First topic message reminder :

I thought I'd start a topic for discussions about Jo's website, www.jkrowling.com , and so we can keep track of when she updates.

The site's been up a while now, but she updates it every so often.

Last week, she updated the FAQ poll with some interesting information about the Secret Keeper:

When a Secret-Keeper dies, their secret dies with them, or, to put it another way, the status of their secret will remain as it was at the moment of their death. Everybody in whom they confided will continue to know the hidden information, but nobody else.

Just in case you have forgotten exactly how the Fidelius Charm works, it is

"an immensely complex spell involving the magical concealment of a secret inside a single, living soul. The information is hidden inside the chosen person, or Secret-Keeper, and is henceforth impossible to find -- unless, of course, the Secret-Keeper chooses to divulge it" (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)

In other words, a secret (eg, the location of a family in hiding, like the Potters) is enchanted so that it is protected by a single Keeper (in our example, Peter Pettigrew, a.k.a. Wormtail). Thenceforth nobody else – not even the subjects of the secret themselves – can divulge the secret. Even if one of the Potters had been captured, force fed Veritaserum or placed under the Imperius Curse, they would not have been able to give away the whereabouts of the other two. The only people who ever knew their precise location were those whom Wormtail had told directly, but none of them would have been able to pass on the information.

Yesterday, she updated her diary with progress on book 7:

This always happens. I make a plan, it looks nice and neat, then I get to actually write the book and realise that Harry can't possibly do all that in just one chapter. So what I thought were going to be two chapters have now become four. I still don't think the book will be as long as 'Phoenix', but if that keeps happening... no, it won't. I'm looking at the plan, and it can't. Surely. Please.

Nothing else I can tell you at the moment. Well, there's LOADS I could tell you at the moment, but I can't. Sorry.

Looks like book 7 might be longer than she thought it was going to be....

And today, she's wished Ron a Happy Birthday.

okay this may be nothing but now salazar slytherin is the wizard of the month and he has slytherins necklace on last month we had helga with her cup do you with this is a clue?

That was super hard! I feel like a dummy now...I took screen shots of each of the questions if someone wants me to post them so we can discuss..that might be fun.

And Polly, I had noticed that too. I bet July will be either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor...and I think it means the founders will be important.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your results?

With the last two wombat tests it was about a week when we could go in and see a clock ticking saying "Tests being marked", then a few days later it was "results in the post", then a few days later again the results were in.

I think it would be cool if they went up on the 21st June though - one month before, and the Summer solstice.

I will get right on posting them! I know I got them all wrong...and Kate...I think it takes like months to get the scores back...atleast I think they did the last time!

I wonder why it takes so long?

Cause there are a lot of them to grade...that's my guess! Do you want me to post the caps here Amy, or somewhere else?

I'm sure we'll get them before the book is released...I'm hoping we'll get something for our efforts - some titles or an extract or something!

Oh and everyone - JKR is on Jonathon Ross' talkshow on BBC1, 6th July.

I toook the test! ...and I think I failed... the Minister of Magic thing was hard!!! I knew one, and then I guessed on all the others!!!

And nothing from the book! *is sad*

ohhh i got Acceptable on my first one and Poor on my second(with a small bit about narrowly missing an A) i found my missing student ID code gutted about there being nothing from the book, you'd think after 3 tests we'd have a prize, unless its only for the Outstanding students but even then that would be unfair and something JKR wouldnt do.

Surprisingly, I got Exceeds Expectations though I guessed my way through most of it XD and still no reward except for it being nicely framed on the wall ^^

Okay so the wizard of the month is Godric griffindor and he is holding his sword. Do you think this might be a clue becuase slazar was holding his locket and helga her cup and godric his sword to maybe this is a clue that the sword is a horcrux or something gah I dunno but it got me wondering anyway.

I got Exceeds Expectations which is squeeee! XD ... how on earth did I do that? ... annnd considering the fact that I was kinda hurrying through it cos it was my "ilegally on the computer and should be doing homework"-time XD ... I got lucky, I guess XD

lol well, we already saw the sword in CoS and seen as it was an object that helped Harry ... uhmmmm I doubt it that it's a Horcrux... :/

Well j.k. hasent shown Ravenclaw so she probaly will next month and she will most likly be holding her horcrux so does that mean that dumbledore was right in thinking that the horcrux isent anything of grffindors.

On the first one I got an O, the second one I recieved an E and on the last one I got an O!!!! I have the certificates hung up in my room because I'm so proud of it. Hahaha.
