cute_polkadot_chick V Roman - round 1

Each person will have 6 posts within a match!
Bring in as many new ways of attacking and defending as possible!
When the 6 posts each have finished – the match is finished and you will have to wait for your scores
Scores will be updated on score thread after each match marked!
The lowest scoring four people at the end of the matches will be knocked out and round 2 will commence

Let the battle commence!

"I suppose one of us better start this Dot."

::Roman bows appropriately and takes a ready dueling stance. Being sure to carefully aim at the bottom of his opponents cloak, he begins::

"Incendio!"

::As the streamer of flame hurls towards cute_polkadot_chick, Roman follows her movements carefully and shouts a quick follow up, "Silencio!"::

(Come on, Dot, send it back just as hard, let's have some fun.)

Polkadot lifts her wand to block the curse.

"Locomoter, brick" Polkadot watches as a single brick from a pile flys towards Roman.

The brick crashes into the wall, though, as Roman dodges it.

"Accio, Roman's wand!" Polkadot pointed her wand towards Roman, who was regaining her strength from having to launch herself onto the floor to avoid the brick...

"Merlin damn it!" Roman cries as he picks himself off the ground.

A struggle to maintain a hold on his wand ensues, but he loses due to the force of cute_polkadot_chicks accio. In a slight horror he watches as his wand flies towards Dots waiting hand.

Looking around frantically he spots the pile of bricks (briefly wonders how the hell they got there, lol). He rolls towards the bricks, attempting to throw Dot off gaurd. Without even pausing to think about whether or not this sort of thing is legal in a duel he starts throwing bricks towards cute_polkadot_chick.

He hopes Dot knows this isn't an attempt to knock her out completely, just throw her off gaurd enough for her to drop his wand so he make a dive for it.

Muttering, "Come on, come on." He keeps throwing bricks and watching as they flew towards Dot, whom was dodging them rather well.

Dot continued to dodge the bricks.

"What the crap, just give up already!" She screamed.

Then, seeing her chance as Roman pauses to grab a brick, she pulls out both wands.

"Petrificus Totalus" She pointed both wands at Roman.

The curse sped forward...

"Holy ... "

Seeing no other defence due to being wandless, and mostly unarmed, Roman held the bricks in front of himself. Both spells hit them and the numbess seemed to be transferred to his hands, but he was still able to move the rest of his body.

Now wandless and handless, Roman honestly thought about Dots suggestion on giving up, but quickly discarded the idea. He was a Ravenclaw and they were known for being able to think.

But wandless and with numb hands, the odds were slim. The beater in him took over and with his wrists he managed to pick up one brick as feeling slowly returned.

"Sorry about this, Dot." He said as he flung the brick to the best of his ability. Both he and Dot watched as the brick flew through the air, as if in slow motion, just hitting her wrist and causing to drop his wand.

Grinning to himself he pounced. Diving for the wand as it dropped to the ground, catching it just before it hit, but also catching a targeted stupefy from Dot in the leg.

He muttered curses about Merlins heritage as he rolled back to his end of the dueling podium. He may not be able to stand anymore, but he had his wand back, it was a duel again.

Facing Dot, yet still being on his stomach, he shouts "Confundo!" and watches as the charm heads directly for Dot.

(Oh man, I seem to be digging myself in deeper and deeper, what a fool I be! Curse my horrid imagination, I swear it hates me!)

Dot cried out as the brick hit her wrist. She felt the bones shattering inside her.

But still, she leapt out of the way of the next charm and raise her wand with her left hand.

"Protego!" She screamed.

The shield formed infront of her.

When she finally was protected, Dot muttered a healing curse to fix her wrist.

"Locomotor Mortis" She then screamed.

Being as one of his legs was already numb, the leg locker curse didn't do much as it hit Romans legs, he was already on the ground, only being able to roll anyway.

