Potions Professor Vacancy

Due to other commitments, our DADA Professor is taking a step back from professor duties for a while, which leaves an opening for the position.

Yes, I would like to keep my old classes.

I would like to have the position of Potions Master because this is a very unique subject, being one of the only Harry Potter subjects that have magical results without the necessity of any wands and incantations. There are so many plants and ingredients that have magical properties, both in the world of Harry Potter and outside of it, that the possibilities for new classes are endless, both for individual ingredients and their effects in potions. I love the subtle logic that goes into potion making and think it would be an intriguing class to be responsible for. If I were made Professor, I would start by splitting the classes into three levels that increase in difficulty, because it is important that students be prepared for the amount of effort that goes into OWLs and NEWTs so they aren’t surprised when they get to the right year to take them, and can therefore achieve higher grades and earn more house points. With Pottermore now open to all, I would also create a class that allows you to earn house points for doing those potions and print screening the results as proof, and then answering a series of simple questions on the potion as well so they know exactly what it is they’re making; in this way, they are not only gaining points for their House on Pottermore, but they’re also interacting on HE as well. I would also love to open a special forum for Potions, since it is one of the few classes without one. In this sub-forum, students would start by creating their own “Potions Book” where they will store all their ingredients and new potions. By completing challenges (such as logic puzzles, RP styled situations about acquiring an ingredient or making a potion, and simple questions about potions in general), students will be able to earn new ingredients and later use those ingredients to make and add potions to their book. For an incentive, I believe allowing students to use these potions in RP challenges, such as the upcoming Duels, would encourage more members to participate in the sub-forum as they could then use a Shrinking Solution, ect. against an opponent.
