This is one of my favorite British comedies hahahaha hyacinth is hilarious

You gotta check out this show I'm sure that Elfie, Amy, Elly and,Becky know what I'm talking about?

Hyacinth, Richard, Elizabeth, Rose, Oswald, Daisy hahahaha man this show makes me laugh everytime!!!

Does anyone else like this show?

okay it's a british comedy about trying to impress people. Hyacinth always tries to impress people and in the MOST annoying way. It's got all sorts of quirkiness in it.

I started watching it when I was flipping through the channels and we have BBC-Britsh Broadcasting Channel-and it was on once and then after watching that one episode I was laughing so hard I was crying. So I started to watch it and got hooked on it.

hmmm I think I saw that channel but flipped right past it to other movies and food channel stuff lol but now I think I'd have to go check and see this BBC channel..lol

haha yeah I used to skip that channel all the time but then when I came across that channel I was surprised at the funny stuff they have on there.

BBC...i don't know why but I think I always thought of that as some sort of news channel...lol it just sounds like a news channel to me...and I know that I shouldn't but I never stop at news channels..much

Oh yeah me too. I would think BBC was a news channel which is why I would skip it cuz well there used to be news on it each time I flipped to it. Funny huh? Well one thing about this show, the poor husband-Richard who is Hyacinth's husband, has to deal with all of her fiddle faddle ideas hahaha.
I'll tell ya what, I'll check out Grey Anatomy and you check out this one :D

well depending on your time zone, like for me it's 8pm on weekends but im central time. I live in the US.

heh yeah ya never know same with me.

At first it may not make sense but once you start recognizing key phrases and actions you'll find them funny.

Like when Richard is driving Hyacinth everywhere, you will hear her always say "Mind the pedestrians dear"
and the pedestrains will be on the sidewalk.
Hyacinth likes side seat driving.
Also she tries to get in with the popular crowds to impress them and things usually go terribly wrong.

Is it just a comedy like friends or is it slightly drama with funny stuff in it?

It's really just a bunch of light hearted comedy and doesn't really get deep into anything. It's one of those shows that you don't have to really think on just watch and laugh heh. If that makes any sense?

lol yeah I know you didn't see what I said about the simpsons? I like shows thats just flat out funny and don't make you think...personally I don't really like shows that make you think alot...lol

But Keeping up Appearances is one of those don't think but just laugh shows.

I cCANNOT BELIEVE YOU WATCH THIS TOO, i've seen this since i was...born! *huggles the show and remembers her childhood* hyacinth and richarch bucket...prounounced Bouquet. Do you feel more sorry for the postman or Emmet?

have you seen, i think it's an hour long episode called angel gabriel blue. Hyacinth is resurfacing the kitchen, and on a side note richard had athletes foot, but since she deems that to lower middle class, she claims he has gout.

and the one where he has to go golfing (not with the major, and different ep) and they have onslow pretend to be like a thug and richard 'kicks' him off the golf course...and hyacinth wants richard to be more 'forceful and executive''

oh and when they sail aboard the QE2 and they think onslow and daisy are stow aways....

This show is funny and I have to say I try to watch it every night that it's on. Hyacinth is such a pain in the butt and poor Emmet, and Elisabeth have to live next door to her.
But yeah the one who has to put up with her the most is Richard. I admire that guy. hehe :lol:

zomg have you seen the one where this guy is talking to richard in their front yard, and hyacinth comes out, and richard turns around after she goes back in the house and the guy is kneeling behind the brick yard out of site?

*laughs* and emmet is always trying to sneak in and out without her 'singing at him'

Lol and the vicar, and his poor wife, and rose and daisy, and violet and bruce! hahaha

I love, love, love this show! I used to watch it all the time with my grandma on PBS. We also watched As Time Goes By. That's another of my favorites.
