Subject: Festivities Extravaganza Quidditch Challenge Sun Apr 07 2013, 11:08

First, for those who don't know how to play Quidditch in HE, take a look HERE!

Second, I don't expect to have a full team, much less two, so here is how it's going to work. People will start posting, greeting each other and say if they're playing in each other's team or against each other (or even if they want just to be the referee!). As soon as there are two opposing teams, the game can start. Remember to always post which team you're on and your position! Also remember RPG rules and good manners and respect each other and each other's posts!

Points will be decided in the end after analyzing how this game fared!

Amber hummed to herself as she made her way out on the Quidditch pitch. It wasn't too long ago that she'd been out here doing the same exact thing, but she'd had so much fun that she'd decided that she wanted to do it again. Sure, playing Quidditch was fun times, but it was more fun to be a part of the game where it didn't require actual contact with other players. Sure, many people would disagree and that was all in their rights, but personally, she felt much better commentating about the game and making the calls.

The job did require that she arrived first, but it wasn't too big of a problem to accomplish that. By the time that she made it down to the empty pitch, it felt nice. Smiling, she took in the fresh air and clear sky, glad that it looked like it'd be good weather for quidditch. Positioning her broom, she swung a leg over it and flew into the air. Soaring around. It felt good, the wind blowing through her hair and the absolute endless possibility as to what would happen today. Now all that was left to do was to wait for everyone else to arrive so that they could get the party started.

Stephy walked out onto the pitch broom in hand. She was glad to see that the weather was a lot warmer than what it was during her last visit here. Seeing the snow go wasn't a sad sight for her. She was ready to once again see the fill up with colorful flowers and spend some time out in the sun again. Making sure that her hair was tied up out of her eyes, she kicked hard off of the ground soaring up into the air.

Looking around the pitch Stephy noticed that it seemed a bit empty. She was certain more people would show up soon at least she wasn't the only one there. Stephy waved to Amber.

"Hey Amber! You going to be ref again?" Stephy asked as she flew over towards her. She wanted to see who all was going to be on her team. It would be fun to finally be able to play intense game like in the old days and playing with new members would make it even more exciting.

Amber wasn't surprised when she noticed someone else heading toward the field not too long after she took off. The most dedicated players would be sure to get there quickly, especially given the fact that there hadn't been a lot of time to practice for the match. Rai hadn't exactly announced it ages ahead of time and not everyone played for fun all that often - it was kind of hard to even put together a small team just to scrimmage against. She slowed down to a stop to greet the person, smiling when she realized that it was Stephy who had joined.

There was a list of people in her mind that she thought would take part in the game and Stephy was certainly on that list. The other girl was a good player and she loved the game, so of course she'd show up early to get on a good team.

"That I am," she answered, gesturing to her referee shirt. "Well and commentator. I had so much fun last time, I couldn't help but come back and do it again!" She laughed at the memory of the last game. It'd been wild and she hoped that this one would be too. "What about you? Playing chaser, I'd presume?"

Team One Chaser and Captain

Circling high above the heads of the two little ants below her, a smile crossed over her features as her fingers involuntarily squeezed the handle of her broom. The air was crisp and the coming heat of summer was dampened by April's showers. A slight touch was all her broom needed to propel down into a nose dive, right in between Amber and Stephy.

"Weeeeeeeeee!!!"

Laughter echoed throughout the pitch as the force wind caused her chocolate brown locks to scatter. Her quick descent would force the two girls apart as she managed to pull up in a quick arch to avoid smashing her broom into the ground. Lily threw back a casual wave and a wink to her fellow quidditch players as she easily sailed through the air like an old pro. This was only the beginning, for Raisty-boy would have a shock and she had many, many plans.

Without hesitation, she raised two fingers to her lips and a loud piercing whistle could be heard from miles around. With a loud voice, Lily could command armies.

"All players front AND center!"

It wouldn't be right if the returning flying instructor didn't join in all the quidditch fun.

Rigby tugged on her quidditch robes, a bit snugger than they'd been the last time she played but her butt still fit the broomstick so she wasn't completely disheartened. She quickly tied her hair into a side braid and hurried onto the pitch just in time to hear Lily's high pitched whistle.

