| Hiya! Part I.For this class you will choose two (2) creatures from the ones displayed below (click on the thumbnail to enlarge) and colour it in. You can do this in any way you like: you can do it in a paint program (or similar) on your computer, you can print it out and colour it by hand then scan it or take a photo then upload it here, and if there's a third way, you can also do it that way! The more creative your colouring, the more points you'll receive! This section is worth 40 points (20 points each picture). Part II.In no less than one hundred (100) words talk about your creature: describe its outstanding charactistics, why you coloured it that way, its environment, what its name is, etc. The more creative you are, the more points you will receive. This section is worth 60 points (30 each creature). Points possible: 100. Choose TWO of these: From left to right: Centaur, fairy, fairy, faun, giant, gnome, troll, unicorn, winged horse, dragon. All pictures from thecolouringspot.com | |

| The Fire-Breathing Water Dragon The Fire-Breathing Water Dragon (more commonly known as the "Blue Water Dragon" is a large but agile dragon living in the clear, shallow waters of tropical places ranging from Latin America to parts of the Mediterranean as well. Because of it's location in such clear and usually shallow waters (which they still in to hunt their prey which are mostly medium sized fish) the dragon is a light blue color, which makes it easier to blend in even when the sun is shining and the sky is clear; this also makes them very dangerous in some vacation spots for their tendency of sneaking up on innocent swimmers and sometimes resorting to attacks (a simple repelling charm will keep you safe in such situations). It has light green ridges and stripes on its underbelly and back; this also helps the dragon to blend in to the local sea life in the area. One of the very unique properties of the Blue Water Dragon is its magical tail, which is actually a flame, something very uncommon in most dragons, especially water dragons. Fish are attracted to the warmth the flame makes in the surrounding water, making it much easier to catch its prey. Finally, the dragon also has the ability to spew fire causing boiling water to surge in the immediate area; the Blue Water Dragon prefers his fish cooked rather than raw, so the fire comes in handy in the water.
The Grecian Faerie A very shy and hard to find species of faeries, the Grecian Faeries are located in the magically protected regions of southern Greece. Protected by the Greek Ministry of Magic, they live in the Purple Mushroom fields located near the shore of the Mediterranean Sea (wizards are only allowed to visit for educational purposes and the fields are protected by Muggle Repelling Charms). While they are quiet at first, these Faeries are known for their outgoing personalities among each other and their characteristic bright colors of wings and dresses (as you can see, this particular faerie has a pink, purple and green color range). These colors are used to attract attention from other faeries but also blend in with the surrounding Mushroom Fields, keeping them safe from any would-be predators since they are so small and easily mistaken for butterflies rather than the creatures they are. | |

| The faun is one of my favorite creatures ever. First appearing in Greek mythology, the god Pan was introduced as a half human, half goat creature. The top half resembled a man, with large pointed ears and small stubby horns. The bottom half was furry and built like a goats', with hooves for feet and a tail. Pan was known for his flute-like invention, the panpipes, which allowed him to play beautiful, soothing music that calmed the animals of the Earth. Sense then, fauns have grown different characteristics, like curly horns or split hooves, sometimes even long fluffy tails. The species is very friendly but shy and unusual to see in the wild. However, when muggles claim to hear a soft and mesmarizing music in the woods, it ususally is a faun playing his panpipes. The fairy is a very common creature, found mostly in the deepist part of the woods. They have a very unique way or staying organized, and tend to be peaceful towards humans. They are hard-working and dedicated to protecting nature and all of it's wonders. Fairies can be broken down into several groups: the weather fairies, healing fairies, growing fairies, and tinker fairies. Weather fairies are in charge of keeping the weather in balance all over the world, and can manipulate fire, wind, water, etc. to their will. Healing fairies keep themselves, the earth, and other species healthy and fight of viruses and diseases. Growing fairies have the very important job of helping aid other creatures in raising young, and planting and growing all species of trees to keep the damage humans have done to the wild minimal. Tinkier fairies invent things to help aid the other fairies as well as make sure the humans do not become to technologically advanced. | |
