stephy…I gotta find her….oh! And katers!” Violet shouted, running towards the Great Hall.

Hogwarts grounds

"Wheeee!" yelled Ellen as she sleded down the hill. The piece of rusted metal she was sliding on was part of an old cauldron but it worked perfectly. Most people were in doors trying to stay warm but Ellen was used to this type of cold, her house was 100 maybe 200 miles away.

Faster and faster she sled down the hill, faster than anyone else had until-
Ellen had not noticed the the tree. Not until her face went slap bang into it.

(The Great Hall)

Katie entered the Great Hall, carrying a bag weighed down with presents for others. She couldn't quite figure out how to do that Undetectable Extension Charm Stephy had told her about a while ago. Taking a seat at the Hufflepuff table, Katie helped herself to some steaming cinnamon rolls while admiring the Christmas decorations. That was always her favorite part. The enchanted ceiling was white and cloudy and snowflakes fell down into the hall. Garland was streamed around the room and the traditional giant trees were all in place.

Katie looked around for people she needed to give presents to, searching the halls for Stephy, Melly and Vi.

"Oh! And maybe something for Rai too!" she thought to herself, still scanning the house tables for the giftees.

Knowing that she was up early, Katie decided to finish her breakfast and wait around for her friends to come in. They were bound to show up in the Great Hall sometime!

(The staircases... again.)

Mel pranced - yes, pranced - down the staircases, despite her earlier misgivings. She was in an absolutely joyous mood! She had sent her letter - the owl had taken the letter from her reluctantly, sensing the distance it would have to travel (it would miss Christmas with its family because of her, but she rewarded him well with treats and promised a fun time in Australia).

Her only chore for the month done, Mel was feeling light as air as she skipped (she got bored of prancing) down the stairs.

She was feeling the need for waffles, so she directed her direction (it can be done) to the Great Hall, where Waffles in Perpetual Existance existed (it was true) for her to eat!

Also, it was breakfast! Most important time of the day!

She burst through the doors to the Great Hall, and stood there a moment so that anyone inside may pause to admire her aura of awesome.

Go on, you know you want to.

Great Hall

Ellen pressed a snowball to her head to sooth the pain. Great! a big purple bruise on her forehead for christmas. Last year she had a coldsore and the year before a cat scratch on her cheek. Its okay when your mum doesn't take a picture a second to show to everyone down to the window cleaner! It was going to be a long christmas. At least it was fun at school. She had filled her bag withpresents for her friends that she was going to hand out, it was what everyone else was doing but oh dear she had left it down in the common room.

Katie glanced up from her meal to see Mel prancing into the hall. Smiling to herself, Katie weaved her way through the tables to approach her, dragging her overstuffed bag along with her.

"Melly!" Katie called when she came into earshot. "I've got a present for you!"

Katie reached down into her bag, digging around for Melly's present. Where is it?? she thought to herself, pulling other presents out of the way in a frenzy.

Finally, Katie pulled out a long, thin, box shaped package wrapped in red and green wrapping paper with snowmen who moved around.

"Here ya go! I think you're gonna like it!"

Katie smiled to herself, thinking of the huge, mega-sized magical wordsearch that lay inside; each time it was solved it would create another huge wordsearch to come after it.

I hope she likes it! Katie thought to herself.

(GREAT HALL)

"A PRESENT YOU SAY!?" Mel announced. She accepted the gift, and held it in her hands like it was made of the finest china, and a spotlight fell on her. She looked up, and there were angels singing in rapture. This was a moment.

She noticed the moving snowmen.

And snorted.

"OSSUM!" She squealed. She ripped the paper open and opened the box with shaking hands.

The gift was revealed.

It was... the best gift EVER.

Tears of joy in her eyes, Mel gathered Katie in a giant GLOMP and jumped up and down, still clutching Katie.

"OMGOMGOMG," she prattled. "YOU ARE AWESOME I LOVE YOUUUUU."

Mel stowed her super special awesome pressie in her recently vacated pocket, and smiled at Katie.

There was a pause.

"Oh yes, I have something for you too!" Mel said, awkwardly. She felt a sweat beading her brow. "I er - left it in... my shoe... upstairs... in my office."

There was a longer pause.

"I'll just go get it then!"

She zoomed outta there.

