| Hi, I would like to apply for this job. I have some of my ideas for class assignments listed below.
Transfiguration class ideas:
1: Exploring Transfiguring of the Dark Side:
1. What is one dark or evil transfiguration that a being has done in the past either Harry Potter or in some fictional story, that has caused a lot of trouble for the good side?
2. Name two villainous people/creatures that use transfiguration in fairy tale stories
3. How were the villains listed above caught?
4. What Dark Creature would you transfigure into a good creature and why did you choose that one?
5.What would be Voldemort's animagus? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Transfiguring Experiences~
1. When transfiguring into the following creatures give a detailed explaination of at least 50 words per creature: keeping in mind the following things, how it would be done, head first? arms? legs? the descriptive feeling as the transfiguration is happening:~
A. Bird B. cat C.horse D. Fish E. Snake F:Butterfly
2. Pick one of the creatures above and write an incantation that will allow you to transform/transfigure into that animal.
3. Explore and research the world of Disney and find two movies that has someone or something with transfiguration in it. Describe whether the transfiguration was done for good or evil deeds.
Those are just a few ideas i have.

| I have devised a long term study plan for transfiguration. It consists of several units, each unit having several different classes. There would be more classes for each unit, but for this brief lesson plan, I did not go into those
Unit 1- History of Transfiguration
Class 1- Where Did it Begin? * 15 points total*
We know that transfiguration has been around for hundred of thousands of years. But where did it start? Did ancient myths and legends spark this new idea of turning one thing into another? Write an essay discussing how transfiguration began. Remember to include information about the people who first discovered transfiguration, and the location (where in the world) it all began. This essay should be at least two paragraphs long.
Unit 2- Transfiguration in the Muggle World
Class 1- Solve the Problem *15 points total*
It is important, as you all know, to keep magic away from muggles. Write an essay in which a muggle oversees you in the middle of transfiguring something. Describe how, using transfiguration only (no memory charms, or anything to cause the muggle to forget) you would solve this problem. How would you explain things to the muggle (you can not tell him about the magical world!)? How would you fix the item that you transfigured, right before the muggle’s eyes? Remember to use transfiguration to solve these problems.
Class 2- Modern Transfiguration Needs *20 points total* (2 pt per example)
1) Name five examples of events being talked about in the news today. (ex: terroists, gas shortages) Write at least 50 worlds per example on how transfiguration could be used to solve these problems.
2) Think about some of the problems in life that people think about. (ex- their weight, health, education, social life) How could transfiguration help? Give five examples and at least 50 words per example.
Unit 3- Animagi
Class 1- Animagi Basics *10 points total*
1) Define an animagus. (1)
2) What is the difference between using transfiguration, and being an animagus? (2)
3) Name a few historical witches and wizards who were animagi. (2)
4) What originalities were they, and what were their animagi forms? (2)
5) It is commonly assumed that a person’s animagus form and what other form will be the same. What is this other form and has this theory been proven in the books? (1)
6) While transforming, a witch or wizard must retain what two things? (1)
7) From 1993- 1994 how many registered animagi were there? (1)
Class 2- Matching People to Their Animagus *15 points total*
In this lesson, we will learn how to pick your animagus. Research the following people and get a feel for each of their personalities. Then consider their personalities, and decide what you believe their animagus might be. Explain in detail what qualities of their personality led you to your answers. Remember, although you can pick whatever animagus you want, personality plays a big part in figuring out what animagus is best.
1) Napoleon Bonaparte
2) George Washington
3) Eleanor Roosevelt
4) Leonardo Da Vinci
5) Marie Curie
Class 3- Personality to Animagus *10 points total*
In this lesson, we will expand on understanding how to choose an animagus. Think about the types of animals listed, and next to each of them, write a few sentences about the pros and cons of having an animagus like this. .
1) Dog
2) Owl
3) Donkey
4) Fish
5) Blasted-End- Skrewt
Class 4- A Day in the Life of an Animagus *40 points total*
Write an essay telling the tale of your first day using your animagus. Explain your thoughts and feelings as you transform into your animagus. Do your senses change to fit your animagus? Do they affect the way you act normally when you are not transformed? Do you use your wand to transform? Are you learning to adapt to your animagus’s lifestyle? Give a detailed report of your entire day. This may be no less then 200 words.
So that's my lesson plan, I hope you like it!

| I would be thrilled to get this position. I have created mini lessons to give you an idea of what my classes would be like. Bear in mind, there would be more questions and the points awarded are to be determined. I did 5 examples, but I didn’t want to go overboard and stuck with 3 examples. The other two classes where focused on Transfiguration used everyday around the house, and Transfigurations used during wars. Long term class goals would cover: Basic Transfiguration Knowledge. What is Transfiguration? Everyday Transfigurations. Transfigurations and War. Animal Transfiguration. What events in Muggle mythology involve Transfiguration? Muggle Magic and Transfiguration. Transfiguration and the Movies. example classes: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First Class: Basic Knowledge Part 1 1. Define Transfiguration.(4) 2. Name three different situations in the Harry Potter books where transfiguration was used, and to what effect.(6) 3. What Greek Goddess was famous for turning men to pigs? Where did she live? (4) 4. Find and write about an event in mythology that involved transfiguration.(6) Part 2 Proper techniques are required for successful Transfiguration. Create a guide for Kwikspell on the proper techniques involved in Transfiguration such as wand movements and environments. This is supposed to be fun and creative. Use your imaginations. You can either use diagrams and graphics, or simply write out detailed explanations. (20) Part 1: 20 Part 2: 20 Total Points: 40 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Second Class: Transfiguration in Work Part 1 This class, I hope, is to be fun and imaginative! I would like you to take five of the following seven jobs and think about what sort of Transfigurations you would use to aid you during the course of your day. Write at least a 100 word short story for each the five occupations you chose detailing a day at work and the Transfiguration used. This is worth 50 points. You may choose one of the following occupations: Auror Healer Teacher Ministry Worker Shop Owner Dragon Caretaker Housewife Bonus: Include a picture depicting an event in your story. (10) Part 1: 50 Bonus: 10 Total Points: 60 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Third Class: Animagi Part 1 1. What is an Animagi?(3) 2. What does the animal a wizard changes into reflect about the wizard?(3) 3. What is thought to happen to a Wizard’s clothing while he or she is in animal form?(6) 4. Name four Animagi, their animals, and why they turned into said animals.(8) Part 2 Take the Animagus Form quiz http://quiz.myyearbook.com/zenhex/quiz.php?id=107071 and discover what shape you would take as an animal. Post your results here along with a description of why you think you got the animal you did, what your unique characteristics would be, and how you would live as this animal. This should be 300-500 words (20) Bonus Points: Create a graphic of your Animagus form, and its specific characteristics that would be unique to you. Explain why it has these characteristics.(10) Part 1: 20 Part 2: 20 Bonus Points: 10 Total Points Possible: 50 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ALWAYS INCLUDE SOURCES! http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizard.htmlhttp://quiz.myyearbook.comwww.google.com | |
