Round One - Fated4HP vs Herbaceoustraitorous

~It had been months since the "Fated One" or as many called him now by his well established name-Jesse; had set foot into a dueling arena. The last time he'd been in the dark hollow place was when he had faced off in the final round that determined the winner. He had come in 2nd so that hadn't been too terrible but now he craved first and so this time he was going to be tougher to beat. His body still held several scars from when he had battled in so many duels before yet they made him proud for he had earned his way to the top and was planning on doing it again this term.~

~He brushed his soft, blond bangs out of his sky blue eyes and fixed his gaze upon the doors that would introduce his opponent. He cracked his knuckles, then his neck and his back loosening himself up for the battle. He slowly slid out his finely crafter yew wand that had three dragon heartstrings intertwined within it from three species of dragons.
He took a few deep breaths and then nodded as he was finally ready to begin.~

~First thing was Defense. He knew that in order to have a strong offense, he'd need an ever stronger defense. So pointing the tip of his wand to the temple of his head, he said "Mens Alica Immunity" (latin-Mind spell immunity) This spell would protect him from any mind spells cast or that would be cast to attempt to control his though processes or thinking abilities. He then moved the wand tip to his chest and said "Somes Torqueo Immunity" (latin- Body Distortion Immunity) This simple yet effective charm would keep all of his anatomy in place including his internal organs.

~He was taking no chances with his opponent, and then held the wand up to a 90 degree angle and began to rotate it slowly in a counter-clockwise motion chanting "Servo mihi ex copiae copie of fervens quod gelu. Tribuo mihi vires quod planto mihi temerarus!" (latin-Protect me from forces of hot and cold. Give me strength and make me bold.) He was going to make sure that climatical changes would not deter his keen senses from the duel at hand.

~He then smirked, feeling his confidence slowly rising though not enough to awaken his rather ominous ego that he was known to have. And then she arrived and he was ready to turn his attention off of his devilishly-handsome self and onto his opponent. He was familiar with her for she had been a former rival in the past and he clearly remembered her power once she had her pink tutu.~

~He pointed his wand to the floor in front of him and mumbled "invisible incendia parietis" (invisible fire wall-latin) So that only the caster of the spell can see exactly where the flames are placed and the flames become visible ONLY when the opponent steps into them which normally result in painful, deep burns.~

~Then he twirled his wand around between his fingers then pointed it at Herby's feet this time.~ "radix redimio" (root bind-latin) Large roots burst from the ground wrapping around the girl's ankles and began to squeeze tightly as they held her in place.~

~He was amused but felt she needed a tiny bit more to deal with. He pointed his wand tip to the ceiling. "arachnid committo!" (Arachnid Intrusion) and around a hundred small spiders came slowly descending down towards the bound girl. He grinned and then decided that he would stop for now and give the poor girl just a slight chance to do something before he got more devious and evil.~

"This duel is just the beginning." he said to himself as the spiders continued to slink down towards their target. He wasn't as afraid of spiders as he had been in the past-well as long as he didn't have to eat another one. He grimaced at that memory then shook it away. Now was not the time for him to recall such things. He arrogantly twirled his wand again with a mock sypathetic look on his face. "Poor poor Herby...what are you going to do?" he asked dramatically. His eyes gleamed mischieviously.~
