Today however we were learning something new in Herbology. Mandrakes. I wasn't very keen on knowing how to plant them seeing as I already knew what could happen if you listen to the cry of a baby madrake. Thank goodness, thought because Professor Sprout said she had ear muffs and passed them around to the class. Unfortuantly one of the students, a slytherin forgot to put on his muffs and collapsed to the ground. Two seconds, so did her friends who had tried to help her. Some had laughed, but I didn't find it one bit amusing at all. They could have been seriously in more danger if it had been an mature Mandrake. And Mandrakes aren't the cutest little things at all. Even if they were just babies. One bit my nose and as I potted another it bit down on my finger and would not let go. I crashed into Professor Sprout's Devil Snare trying to get the little bugger off. When I left, I was highly disgruntled. Imagine being bit by those horrid things! But, it was pretty fun, none the less. That's the thing about Herbology, you only use your hands! There is no thinking involved, until testing, of course! | well, i had to complete this class!... PART TWO-YOU AND THE MANDRAKE Please write me a 50+ word story about the day you spent in Greenhouse 3 learning about the Mandrake with Professor Sprout. What happened? What did you see? Did anyone forget to put their you know what's on and something happened to them? Just be descriptive and have fun. (20) WE walked down to Greenhouse 3 fart oo early in the mornign for our lesson on mandrakes. Ron was still eating his toast, Neville was nowhere to be seen- he had forgotton his timetable again! Hermione was, as usual, reading a book in order to try to get ahead before the lesson. Mandragora walked in a little late- she had forgotton that muggle alarm clocks don't work inside the castle! After apologising to professor sprout (she didn't want to be given a detention shovelling dragon dung fter class!) she stood wuith the other students listening to Professor sprout talking about the Mandrake plants that the school had recently imported. Having listened to the safety talk about the mandrakes, Mandragora rushed along with the rest of the class to get a pair of non fluffy earmuffs (and succeeded- managing to get a respectable blue, non fluffy pair). At this point, Neville burst into the greenhouse, having finally made his way to the lesson! He was left with the only pair of earmuffs left- they were pink fluffy, and had once belonged to Dolores Umbridge when she was a student at Howarsts. We then proceeded to repot the baby mandrakes. they were some of the ugliest creatures we had ever seen and they smelt really bad, but then again i suppose they hadn't had a bath for a long time! Mandragora, who was working with Neville and Hermione, felt Neville fall to the ground next to her. Thinking that he had forgotton to put his easrmuffs on, she rushed over to Professor Sprout and tapped her on the shoulder. Professor sprout came rusing over to see Neville, and then realised that he was not unconscious because of the Mandrakes cries, merely because he had fainted. After all the repotting of the mandrakes had been completed, Mandragora made her way back to the Main school with the rest of the class for a well- earned (and well needed) shower before dinner. Neville had recovered by this point, and was helped up to the castle by Professor sprout. THE END! Bonus: Sources: my brain, HP books, Google Images

What happened? What did you see? Did anyone forget to put their you know what's on and something happened to them? Just be descriptive and have fun. (20) Katie and her friends Angelina and Alicia were running late for there first Herbology lesson of the year. They were late because Angelina's too big robes had tripped her several times already. They schreeched to a halt outside the greenhouses just in time to see the last of there class filing. Huffing and puffing they fallowed Fred Weasly into greenhouse 3. There mouths opened in awe as they walked in to the the shelter filled with the most amzing plants you will ever see. Still breathing heavy they took there spots along the long wooden table across from those brainy Ravenclaws. After a moment of amazed talking Professor Sprout called the class to attention. "Good Morning Class" "Good Morning Professor Sprout" they all echoed in unison, except for the Weasly twins who had stretched out every sylable. "Today we will be starting with the Mandragora, more commonly known as the what?" The Gryffindors in the class looked around at each other as the Ravenclaws raised a few scattered hands. "Mr Weasly, put down that dragon manure! " Sprout scolded, "yes dear you were saying," she finished her conversation with a Ravenclaw. "Very Good! Well today we will be working with the Mandrake as Jill so rightly said. I will need all of you to take some of these earmuffs and return to your station." Katie and the rest of the class obediently went the shelf to pick out their earmuffs leaving behind the olive gree pair for their professor. As Katie walked back to her spot she was wondereing what they could possibly be doing with them. "Now as I assume you all know, the cry of the Mandrake is fatal to all who hear it, so we will be needing to tightly secure our earmuffs on, and no Mr. Weasly, that does not mean to through dragon manure!" Sprout finished. Katie placed her fluffy pink ear muffs on her ears and waited for the signal. Everybody in her class looked so funny with the little fuzzes covering their ears. Now, the smell of the dragon manure was getting to her and she plugged her noise. After Professor was sure all the earmuffs were securely on, she gave the class a thumbs up and they each removed a mandrake and placed the ugly baby on the table in front of their new clean sketch books. It was crazy! Dirt was everywhere and people were struggling to hold their plants down. Luckily, Katie had grabbed a ababy one so he was quite still as she attempted to sraw his tiny body. WHen the class was over they repotted the Mnadrakes, removed their earmuffs and handed in their homework smelling terribly of drangon manure. THE END!