Ellen kew her frieds would love the presents, she was giving each of them a glass bauble with an animal in it. Everyone had their favourate animal in it. She noticed someone walking towards her but couldn't see who it was.

(Great Hall)
Elladora entered Hogwarts Castle, but before entering the Great Hall, she turned left and found the messenger bag she had hidden there earlier that morning. She picked it up, and put it under her cloak, but over her shoulder, which ended up being much more difficult than she expected it to be. After managing to complete her task, she turned around and entered the Great Hall.

As the doors opened, the many breakfast smells completely washed over her. Elladora took a deep breath and then began looking around to find people to give gifts for. To be safe, and make sure nobody recieved a gift meant for someone else (which she had done several times earlier), she decided to get everyone the same present this year: a large stocking stuffed with Honeydukes chocolates, candies, and a penguin plushie.

The first person Elladora noticed in the Great Hall was Ellen.

"Ellen!" she called. "I have a gift for you!!" She began simultaneously walking over and trying to find the gift buried in her bag. After a while, she realized that she was still wearing mittens and removed them before properly extracting Ellen's stocking.

"Thank you so much!!" said Ellen as Elladora gave her a stocking. She wasn't going to look at it until Christmas day, it was better like that.

Oh my goodness!! Thought Ellen, she had forgotten to send pressents to her family. She dumped her bag at the Hufflepuff table and run up to the owlery.

(Great Hall)

Elladora smiled and let out a giggle as Ellen ran off. She understood the mass chaos Christmas could bring. Last minute presents were always on the minds of students sending things home and to friends about the world.

Elladora skipped over to the Ravenclaw Table. And sat down. She was waiting for her owl to come, so she could send Christmas presents home to her family. Meanwhile she looked around.

Her fellow Ravenclaws were no where in sight. Elladora knew it would't be long until the Hall was flooded with students, but she assumed everyone would be enjoying time to sleep in. (Or possibly study, but no one wants to do that.)

(Hallway)

Violet skipped down the hallway, humming mostly to herself. She had totally gotten lost, but she refrained from trying to find help. She felt like a Luna Lovegood and she was all smiles. She pulled her wand out, making rainbow sparkles appear out of the tip of it.

"FALALALALALA!!!" She sang as she pushed the door to the great hall open.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS! Now give me presents." She said, skipping towards the first person she saw.


(I got lost, so I just wrote and hoped XD)

(Great Hall)

"Oh...gimme!" She shouted, smiling. She had a look of 'oh' and 'awe' on her face as she shook the snowglobe. It didnt click in her mind until she realized she had to give someone a gift also.

"Here!" she said, pulling at a scarf. It was a mood scarf and it would tell when someone was happy or mad or sad or any emotion. It also had cool designs on it that danced around when happy, mumbled rudely when made, cried with sad, and so on and so forth. She shook the snowglobe again, completely distractedd.

(somewhere between her Office and the Great Hall - so really she could be anywhere in the castle)

Mel commando rolled across the floor. She sneaked her way through the secret passage behind the tapestry of the reindeer eating Santa's pants, and tip toed past two statues deep in a silent argument.

She could feel the slight weight of the santa sack in her pocket weighing her down on one side. Yes, she had shrunk it. Yes, it had weightlessness charms on it. So it was weighing her down with... christmas spirit! Yes! (phew).

She slid down the railing of the next stairway she came across, and head butted the wall on her way down.

"I'm so late! So very very late!" she exclaimed, sitting up, one hand to her new bruise. "So little to do, and so much time! Wait. Strike that, reverse it. Yep."

She ran around in a few circles, and then dashed off down the third floor corridor.

(Great Hall)

Elladora turned when Violet entered the Great Hall and attempted to swallow her food without chewing it completely. Bad idea. By the time she finished swallowing, Samantha had turned up and the two had exchanged gifts.

Elladora now rifled through her messenger bag, pulling out two large stockings stuffed with chocolates candies, and a penguin plushie.

"Merry Christmas!!" Elladora called to both the girls, and handed them each a stocking. "And may you avoid the nargles of the mistletoe," she added, remembering an article she read in The Quibbler earlier this month.

The Owlery

After summoning the presents for her family she found two rather reluctant school owls to carry the parcels. "Come on its not far" I said to them, "not even out of the country a three hour trip" I strapped a feed me label on each owl, they would be glad of a snack after their journey.

