Confusing the Confused

Leighton walked across the fields looking around. She had no clue what was going on and after this winter and the events that had taken place she didn't know what to do anymore. It was as if death had been following her and just waiting for the right moment. She hadn't gotten sleep in ages and looked paranoid as she glance over her shoulder ever few steps. She finally settled her back to a tree her scarf covering scars that slid down her neck. Her eye lids started falling over her gray eyes but she soon shook it off and regained consciousness looking around her surroundings. She had always been a bit shy due to past events but she had never been this odd she always was able to at least appear normal to others but now she knew she looked like a complete idiot.

"Calm down calm down... relaxed nothing is going to happen." Leighton told herself in a hushed tone hoping no one heard her talk to herself.

While walking in the hallway, Mary Lynn saw Leighton in the grounds. She looks pale and really tired, but Mary Lynn ignored her and just continue walking and ignoring people like no one is around. Mary Lynn is the old friend of Leighton, which they've been in a strong misunderstanding, 2 years ago. "She's always like that, *sigh* But why do I worry about her so much? She's not my friend anymore." Mary Lynn said while walking towards their classroom. They're not talking to each other for 2 years and because of that she's more like a loner than a cheerful Mary Lynn before. Her blue eyes were full of loneliness and sorrow. Mary Lynn was abandoned by her parents when she was 3 years old and when she met Leighton, she felt like she's not alone and treated her almost like a sister.

Leighton ventured into the castle she figured if she could manage to shove some food down her throat maybe she could relax a little bit. Getting up and leaving her spot under a tree she started wondering through the halls not keeping track of where she was going only hoping that she reached her destination. She (not paying attention to where she was going) ran into Mary Lynn. They had, had a falling out between the two of them a while back but it seemed so distant now that she couldn't recall the purpose of the squabbling. She intended on saying nothing, nothing at all but as she went to apologize words flowed out unable to control them as if they spewed out like vomit.

"I need your help." slipped from between her lips and she tried to catch them but it was too late the words had been said and they wondered around the air aimlessly until they would eventually catch her ear. Her faced shared an expression of shock and desperation as she only wished she could catch the words and swallow them back. Her eyes shifted from her surroundings to her former friend and decided if she couldn't take her words back and she couldn't explain the best thing was to walk away. She limply walked into the great hall sitting down at the end of the hall where there was no one around grabbing a cup. Her throat was numb and she felt faint headed.

'Low blood sugar" she mumbled taking a sip of who knows what ending up chugging the entire glass reliving some of the feeling that distressed her. She looked around the room. It was bare and near emptiness. a few couples and small groups of friends filled seats but nothing to exciting was happening so she continued to sit there trying to extinguish the throbbing from her head against her ear drums. kids will be filling in soon I should leave. Leighton thought her goal in life was to avoid people and participating in the food rush was not an intelligent way of succeeding in this.

Mary Lynn was shocked of what Leighton acted. Then after Leighton left, she said "What's wrong with her?" with a voice trying to sound so brave and doesn't care to anyone. She was still shocked until she reached the great hall where she saw many people sitting on their House Tables. Her eyes were widen when she saw all of the students was staring at her and gossiping to each other "Who is she?" "Why does she look crazy?" "What's wrong with her?". After what she saw, she ran away and went to her room. She lay down on her bed and her sparkling tears began to fall down on her cheeks. "I know this is not what I want, but why?" she thought to herself. She began to realize that losing ones friend isn't really good for everyone. Even though she wants to bring back their old friendship, something inside of her that she can't even explain still trying to block what she really want to happen. She doesn't have any friends or old friends that is originally from Hogwarts, except for Leighton.

(I don't know what I'm doing And this sounds like a very sad and very dramatic rp, for me)

Leighton looked up from her fingers as a voice welcoming and kind asked her if she could sit next to her. she hated this she hated being a spectacle for others how she manage to get everyone in school to know her as oh that one girl and how she couldn't change it. So many people knew her but no one cared they either acted like a human being with morals or just made faces as she walked by.

"Oh um ya go for It." she said hardly focusing her view. She had noticed that Mary Lynn had walked in only to leave how stupid she felt after what she had blurted out not that it was a good thing only that she didn't want to deal with her at the moment. Leighton felt her ears heat up and realized she must have been blushing which would only make this all worse.

"Sorry dear thanks for sitting with me but..." she paused unable to come up with an excuse to leave "I um..." she meant to get up but didn't she froze just as before and only hoped words didn't slip like they seemed to controlling her motions.

"Listen I have issues beyond silly high school drama I doubt you really want to sit next to a crazy psychopath under stress." slid out and she quickly bit her lip covering her mouth with her hand. She seemed like a crazy person now blurting out things she didn't even think or want to say. It had become a nervous habit and wished to eliminate it.