| PART TWO-YOU AND THE MANDRAKEIt was our first day of classes. Professor Sprout was already waiting for us in the Greenhouse 3. The first thing we noticed was the several trays with dirt and some kind of plant inside them. Professor Sprout started to make questions about a plant name Mandrake or Mandragora. Hermione as usual answered all the questions letting us know that the mandrake is used to to return people who have been transfigured or cursed, to their original state and its cry can be fatal. Nothing I didn’t know already but I’m not as prentensious as Granger. She then ordered us to put some ear-muffs on. These suppressed all outside noise. She then pull a plant from the tray in front of her. Lots of the present sutdent icluding the sillky Potter opened their mouths with surprised and disgust. Professor sprout was holding what it look like a tubercular baby. It was screaming like a pig aout to get killed. She then put the young mandrake in another tray with new and fresh dirt. The rest of the class with the same process she did. All except from Neville who hadn’t put his ear-muff correctly and so was knocked unconcious by the cry of the young mandrake. Did anyone forget to put their you know what's on and something happened to them? Just be descriptive and have fun. (20) So i walked into the greenhouse...some spikey plant tried to stab me with a spike, but did it get in trouble? noooooo, sprout told ME off for annoying. Silly women, it was the plants fault! So she gathered us around table full of ugly little plants in pots and explained that they were mandrakes. She had us read about them in our books, then she explained that we would be transplanting them. She went through the saftey procedures; earmuffs, don't poke them, don't remove a fellow student's earmuffs, work hard, firmly grip them or they won't budge, don't be silly people etc. I placed my earmuffs firmly on my head and firmly yanked up my plant. It was the uglyest thing in the world. I don't even want to think about it. Well Marieanna Tournset, the silly girl, got so upset over her mandrake, i think it bit her (you could hear her wailing about it even through the earmuffs), and she got so upset she took off her earmuffs and threw them to the ground...and was promptly knocked out. She's still in the hospital wing, but that might be because she went into hysterics over her manicure that was ruined when the mandrake bit her. (wow that was a bad story, but i just rambled really lol.) When he was passing the other class, his friend from it remarked, "Keep your earmuffs on, mate." So then, after entering GH3, he saw some normal-looking plants, and he took his spot. Ms. Sprout said, "Today, we will be learning about Mandrakes! Neville, do you know what they are?" Neville replied, "They are a plant with screaming roots that look like babies! Also, if you hear the scream of the adult Mandrake, then you will die instantly!" "Good," replied Ms. Sprout. "Today, we will be replanting immature Mandrakes! I assure you know harm will come with hearing these screams, but you will be knocked unconscious for several hours. Put on your earmuffs, and get to work!". Draco Malfoy, however, did not put on his earmuffs. The instant they were out of the soil when they were getting replanted, he immediately fainted. Ms. Sprout asked Seamus Flannagan to take him to the hospital wing, and he took him. Everyone correctly planted their Mandrakes except Crabb and Goyle, who happened to get bitten by them somehow. The class ended, and Joe Normal succedded in replanting a Mandrake! Extra credit Post a picture of a Mandrake and get an extra 5 bonus points! | |

PART TWO-YOU AND THE MANDRAKE
The day I saw a mandrake, I knew I would never be able to look at another plant the same. I may never look at children the same. Even with the earmuffs on, I could hear the cry of the horrible thing. Of course, Neville was the one who fell over. Poor champ. Anyway, I figured it would be useful to try and pay attention but those bloody things are horrible! One tried to bite me and my was a fat, horrible looking on. I swore I was looking into the future of Crabbe and Goyle's love baby. Professor Sprout, however, looked like she was in love. I guess she really cares for these....beast. Yes, that's what they are! I couldn't believe it when Neville came around, he was fawning over them in amazement. Why did I have to take this class? Most normal people would prefer to actually learn something useful. Oh was that the bell? I hate herbology....

Part one:
1. Another name for the mandrake is Mandraogra. 2.To cure a person from a magically induced sleep. 3.If your herd a mature mandrake cry, it could kill any person that hears it. 4. If you herd a immature mandrake cry, it could knock out a person for several hours. Not enough to kill. 5. A person could wear earmuffs. 6. They have brown roots, humanoid leaves with a green brown distinction . They have a face with two eyes and a mouth with scream, like of a mature one, could kill and that of immature, could knock out any person who hears it for several hours.
Part 2:
I just walked into Herbology, and saw that their where earmuffs at each station.
Everyone took their seats, and then class got started."Okay! Class, we are going to study Mandragora's today." She announced. My hand shot up at the unfamiliar word. "Yes, Amelia?" She asked. "Mandragora's, Professor?" I asked. "Yes. Everyone put on the earmuffs and we shall get started."
We all looked at the earmuffs for a moment. As everyone put them on, "We have these because what a Mandrake does when pulled out of it's planting pot, it scream." She told.[i] A scream? That can't be that bad. I thought. "A scream of an immature plant, can knock out anyone of us for several hours. That of a mature plant, can even kill. So, make sure those are tight." She assured us. Everyone had a scared look on their face. I think i even did. Of all the things i've ever learned, this has to be the most-strange? Scary? i don't know.
"Now, watch me first, then you all do the same." She got out a potted plant, with obviously a mandrake in it. "You take a firm grip on the stem, and yank!" She pulled out the most hideous thing i've ever seen! Everyone still covered their ears. It was like an ugly baby! It was brown, and wrinkly looking. It had two eyes and a mouth, that was still screaming! After that, she shoved it back in it's pot." Now, any questions?" She asked. The room was silent. "Start yanking!" We all got to work. I looked at the pot in front of me. I firmly took the think steam with both hands, and pulled. Mine was hideous! The same brown wrinkly texture, but an even louder scream.I gazed at it for a few moments. That's all i can remember.
I wake up on the floor. "What happened?" I asked. I saw the person that was sitting next to me, Aliza Evens, wasn't their anymore. "Eliza lifted up one of your muffs." Professor sprout told me. I picked myself up. "Wait. What about the several hours?" I asked, confused. "She only lifted it for a moment. So, the effect wasn't entire. You where only out for twenty minuets." She explained. "Wow." I say. [i] I need to have a word with Eliza. i thought, angerly.