Although she had been worried since she hadn't flown in awhile, Rigby realized that it was second nature. She was in the air, racing to meet Lily and Stephy before she give it a second thought. It felt great to be on a broom again! The sun warm on her face, the wind stinging her eyes a bit as she flew fast. The years seemed to blow away and she was once again back in the golden days of quidditch. Maybe too much back in it, as she winced at the memory of all the bludgers she'd taken and glanced around to see if Etta had shown up on the pitch.

Thankfully, only her teammates and Amby were on the pitch. Arriving at Lily's side she grinned, winking at her captain and the girl who'd taught her all she knew about the game. Rigby waived at Amby, and then the crowd that was beginning to gather. She said hi to Stephy, but resisted the urge to fly over and tacklehug one of her favorite Ravies since Lily had her game face on.

The familiar thrum of excitement began to stir her blood, and Rigby's hands itched to wrap around that golden snitch once more.

Stephy was about to answer Amber's question of which position she was playing when something came flying through the air and between the two of them. Stephy jerked her broom away making sure that the newcomer didn't ram into her. Looking down towards the ground she nearly cried out Lily's name as she made her way back up to the two.

"All players front AND center!"

"Looks like Lily's gonna be team leader." Stephy chuckled to Amber as she flew over to her old Ravie Quidditch Captain. Then shortly afterwards Rigby was arriving on the field. Stephy was excited to see who the next person to come. Hopefully they were one of her old fellow Qudditch players.

"RIGBY!" Stephy exclaimed as she flew over to her side. Rigby held back a hug but Stephy couldn't. She wrapped her arms around Rigby and gave her a huge hug. It felt like it had been forever since the two of them talked. What better place to meet than right before a Quidditch match. "It's been too long! Glad to see ya both here! Soon the pitch will be covered in blue." Stephy giggle ready for the game to start now. She turned to her Captain Lily as she waited for more to show and for what Lily had to say.

A groan emerged from under a pile of disguarded quidditch robes which had been left in a heap on a bench in the team two changing room.

With a bang, a curse and an even louder groan a figure emerged from the bench. Rubbing her head gingerly, Etta rolled off the bench and onto the floor.

"I'm too old for this," she muttered, crawling on her hands and knees towards the broom cupboard.

Using the cold metal door of the cupboard to pull herself up, Etta swayed, the sound of the crowd gathered in the stands was like magic to her aching bones. Reaching inside the cupboard she retrieved her trusty old broom, examined its many marks from a past spent soaring through the skies above Hogwarts. Her fingers traced over one mark in particular and a memory hit her like bluder to the head.

Daleks, The Doctor, Captain Jack .... Giant Kangeroos .... The Black Pearl .... Ultimate chaos.

An evil grin spread across the one wrinkle lined face, and blue eyes sparkled with glee.

Poking her head out of the changing room Etta spotted a familiar foe on the opposing team. With an even bigger evil grin, she took several steps backwards, reached out her left hand and grabbed her beaters bat, Etta took a run.

Running as fast as she could out of the changing room and free falling into the Quidditch Stadium, Etta did a spectacular flip and landed on her broom.

Backwards.

"Oh sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh........."

The petite brunette must have circled around the pitch several times before she slowed her broom down to a crawl in front of her long-time team mates. A sparkle of glee was caught in the corner of her eye as she examined Stephy and Rigby before her. While she might have had her game face on, she was happy to see her old friends.

"You two look like you've crawled out of a grave, what happened to keeping up with practices?!?"

Shaking her head at their disheveled appearances, Lily knew she couldn't keep on these airs for long. She had been gone a long time and she always had blamed herself for the death of her beloved game on HE. She had been the Master of all things Quidditch and it was high time she reclaimed her rightful title and place. Before she knew it, her smile had fought through the memories of the past.

"Ready to have some fun lady Ravens?!?"

Her attention was momentarily distracted as she turned to find Etta facing the wrong way on her broom. One brow arched perfectly to the heavens as her laughter couldn't help but burst through.

"Oi! Etta! Did you forget which way you're supposed to go!"

With one hand cupping her lips, she shouted over the length of the pitch.

Swifty had acute hearing. Too acute. Her hearing was tuned to the sound of her big sister's voice; it was that shrill whistle that jolted her out of a three-year-long Quidditch slumber. She looked blearily out of her window in Gryffindor Tower in time to see Lily scatter Amby and Stephy, grabbed her beloved broom from where it had been lying for too long, then leapt out of the window.