(the antechamber outside the Great Hall)

Mel lay on the floor, nearly knocked out by the force of her weight hitting the closed double doors of the Hall. Who closed those doors!? She would make them pay... her compensation for her hospital bill!

Groaning, she flopped over onto her belly and slithered across the floor. She tapped on it with her tai- um, foot. And waited to be allowed entrance.

She couldn't wait to see the look on everyone's face when the saw her awesome presents for them! They sure were something great.

Mel passed the time, thinking about the joy she would spread as she waited.

(Great Hall)

"Oh my, thank you so much Sam!" Mel jumped up onto one foot and hopped fully into the Great Hall. There she cast her eye about the hall and saw all her buddies - opening presents and exchanging well wishes... it was ever so heart warming!

She looked at her snow globe, and shook it so that the fake snow fell on the miniature city trapped within. Inside the glass was the clear image of ancient rome.

"Oh wow!" she exclaimed. "This is fantastic!"

She huggled Sam in thanks, and stowed her globe away safely for later perusal.

Stephy was standing not too far away, but Mel saw that there were other people between them, so she decided to start at the centre, make a circle around the perimeter, and then finish at the beginning.

With a flourish she took out her santa sack. It dangled from one finger for a moment (oooh sparkly! she thought) before it expanded and got suddenly heavy all at once.

"Darn temporary charms!" Mel muttered as the weight of her presents unbalanced her. She was propelled forward, and slammed onto the foor face-first. "I seem to be doing this a lot..."

Undeterred, Mel stood up and hopped over to her first victi - err, gift receiving person.

"KATIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HERE'S YOUR PRESENT! IT'S A LIFE SUPPLY OF MASH POTATOES AND MOUNTAIN DEW."

Great Hall

Over at the Hufflepuff table Ellen grabbed her bag again. Looking for more people. "Stephy!" she said walking over to her heres a present for you. Handing the bauble I had wrapped in powder blue tissue paper.

"Thanks" said Ellen to Stephy, "I wish I had this last week when my last quill myterily vanished." She was sure Stephy was laughing inside. Everyone remembered how she had tryed transfiguring a spinter of wood into a quill, lets just say it was to sharp where it shouldn't be!

*Hallway*

"(sigh) It's really cold in here. Finally, I can feel Christmas now." Antoinette said while walking. "Oh yeah! Christmas, I guess I need to give this present to somebody, but I wonder who?". She ran and finally reached the Great Hall, where she saw tons of student chatting and exchanging gifts to each other. "Wow!" She exclaimed because of what she saw. "Now, the only thing I need to do is.... find someone who'll accept my present" And then, when she turned around, she saw someone standing near beside the Hufflepuff table. She approached her and tap her shoulder "Hello! I'm Antoinette, nice to meet you, here's a random gift for you :] It's Christmas, and I just feel giving presents to anybody. I hope you'll like it :]"

(The Great Hall)

Katie watched Melly fall to ground with concern before bursting out into giggles as she dragged herself off the floor. As Melly walked towards Katie, she became steadily more excited as she saw a present in Melly's hands.

Upon finding out that the present held a lifetime supply of mashed potatoes and Mountain Dew, Katie threw her big sack of presents onto the ground, leaping on top of Melly to give her lots of hugs.

Holding the package close to her, Katie ran back to her table and opened it, and began chowing down on the potatoes and drinking lots of Mountain Dew. She could feel the hyperness brought on by the sugar entering her system all ready.

When she finally finished, Katie leapt up from the table and began running around Melly in excited circles, thanking her again for the wonderful gift become running out of the Great Hall and into the corridors, singing Christmas Carols at the top of her lungs and laughing as people leapt out of her way.

(Great Hall)

Mel turned to Rai at the Staff Table (her turning had a similar feel to how a creepy clown doll moves itself in scary movies) and smiled.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii Rai!" she said. She moved her chair closer. "I got this pretty present for you. It's a picture of how I shall look when Gryffindor wins the House Cup (hint: I'll be triumphant!). I framed it in a red and gold frame too, 'cause I knew you'd like it best that way. ENJOY IT RAI!"

She handed her present to him and watched him with wide eyes. She was waiting for the moment when his shield charm would waver, and she could cut in for a good Christmas hug!
