Performance dance 2: Gryffindor

::Amy watched from the wings as the audience settled into their seats.

She looked out across the stage, taking in the scenery. The back of the stage was painted to look like a wood, and in front of that another piece of scenery that was painted to look like a field with a fence in it.

On the right, there was a big tree, with shiny red apples looking ripe enough to eat.

She glanced sideways at Algie and Rip, in their costumes, and then the curtains went down, so that Emma could take her place on the stage.

::Becky waited nervously for the curtain to rise, fiddling with the end of her plaited hair.

She looked at Caroru, the owl and smiled.

"Caro," she whispered, "act like a dog! You are Toto after all!"

"Bark!" Caro replied, flapping her wings, and wagging her magicked on tail.

Rip waited as Emma walked to her position, in front of the painted field, and watched as Emma stood very still - she was, after all, playing the tin man.::

::Rip heard the gentle accompanying music start up, and walked onto the stage. She looked around and thought that the decorators had done a great job of creating a forset.::

::Mesmerised by the set, she almost forgot her lines. "Come on Toto!" she called to Caro. She heard her bark before she came crawling ontot he stage, magical tale wagging::

::Amy followed as the scarecrow. The scarecrow and Dorothy then linked arms and started singing 'we're off the see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz'. They had just started to do a little skip to the music, when they bumped into a very shiny 'tree'::

" Oh!" they cried as they fell to the floor. All they could see was a tin foot. Becky knocked on it and she heard the sound effects make a very low, dull clunking noise::

::Amy as the scarecrow looked at Becky (Dorothy) as she tapped on the metal foot.

" Why, it's a man! A man made out of tin!" Becky said.

" What?" Replied Amy.

" Yes. Oh -- look --" Becky said, but was interrupted by Emma (the tin man) saying her lines.


" Oil can.....Oil can...." Emma said, in a rusty sounding voice.

They realised that the tin man needed oiling, and saw the can of oil on the fence. Becky picked it up and began oiling Emma, until eventually she was able to act as though her joints were loosened up.

The next few minutes of the acting part were spent establishing how the tin man had come to be that way, rusted into place, and then the tin man began his dance.::

::Becky laughed as she watched Emma dance. She didn't know that the dance of th tin man was 'robot' dancing to some techno music::

::Becky saw that the tin man's dance included an axe. From the expression on Algie's face, her arm was tired from holding the axe in the air for aaaages. Becky walks up the Algie, and 'pretends' to struggle with the removal of the axe from her grasp. This lasted a few moments, when...

"Oh!" said Algie

" ...Oh, did that hurt?" Becky said in her Dorothy voice.