In her dressing gown.

... Bugger.

Five minutes later, she was back in the air, this time in some old Quidditch robes she had found in her chest. It'll come back, you can do this, she thought in exasperation. She soared high above the pitch, watching as Etta stumbled into view, and giggled. Some things never change.

"BIG SIS!"

Lily turned just in time. The little black-haired ball of Gryffindor tackled her to the ground from where she stood, face blushing slightly at the undermining of her authority; Swifty knew this, and gladly took full advantage of it. She rolled off of her and pulled her up, grinning.

"Oops. Hi Amby! Hi Stephy! Hi Rigby! Hi... Ettie??" Swifty couldn't tell; Etta's back was still turned. "Seems I got the Quidditch bug again... I hope we get to play soon!"

She looked around. They needed more players, and fast. Come on, HE...

After surviving the bone crushing hug from Stephy (thanks to her secret bludger survival kit she'd been working on), Rigby grinned at the happy Ravie.

"Stephy, you look great! It has been too long, but we're back up where we belong!" She grinned until her cheeks hurt, thrilled to be reunited with her teammates.

The grin slid off Rigby's face when she saw Etta take to the pitch. There were still gaps in her memory thanks to too many bludgers to the head from this particular Hufflepuff hellion. However, the site of Etta landing on her broomstick backwards had her barking with laughter. Etta might bring the pain, but she certainly livened up the game!

Rigby's mind wandered back to all the seeker moves she'd learn, but now seemed hopelessly jumbled in her mind. How did she pull out of a dive, and did the Vrinski Barrel Roll require a turn to the right of the left? She sighed, either it would come back or it wouldn't. She just might end up backwards on Etta's broomstick too.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Lily's question.

Was she ready to have fun?

"Hell yeah, let's go Ravens!" she cried, letting go of the broom handle to pump her fists. Immediately the broom dipped and she slid forward several inches before righting herself a little too enthusiastically. Well, mystery solved on how to pull out of a dive, she thought ruefully.

Swifty's arrival on the pitch made Rigby happy. This game was really happening!

Suddenly, there was a familiar noise emanating from the stands, although at fist, no one could quite put their fingers on where they had heard it before. Looking around in confusion, they noticed the large grin on Etta's face, and then suddenly everything came back to them...

Daleks, The Doctor, Captain Jack .... Giant Kangeroos .... The Black Pearl .... Ultimate chaos...The playlist for a game quite a while ago...

As the noise grew, it became apparent that the game was going nowhere, not unless they wanted to be deafened. As everyone covered their ears, a blue box started to materialize in front of them, the familiar noise now turning into an almighty screech which echoed loudly around the whole pitch, threatening to burst eardrums, though as soon as it stated, it stopped abruptly, turning into silence.

"What the..." Someone whispered from the crowd, but before anyone else could answer, the blue box opened its doors, one falling to the floor with a bang!

Standing in the opening was another familiar sight.

"oops"

Elfie's figure jumped from the TARDIS and surveyed the damage.

"The Doctor is NOT going to be pleased with me this time" she said before grabbing a purple painted broom and jumping from the stands into the pitch.

"Sorry for the disruption guys! I was in the middle of my blog when I was summoned here!"

Elfie grinned and jumped on her broom, surveying a lot of the old crowd along with some younger faces, "Lets get going then, shall we!?"

TARDIS. The TARDIS is here. Elfie just.... THE FREAKING TARDIS IS ON THE QUIDDITCH PITCH I CAN'T AARGHHGHHGHGHHAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Swifty was grinning from ear to ear, her heart hammering in nerdy fangirl excitement. She was even wearing her TARDIS t-shirt! Would the Doctor like it if she showed him? Wait, would showing him her tee even be allowed? Wait, WAS THE DOCTOR IN THE TARDIS?? And oh my gosh COULD SHE TOUCH HIS HAIR??!

She hovered on her broom for a second, hesitant, then shot down to the pitch, heading straight for the open door of the brilliant blue box. She could see it. She could see the console, she could see his back as he fiddled with some controls, she could see his fabulous hair. Come on...

