Annoying but funny. My favourite bit with Peeves was when he obeyed the weasley twins with Umbridge

I loved that part!

I think Peeves is just there to give a little comic relief, really.

he is like a clown.. dressed birghtly...the whole 9, he is clever and cunnign, and funny, but why isnt he expelled?

Can he be expelled? He isnt technically a student and he is kind of dead

well in the Yule Ball, Fluer says that if it was at Beauxbatoms (sp) he would be expelled.

I loooove Peeves!! He's so mischievous, and i love the way he causes mayhem around the castle. And in OotP i couldn't help but laugh out loud when the Weasley twins told Peeves to give hell to Umbridge xD

I almost rolled offf the couch and my little sister was like "Katie is dying" my mom thought it was funny becasue I was all red and crying . lol. peeves and the weaslys do that to me when I'm hyper and reading HP

Hes an annoyance! Hes ok, and funny! I agree with people he should kind
of get expelled or banned from HOgwarts. He just gets in the way!

Okay I think peeves is quite annoying but he had his moment of shine in ootp. I don't think he will come into much play in the last book.

I liked that he was good even though he was a pest. He had a definite favoriing to the good side and I think he really resepected the weasleys even though he said he didn't like any students. I think he's in it for the school and loves it no matter how much he trashes it to get Filch annoyed.

I like how in the fifth one, he took fred and george's departing words to heart and how mcgonagall helped him unscrew a chandelier! hahahahaha!

yeah I loved that part too. For some reason I think he helped during the final battle.. is that right?

i think he might have tried to cause more confusion for the DE (as in confuse the DE not help them)

No, I would think not! I was realy disappointed when they took him out of all the movies!

I know!! She explains ghosts in a lot of detail, but Peeves is an anomaly that I really would have loved to know more about. And they didn't put him in any of the movies. AND he needed to be in the books more; especially the later books. JK introduced the first books with so many cute and quirky things that fell by the wayside when her more concentrated plot too precedence.

I got a bit of a Shakespearean vibe from him. A lot of the ghosts of Hogwarts (and Peeves) seemed from the Elizabethan era or earlier. Except binns and Myrtle. Becoming a ghost lost its appeal after the Tudors?

I always assumed ghosts were attached to physical places, and that's why they 'haunt' them; so if a person died in the latter decades, it'd stand that they'd still be hanging around the castle.

Well I think it's a place that impacted their life the most but I could be wrong. However in the case of Peeves he's not a ghost but a poltergeist which is something different. I don't think poltergeists used to be people who died and turned into ghosts.

Mm they'd have a different name otherwise.

Hmm Wikipedia describes a poltergeist as a ghost, but he's definitely different in the books.

Peeves is amazing. I especially like him in the fifth book when he takes the twins parting words to heart and wreaks havoc over Hogwarts. He's hilarious! I was always disappointed he didn't make it into the movies but I'm glad he got into the first few video games.