Leighton sighed did she really want to mend this and if she did was it genuine or was it merely out of pity for the poor girl. She had been fine up until this moment until she saw her face and realized how important she was to her. Plus obviously her subconscious wanted her to because before she could think she stood up grabbed her bag slung it over her shoulder and went to walk with the girl.

"You better come I’m not the best at well fixing things real good at breaking them apparently though." she stated even though she had no clue who this girl was but as always they knew her so clearly she couldn't ask for an introduction because then it would appear that she didn't know everyone who knew her which was a idiotic reason not to ask but whatever kept her quite would work.

"And don't try to sugar coat it she doesn't need me back in her life I’m sure she would do fine without me but like you stated it couldn't hurt could it?" Leighton added she was in a rather pessimistic mood this evening when usually she was optimistic she supposed it was because she hadn't ate or slept at all today and was about to pass out by the feeling but life isn't that easy. She had a habit of getting to a point of exhaustion where she should pass out only she was too strong to curious and like always her subconscious wouldn't let her so she learned to live in this unhealthy state and when she was healthy and got sleep she felt like she could do anything which she couldn't and was usually what caused her exhaustion.

Without other people noticing, Mary Lynn came back from her short vacation in London. Her auntie talked to her concerning her studies. "*sigh* It wasn't really good to be with Auntie. Maybe I should refresh myself first". While taking some walk, someone approached her which Mary Lynn didn't even know the name of that girl. "Hey! Are you Mary Lynn? They're both looking for you" the girl said, then Mary Lynn replied "What? Who?" her face was really surprised of what that girl have said to her. "You mean? You don't know anything?" the girl answered her. "Uh, sorry but I don't know what you're talking about" Mary Lynn told the girl as fast as she can and hurriedly ran out of the sight of that girl. Quite tired from running away, Mary Lynn stayed at a place on their school where nobody else is with her. "Whew! At last, I'm alone. Nobody will ever talk to me anymore, I'm safe in here" she told herself. Not far from where she's sitting, she sighted Leighton together with Helena. Mary Lynn wondered why did Helena befriended Leighton. "I think that's what they're talking about. Leighton and Helena are looking for me. *sigh* I should ignore them. I don't even have a face to show to Leighton" Mary Lynn said while her face is almost full of sweat. She don't trust herself anymore and even herself, she don't know what's happening to her.

"It's a bit more complicated than that." Leighton stated a sudden rush of memories flooding over her mind. Images thoughts all at once they seemed to come as she remembered the very thing that caused this. It wasn't merely a simple matter of going out with a friends ex it was defiantly more than just that. Now that she thought back to it she realized how all the rumors all the stories from everyone else had corrupted her memory to think that it was a simple argument and they both just held grudges. Her palms sweat as she wondered the reaction the conflict if anything was going to happen she wondered what she would do. First things first she had to figure out where she was.

"She left me... when I needed her the most and that was the starting of it... it's a bit more detailed then that but id don’t really want to get into it." She stated biting her lip as her emotions rose from sadness to anger and resentment.

When she wanted to be alone where did she go? Leighton asked herself when she swiftly remembered the one spot she often found Mary Lynn sitting to get away. She grabbed Helena’s wrist and started to drag her along her feet pounding against the hard tiled floor beneath her ballet shoes she was odd in this sense she never bothered to change in and out of dance shoes always wearing them thought they were not meant for walking in.

"I think I have a clue as to where she is." she explained as if it would excused her off and rash behavior but she knew that she was not acting like a proper lady and for once didn't care to overwhelmed with her thoughts to pay attention to her manors.

Mary Lynn is finally tired of walking and running away from people. She finally realized that the real world is over her, watching her and feeling what she feels. "I'm not good at hiding." she said with a smile on her face, at last she smiled. She walk through the girls bathroom and stare at her face in the mirror for a second. "I have a face? I can talk? I can act? I have mind? But why do I hide myself in the dark and in sorrow?" she thought to herself and then she slap her face "*slap!* Wake up Mary Lynn!" as she strike her face with her bare hands "Ouch!" she exclaimed. After few seconds, she came out of the bathroom and finally showed her face to the public. All students that she's passing by were shocked because it's the first time that they saw Mary Lynn talking to other people, smiling, saying "Hi and Hello's" to the students. "Wow! She changed a lot. But why so fast?" a guy said while seeing Mary Lynn smiling at him. "She's crazy, that's it" said the another guy. "I know I can do it." Mary Lynn said with all confidence. She's trying to cope up with other students, but some are still trying to keep away from her since they're thinking that Mary Lynn is crazy. Days passed, student aren't still believing on what they are seeing everyday. Mary Lynn is very active, happy and very far from the old her. But students are still throwing rumors and criticism at her. Finally, Mary Lynn was full of it. While having an assembly, she stood up her sit and have guts to tell to the students her feelings. The pain and anger flowed in the place while she's talking in front. "All of you aren't the presidents? All of you aren't my parents? Why do you always have the right to throw rumors to anyone you want to mess with? I know I changed, but is there any problem? I want to change the old me, the old Mary Lynn you're making fun with the old Mary Lynn who doesn't have face to show to anyone. I can stand on my own now, you should not judge me. You all don't have the right to do it. I may look insane, yes? But it's just me and you can never change me!" her voice strike aloud as all the students are left shocked. "*sigh* I can't take all what they're doing, I am also a human who have my own feelings." she said after walking away from the place. After the scene, she saw Leighton and Helena on the grounds, still isn't tired of finding her for the past days she's not appearing to the people. Finally, she (Mary Lynn) quite shy, she approached the two and finally said "Hello" to them.