Through her excitement, she didn't hear it dematerialising. She could see it slowly fade, and for a split second, the Doctor glanced behind him, at her, and looked into her soul. Her heart stopped, and she lost control. The last of the TARDIS disappeared, and she flew straight through the space where it had been, swerving upward violently to avoid crashing into the stands, where she narrowly missed a potentially gruesome collision with Lily.

Lily had that look on her face. The what-do-you-THINK-you're-doing look.

... Now I'm in for it. Think of an excuse, quick!

"Erm... erm... Ifwehadenoughplayerstherewouldn'tbeanydistractionsbigsishonest!!" she babbled. Score one - Swifty! "And and and... um... look it's Elfie!" Grinning, she turned and flew straight at her headmistress (for Rai would never be head in her eyes), shouting "BASKET OF PEEEEEEAS!" before landing in front of Elfie and saluting.

(note: I am actually wearing my TARDIS tee right now... XD)

Etta rearranged herself on her broomstick with about as much as a baby elephant ice skating, but she managed, eventually.

She waved at the opposition players, pointing her bat named 'Hector' at Kate and winking with evil intentions at the poor Seeker.

As she winked she heard the familiar grind of engines, the sound known to omit from the TARDIS when a certain floppy haired someone forgot to take the breaks off. Etta looked down and saw the Tardis in all its blue glory and cheered when she realised the mighty Elf had returned for a final fight.

"What on earth is ....." she muttered when she saw Swifty flying towards the vanishing TARDIS. Etta giggled. "Better luck next time Swifty!"

Cackling like the evil hippo baby eating loon that she was Etta flew to the side of Elfie and looked as innocent as pie.

"Just so you know, OldwiseOne, if you were on the other team, i'd soooooo be mugging you for tthat purple hippo hanging out of your pocket .... He looks, yummy," drooled Etta. "Very very yummy ... can i have a nibble? Just to make sure he's seasoned, i mean matured properly for a hippo of his age and chewyness?"

Marie felt like it had been forever - which, to be fair, it had, but who's counting right - as she made her way inside team two's changing room. She looked around with a bit of nostalgia in her eyes, taking in a deep breath, which turned out to be a horrific idea as she coughed and wheezed against the smell of sweaty old robes and dusty equipment. "This is what I cancelled my scrapbooking classes for," she mumbled a bit to herself, gathering her hair up in a messy ponytail, placing her broom down on a bench. It was a bit out of shape, much like herself, but she'd done her best to keep it in working shape.

She hadn't been sure her old set of Quidditch robes would still fit her, but she would tie it around her with a rope if she had to before she put on the moldy smelling spare uniforms hanging in the room. Thankfully, after a bit of tugging and pulling, she managed to get herself dressed and ready to go. She felt a bit uneasy and hesitant as she grabbed her broom though, wondering if people would think she still belonged. She tried to give herself a surge of confidence though as she walked over to the pitch - life had been busy for everybody after all. She was happy to be back for this event, and though she'd never been the queen of anything, she would do her best to help out her house. Her Hufflepuffs were still near and dear to her heart, and she was still a badger through and through. Not to mention, she'd actually been invited to this friendly game by a couple of people, and she wouldn't have wanted to turn down their invitation.

With that thought in mind, she took her first step on the green grass of the pitch, hopping on her broom before anyone noticed her and kicking the ground to send herself soaring in the air, a light squeal escaping her as she gave it a bit more strength than planned. "Oooh no, too high, too high," she breathed out as she swiftly headed back down, taking the time to look around herself and taking in the amount of people already flying around, her mouth gaping open a bit as memories came to her, and she didn't know who to greet first.

Amber jumped slightly as Lily's whistle rang through the stadium. Frowning a little and looking down at her whistle, wondering why she couldn't just whistle like Lily. Hearing Stephy announce that it looked like Lily was going to be team captain she nodded.

"Looks like it," she stated warily, suddenly worried that this game wasn't going to be as friendly as she'd originally imagined. As far as she'd been aware, there were no captains at all and it'd be more of a scrimmage match. But maybe she'd misheard Rai when he was talking. He did talk a lot and sometimes she nodded off. Plus, she'd been busy thinking about what she was going to wear.