As Dots spell hit his legs, he used the time to cry "Furnunculus!" He knew she'd get him good as the first boils began to erupt on her face and he winced at how painful they looked, but it didn't deter him.

While cute_polkadot_chick was busy with the boils, he pointed his wand at his own legs, "Finite Incantatem."

It removed the effects of both spells to his legs, and Roman was back on his feet, thankfully. "Conjuctivitus!"

Dot cried out in pain as the boils formed on her body. She cursed Roman with a burning passion and fell to the floor as a huge boils formed on her ankle, causing her to lose her balance.

As she hurried to hex the boils away, Dot saw the next curse as it hit the wall and disappeared. Realizing that the boil saved her from the curse, Dot stood up quickly.

With the snap of her wand, the boils were gone.

"Rictusempra!" Dot screamed the curse she had learned in her first year at school. It was a lame spell mainly used for jokes. But, it could cause a much needed diversion.

Still wincing in pain from the boils, Dot watched the curse sail towards Roman...

Far too cocky for his own good, Roman watched Dot fall and send one of the simplest spell at him. Thinking nothing of it, he flung up a quick protego and then watched in horror as the spell passed right through it. It seemed Rictusempra was too basic to be averted by an advanced shield.

It hit him and his whole body shook as he attempted to hold back the laughter. The effort was futile and all those watching the duel realized that although Roman was a big guy, he giggled like a little girl.

Momentarily unable to stop the laughing, Roman looked towards Dot and saw her struggling to stand up again. Pointing his wand at her, "Imp ... *giggle, giggle* Imped ... hahahahahahaha ... Dam - Damn it ... *giggle* Impedimenta!"

It only had half the desired effect as it didn't completely stop cute_polkadot_chick, but instead simply slowed her down. But that gave Roman the time he needed to get out a "Finite Incantatum" through his laughter and also regain his breath.

Finally, with the girl-like giggling stopped and his breath caught, Roman was able to fully put himself back into things, pointing his wand at the slowly moving Dot he shot off a few stinging hexes towards her, simply as a distraction, before yelling "Tarantallegra!"

Dot cried out as the last of the bundle of curses hit her.

She began to dance, unlike she had learned to in her hip-hop and pop dance classes, but like an overexcited ballerina who had just chugged a bottle of Coke and was extremely dizzy.

Her legs were burning and felt weak, but they continued to dance. She knew she looked like a freak with her arms waving wildly around.

Thankfully, Roman's eariler condition had prohibited him from sending the complete curse towards Dot, so she was spared the entire long effects of the curse.

So Dot finished her recital a few seconds later. She fell to the floor, gasping for breath and clutching her legs in pain.

Still crying out, Dot managed to lift her wand and point it squarly at Roman. "Reducto!" She had no idea if the curse would work in this situation, since she wasn't close to Roman, but it was worth a shot.

Having been far too distracted catching his breath and laughing at how riddiculous Dot looked, Roman missed her point her wand at him. But was quick enough to shout "Protego!" when her reducto was heading for him.

After blocking it and realizing this was his last chance to get his opponent, Roman decided to get creative. Thinking quickly, as Dot was regaining breath, his mind went over the pus hex, bat bogey, langlock and a number of others he wouldn't normally use, but as soon as they came he dismissed them.

Thinking about how she had just tried to blow him up, Roman pointed his wand at Dot, "Relashio, Aguamenti." Mixing the two charms, a stream of boiling water headed for his opponent.

After ending the stream, he dissilusioned himself and swung to the right while it was still moving through the air and followed up with "Expelliarmus! Petrificus Totalus!"

(That was a lot of fun Dot. Well played.)

Cute screamed as the wave of boiling water spashed against her body. The next curse hit her, enabling her to move at all.

Cute saw that Roman had won. She cursed under her breath, but accepted the fact that they had both dueled well, but Roman had done better.

After the curses were lifted, Cute stood up. Shakily, she walked over to Roman.

"Well done." She held out her hand.
