| did your parents ever tell you something and you totally believed it only to realise what a big fat lie it was when you grew older? lol when i first asked my mum where babies came from, she turned around to me and told me that santa clause brought them to god mummies and daddies. I am ashamed to admit that i actually started putting that on my christmas list there after truley believing it right up until i nearly reached teen years! | |

| Yup, when I was younger people used to tell me to never look at my ahem area cuz if I did, I'd go blind.
Then my grandma told me that everyone who has a black cat is evil.
Also, guys can never be true men unless they go hunting and actually kill something :( "But I don't want to shoot Bambi!" is what I would always say to my grandpa. Heh, yeah yeah I'm a weird sensitive guy.

| (wooooot, i'm evil then, according to your grandma, jesse xD)
My dad told me that the whole meaning with the wedding bouquet the bride throws, is to run away from it... sooner my mom told me that he just didn't want me to get married, so i spent a nice time of my life running away from that cursed bouquet xD
My grandma used to say that men don't care about smart women, but they do care about how smart you make yourself look..... Hmm, my family is messed up :D
"It's better to run away from your problems and let someone else handle them than face them yourself", oh how i love my aunts!!!! xD
..Then they wonder why i am like this O.O

| My mom would tell me the ol' "apple a day keeps the doctor away" thing. And for about a month I religiously ate apples....until she told me I had to go get a shot and I screamed,
"NOOO!!! I ATE MY APPLE TODAY!!! LIEESSSS!!" :D

| rofl yes, the apple pip... I believe that too. And one time I drank water after swallowing one so I was actually scared of an apple tree growing in my stomach and I spent a few hours being worried XD (for my defense I was like 6...)
I also believed firmly in the "7 o'clock man" lol don't know if you have the same thing in english, his name is probably different.. but it was like... a man that was mean with young children who weren't in bed at 7 XD and one time I was at my uncle and aunt's place and my uncle kept telling me "look out the street, look out the street, he's here!" until I ran into my mother's arms, crying, and my aunt told him to stop lol.

| Lol in elementary school kids used to act all wise, and say, "My mom said if you eat standing up, all the food goes straight down, and you get fat feet."
Fine. It took me a few years, though, to come up with a suitable answer: If you eat sitting down, will you get a fat butt?? :D
Anyway, their moms probably said that so that they shouldn't walk around the house with cookies or something, spraying crumbs everywhere.

| Ive been listening to some really weird old wives tales on pregnancy recently and it is so weird what people believe. Some I have heard are:
If you dangle a ring on a piece of string over a pregnant womans belly - if the ring swings from side to side, it's a girl, and if it swings in a circle, it's a boy.
Cats can steal the air from a baby's mouth.
A few others I grew up on and believed:
Wait an hour after eating before swimming otherwise you will sink. - I went in a swimming pool once 10 minutes after eating, then remembered and paniced and raced straight out again - I was young though lol
Coffee stunts your growth. (hehe well Mick is short in height...)
If you cross your eyes, they'll stay that way
If you suck your thumb it will shrink - I was terrified of that as a child!
