A message sent from the flames?

When dumbledore's body is set on fire and white flames emerge harry saw a faint image of a phoenix mixed in with the white smoke. I don't think Dumbledore is dead I think he was "appearing" to be deadand sent off a patronus during his funeral...but the question is, if he sent a message to someone, who did he send it to? I believe that he wants the world to believe he's dead so that Harry and the world beleive that he alone has to face Voldemort, but with Dumbledore dead, the wizard Voldemort feared most is dead, and therefore his guard will be down...and I think that's exactly what Dumbledore wants. So if this is true, then who would he have sent the message to, who would he have trusted enough? Harry, Snape, his brother? im not sure

he trusted Mcgonagall a lot so mabey it was for her as he would have told her what was happening wouldent he but she was crying a lot at the funerall so that sugests that she didnt know. he couldent send it to snape as he wasent there i think t was for harry and harry has to figure this all out.and when harry defeats voldemort then dumbledore will come back.

Hmm, i like the theory that Dumbledore sent a message out, but i dont think it would have been to snape, harry or McGonagall. We have to look closer at the details which JKR has already given us, the clues and hints.

We know that a charector who we have met several times already yet not been introduced to will play a large part in the final book. Personally i believe that this will be Aberforth, Dumbledores brother, if any messgae was sent out, it woud have been directed at him, for they are brothers and did work along side each other in the last war.

There are many things which we are only just connecting from preveius books to book 6, i think we all need to take a step back from the books and thinking to hard and finally let the clues and answers come to us. I think, there is more in book 6 then we know about, more clues for us to suddenly stop and think, wow thats strange. Take book 5 and snapes memory, how we felt sorry for him, now take his killing our frav, in the words of Peeves, ProfesserHead, and we hate him (well i dont but some do). There is more between those two books, which we are yet to realise. Perhaps the clue to the messgae and whether ProfesserHead is dead, lies in a previous book.

i think whom ever the dude who sent the note at the goblet might know about dumbledore but that's my theory

I don't think it was a message. I think Dumbledore is really really dead. I think maybe it was just Fawkes being all...Fawksey? I don't know anymore...

A very interesting theory and I think Etta has a good point with Aberforth. I so think that dumbledore is dead though. JK mentioned as much, but it could be a message of something

I wonder if Dumbledore's patronus was a phoenix and when a wizard dies their patronus form is maybe released. Maybe as a way to ward off evil spirits or to set the form free to be taken up by another wizard.

I think, sadly, Dumbledore is dead. Harry saw his portrait hanging in the Headmaster's office.

I am with Katiebelle on this. To our dismay Dumbledore is dead. And i believe that Jk Rowling said so specifically as i read in an interview, that the man is dead and not coming back. there you go.
plus i agree that dumbledore had to die cuz it is the only was voldemort would come out from cover and i believe that why snape killed him as well, it might have been dumbledore wish.

Dumbledore died, you can't be half dead or something. thats plain
weird. SO it could just be the way he wanted to show the presence of
him dying. Like a Pheonix like blows up in a way, well thats

maybe it was dumbledor turining into a ghost like all of the many ghost there but i doubt it but ya never know........ i do think that hes dead and i dont think that had really anything to deal with him coming back or anyhting

Well, I'm pretty sure Dumbledore's patronus was a pheonix but I think this was just a way of honoring him because as we now know, he was dead and wasn't sending any secret messages. Cool theory though.