Leighton was stunned frozen in her footstep as she saw Mary Lynn half expecting her to turn and run away she was surprise to find that she came up to them. She through knotted and her stomach added to the tangle mess she felt herself in. Her jaw relaxed and fell open but no noise came out. She closed her mouth remembering what her parents used to tell her. don’t stand with your mouth open like that your face will stick and then where would you be? it frightened her as a child but as she grew older she realized why she really shouldn't have her mouth hang open. She bit her lip and gathered the strength to say something.

"Mary Lynn..." she stated shaking her head as she froze once again unsure of what to do. Her anger increased and she suddenly felt like screaming just yelling nothing in particular just scream to get her emotions out.

"You... you just." she took a deep sigh not knowing what to say. She looked happy she didn't need her Leighton was not needed in this relationship so why was she talking to her. She could live without her she has been for two years why does she need her now?

"Why? you knew they were coming... and you just left!" she stated she could feel pain and wasn’t sure what it was as if something or someone had just poked her heart a thousand times with a fire picker. A tear streamed down her porcelain face like a foreign being it didn’t belong there something odd and strange to her. She whipped it away before it fell down her neck but more fell softly like angels from the sky. They glided like ballerinas across her pale fragile frame and caught on her lip staying put before they dripped onto the floor.

Helena followed Leighton wondering where Mary Lynn could possibly be. However it turned out that Mary Lynn was now coming to them. She must have stopped avoiding them or Leighton knew Mary Lynn would be here. Either way they had found Mary Lynn and was finally able to speak to her. Helena knew there would be some tension between the two former friends but she hoped that after come talking they would overcome it and once again be friends. However Helena knew she could be hoping for too much. She would just have to wait, see how things went and butt in when she thought it was needed.

Mary Lynn said hello to them which Helena was glad to see that she was now willing to at least talk to Leighton. Leighton's reaction however was a more hurtful response. Helena remained quiet and still. Not only did she not want to interrupt but she didn't know what to say at the moment.

"I don't want to.. see you like that" Mary Lynn said after she saw Leighton's tears are falling down on her porcelain face. She didn't expect a reaction like that especially from Leighton whom she knew one of the bravest girl she ever met. "You shouldn't cry, Leighton" her angelic voice filled the ears of Leighton while saying those words. She saw Helena standing near them and said "Helena.. Would you take care Leighton for me?" she said with close fists. Her head bowed down as if she's regretting something. "I should go now. I didn't mean to do this but my heart just feels something that I should do this to be able to stitch the wounds we accidentally made to each other." Mary Lynn said with her eyes full of tears. She wiped Leighton's tears with a handkerchief and said "I guess this will help. Here take this" she handed the pink handkerchief to Leighton. "You should keep it. And if you want to talk to me and you're ready just drop by my room and leave it there, I'll be glad if someday it will happen." She smiled and then left Leighton together with Helena. While walking, Mary Lynn can't hold enough her feelings. She's angry, she's happy and she doesn't know what to do. Her feelings just flowed together with the tears coming out her eyes. "What.......happened? *sniff*". Her tears isn't stopping until she reached her room and finally lay down to her bed while crying and thinking that Leighton hates her so much. "I didn't mean anything. Why does she hate me so much" she said and after a few seconds she began to scream and thought that it's the only way to express herself. She screamed and screamed until her voice is finally tired. She's still crying until sleep finally caught her.

Leighton stood there for a moment shocked and stunned as she walked away. She looked at the handkerchief in her hand and finally as she was able to fathom words she threw it on the ground.

"Can you believe her? With all that poetic UGH! Will you take care of Leighton for me?" she mocked her angry and annoyed she couldn't believe what a spineless wimp Mary Lynn had become and she understood why she left her when she needed her. She couldn't face anything always running always trying to get away never facing her problems. Leighton fiercely picked up the handkerchief and sprinted up to Mary Lynn's room. Angry and bitter she banged on the door.

"Open up!" she screamed until her patience wore thin. She backed up and in one swift movement kicked the door of its hinges but before she could form a sentence she froze seeing a shocking scene revealed in front of her. Her eyes grew as big as dinner plates and her mouth hung open. She might have been imagining things but if she wasn't they were both in big trouble.