During her inner debate about if she'd misunderstood Rai or just hadn't listened when he was talking, a couple of other players arrived. By the time that she shook herself out of her reserve, Kate and Etta had gotten there and Swiftie was in the middle of tackling Lily.

"Hi Swiftie," she called back happily, waving at her fellow Gryffindor. "Hiya Kate! Hello Etta!" she called in greeting to the third Ravenclaw that joined and the first Hufflepuff.

When Elfie showed up, in the Tardis of all things she couldn't even find herself to be surprised. After all, the woman did manage this place in all of its craziness for years, she deserved to travel around in a spaceship that doubled as a police box.

"Hey Elfie!" she waved in greeting, watching everyone as they started to take their places. Although she did notice there were still a couple of people missing on each team. For instance, she knew that Rai was supposed to be here and he'd be livid if they started without him.

"Alright, we'll start in five minutes or when Rai gets here. Whichever will keep me my job," she announced to the gathered group after blowing her whistle to get their attention. So much was going on, it was hard to believe the group that was here already.

When a new comer arrived, she looked over and expected to see Rai. Instead, she was surprised to see her wife in her quidditch gear. Didn't she have scrapbooking class today? She was sure that she did. Had she cancelled?! How sweet.

"Hi sweetie!" she called, smiling widely at her wife. Oh wait, she shouldn't show her special treatment. Clearing her throat, she looked awkwardly around. "Er- I mean, hi Marie!"

Stephy noticed more and more of the older members arrived onto the field and was growing more and more excited about the match starting. It had been a long time since she had a chance to play quidditch and it had been an even longer time since she played Quidditch with some of the people on the field right now. Now she just had to wait for the game to begin. After greeting all the new members to arrive on the field Stephy sat on her broom and waited for the announcement of the game to begin. After awhile she started to grow a little impatient and looking down at the field below she noticed a crate filled with the quidditch balls. Every position might not have been filled but they might fill up later. After all this is for a game of fun not so much for competition. So Stephy decided to take matters into her own hands.

She flew down to the ground and opened up the crate of balls looking at each one. In the middle was the Quaffle, it had been a long time since she had thrown this red ball through one of the hoops on either side of the pitch. Then on either side of it was the two black Bludgers trying to escape like usual. These little buggers were what was causing the crate to shake on its own. Then hidden in the little compartment in the top was the golden snitch. Stephy first released this ball wonder if anyone was paying any attention to her. Next she released the Bludgers taking great care not to get hit by then as they flew out of the crate glad to be free. She had been hit by one of those black balls many times in the past and wasn't looking forward to another hit. The Quaffle was what was left and she took this ball under her arm and mounted her broom flying high into the sky.

"Hey guys." Stephy shouted hoping to get everyone's attention. "Lets play Quidditch!" and with that Stephy threw the red ball up as high into the sky as she could. She knew there was no was she'd be able to get to Quaffle but hopefully another Chaser on her team would. It didn't matter, she was finally glad to get a game started.

(Keeper - Team Two)

Raistlin was locked up in his office when his alarm in form of an Owl began screeching "Mischief, mischief, mischief". Raising from his chair, the HeadMaster went to the owl, touched it with his wand and an image appeared in the owl's eyes: stephy releasing the Quidditch balls.

"What?! How dare she? I'll have her whipped."

Storming out of the office he made his way to the Quidditch pitch. Seething rage clouding his judgement it was only when he reached the fields and saw all the oldies that he realized there was a Quidditch game going on, one he had scheduled himself.

Raistlin was quite shocked to see such powerhouse oldies returning for the game, one would think there was something to be proven there. I mean, there was his former wife Marie, unpredictable Etta, nemesis Lily, and even short attention span Elfie - that was a bomb ready to tick off! He took a quick look at a board outside the locker rooms, it was enchanted to fill itself with the names and positions of everyone in a broom in the pitch.

"Hmm... interesting, let's see how a team with no chasers fares against of a team of only chasers."

Truth be told, there was Rigby as a seeker but he didn't think much of the Ravenclaw, she'd soon be distracted by some book and forget about the snitch. He got inside the locker room and a minute later emerged in full Keeper gear.

Grabbing his broom he kicked the grassed and soared to the goalposts. He nodded to amber and said.

"I'm ready, let the show begin."
